Muslims should be converted to Atheism, Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, Taoism or any other belief system other than Islam. If Islam was just a religion, then there would be no argument. But there is a political and social aspect to Islam that is not compatible with liberal democracies, and cannot be excised. Unfortunately, Atheists are no good at proselytizing.

It goes without saying that all people in America should have the freedom of speech and pass out pamphlets and whatnot. However, in all fairness, if it were the other way around, it's almost certain that Christians would react the same way (or Jews for that matter). I believe those Christians should be able to pass out their pamphlets but I don't think they should have done it because not only is it futile, but it's not a smart thing. You might not believe in it but there are people who do, so it obviously does matter, since it informs the behavior of many people.
Not all religions teach the same. We are just lucky to live in secular societies and that most people don't follow their holy books! With what's written in the Qu'ran and the Hadith we are especially lucky to not life in a country with sharia law. You can't just divorce the teachings from the behavior and only make it accountable for the good.

Muslims should be converted to Atheism, Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, Taoism or any other belief system other than Islam. If Islam was just a religion, then there would be no argument. But there is a political and social aspect to Islam that is not compatible with liberal democracies, and cannot be excised. Unfortunately, Atheists are no good at proselytizing.

While i like most stories, and the spiritual context that leads those stories to god or to the figure with the higher power as such books tell you.
But it are only stories, without realism. Perhaps bible or quran events are based upon realism, but protrayed unrealistic, as god is not understood and is theirfore to mystical to be realistic in itself.

It goes without saying that all people in America should have the freedom of speech and pass out pamphlets and whatnot. However, in all fairness, if it were the other way around, it's almost certain that Christians would react the same way (or Jews for that matter). I believe those Christians should be able to pass out their pamphlets but I don't think they should have done it because not only is it futile, but it's not a smart thing. I'm not religious i believe in Human rights and the fellowship of all humans! I don't differentiate between humans, but i differentiate ideologies and holy books. Not all teach same and not all Religious founders give the same example. sharia consists of both Qu'ran and Hadith, you can't change what Mohammed himself did, you can just ignore it

You might not believe in it but there are people who do, so it obviously does matter, since it informs the behavior of many people.
Not all religions teach the same. We are just lucky to live in secular societies and that most people don't follow their holy books! With what's written in the Qu'ran and the Hadith we are especially lucky to not life in a country with sharia law. You can't just divorce the teachings from the behavior and only make it accountable for the good.

Freedom of speech and conscious are also human rights and freedom of religion doesn't trump the rest of the human rights, which are for humans and not ideologies! @annata12 and you cant argue it because its true. but as for there holy books they are just stories that can be used for good or evil the way they are being used right now not so good but again u can use the bible and have the same effect by using quick one liners out of context so the problem doesn't lie with the religion but the preachers and the message they are choosing to send out so if you about equal rights then you would be about educating people about the right choices but to do that

I have way to many Christian, Jewish, Agnostic friends that I respect to the fullest just like how they respect me. I'd be a hypocrite if I do get offended. I always respected Cenk and his opinion as he makes sense on many of the issues he tackles. However, in this case, I find it extremely offensive to make fun of Jesus and Muslims believe.
I personally respect people and their believe regardless weather I agree with it or not, and part of that respect is not ridicule what they believe in.
Cenk...you should apologize to the Christian and Muslim communities for this segment..
