  • Thumbs up if you prefer Vintersorg cover by far

  • Bernie Shaw ... you rock my world !!!

  • AWESOMEEEEEEE

  • dress sense has not improved

  • This song about a gay exorcism sounds like Christian music especially the loud organs. Metal for Christ! Pray out the Rainbow Demon, Mr Gay.

  • The bass player should be shot and Mick Box should be bitch-slapped for his wimpy tone. The song lacks all the dynamics of the studio LP, beginning with the forceful organ during the intro. During the guitar solo all I can hear is the bass player trying to outdo Gary Thain. It's a guitar solo for Chrissake! Long live Byron and Hensley.

  • Uriah Heep - just real with David Byron! RIP DAVID!

  • Lee Kerslake is a great background singer....nobody ever gave him any credit. I still hate Ozzy Osbourne for the way he treated Lee.

  • Trevor Bolder and Steve Harris are my ultimate heroes on the bass.

  • Great song. I also love Vintersorg's cover. As epic as epic gets...

  • The best thing about Uriah Heep is .....No ego's, No Bullshit........wonderful musicians past and present but above all else Great, great music.long may they play.

  • Too fast. I miss the vibrato on "Demomaamaamaamon."

  • A great Band (the original, 70').I confim that the original Hammond sound is incredible, and all other instruments of the 70s.

    Let's Rock!

  • we all miss David Byron, but this is pretty cool

  • played too fast .. sounds like a cover band. Like a soulful song made to sound like pop music.

  • its one of this giants songs . i can here it thousand of times , all my life long

    thanks Uriah Heep

  • only ONE David Byron

  • Vintersorg make this song better :]

  • The change in sound is really because ken hensley is not in the band

  • @drumsanddrumming I disagree. It was Hensley who changed the sound in the late 70's. Anyone (any keyboardplayer, that is) can play exactly like Hensley did, but no one can come up with the same great songs. I guess what I'm trying to say is that the change in sound has more to do with different times than Hensley leaving the band. I don't think even Ken Hensley could make a new Demons and Wizards today if he wanted to.

  • @fbendz could very well be so.

  • One of my favorite Heep songs.

  • after so many years, still so fucking brilliant, glad i could still witness this with my 26 years...

  • BOOO david byron is the only way.

  • @f123u456c789k This guy should team up with Steve Morse and call the band. Blonde American dudes in british bands that dont really look that cool.

  • kicked my ass

  • Bernie Shaw sounds awesome here. Hammond should have more overdrive ;)

  • heep always was and always will be a top notch act , they should have been given a lot more credit for thier music , they deserved much more recognition

  • @Mega5109 yes, so right, there are sadly, in every era, bands that go basically unnoticed with little recognition, Robin Trower and his band suffered the same fate, as did the Fixx in the 80's. But those of us who loved music as much as we did and do now, the Heep are part of our memories and libraries!!!!!!!

  • Even today I could pick Box's guitar tone out of a line up blindfolded. I always thought he was one of the most expressive guitarists out there. I love that wah-wah sound. I just picked up Wake the Sleeper and noticed they have returned to their original Hensley era songwriting (or perhaps they returned a long time ago and I just now noticed). I think someday Heep will be recognized as innovators. No one else (but copycats Styx) combined hard rock with beautiful harmonies like that.

  • Going by the ages of the singer an drummer id say this looks more recent than 70s do they still tour?

  • The drummer has since been replaced by some 40 year old double kicking power monger. Haha, I kinda like it. You can't freeze time (unless you're AC/DC). :)

  • @Baijidoom "40 year old double kicking power monger" - This is an incredible quote... hahaha... I love it!

  • only 2 members,Box&kerslake,,not a shade on the Origional lineup!!

    ......sigh..........

  • Yeabut..... they still kick ass.

  • What a song, what lyrics. I was there, I was 14 at that time. No one can replace Byron or Gary Thain, but playing also their songs is every time like playing in honour to these wonderful musicians.

  • uh! this good

  • Heep Rocks!

  • i doesnt try to compare because david byron its david byron , that magic moment gone , actually i prefer play my own lp and close my eyes , this line up its ok but never be uriah heep

  • The Beginning Of Black Metal

  • check out tales of george on here guys you will not be dissapointed! brickwall the vid is called! peace

  • What's with the bass solo through the whole song? I love busy bass when it's appropriate but that was ridiculous. When will Mick Box change his tone or raise his volume? What a horrible replacement for David Byron, They should have just disbanded. Nice try, guys. Thanks for the vid.

Grande .. U.H....!!!

  • @metalicper ESTOY DE ACUERDO QUE BERNIE ES UN GRAN MUSICO Y TAMBIEN Q UH ESTA EN UN BUEN MOMENTO PERO BYRON ES BYRON INDISCUTIBLEMENTE EL MEJOR VOCALISTA DE URIAH HEEP HERMANO SALUDOS Y MUY BUENA CANCION EN VIVO

  • Saludos @alberthurt1 .. humm..

  • Saludos @alberthurt1 , Amen Hermano... !! Uriah Heep Rock On...!!!

  • Who the hell is this no talent dumb bastard, complete insult to David Byron!!!

  • Gotta Love it, Mick Box Rocks on and on and on.

  • Demons and wizards?

  • ok, tell us plz, if this is "rubbish" than what is good?

  • I think everyone is torqued that there aren't many original guys left from the original lineup, so how can the band be called URIAH HEEP...call it the "one guy left" that carries on the band name...but is it REALLY the band??? ask Gene Simmons in a couple of years....

  • sorry no one could ever replace david byron

  • Ooops, for just one second I think the frontman was actually Nico McBrain... Haha, damn alcohol ¡!

  • im going out to the titan(shed) to dig out my old records and if the player still plays i'll scare the spiders liked them in 73 still do haven't heard them for yonks

  • Did Trevor somehow manage to channel Gary thain? Having been a fan of Gary's since 1972, This is the closest I have ever heard of anyone getting to Gary,s unique sound.. Great job Trevor..

  • vintersorg did a cover of this song, its awesome. go check it out.

  • mr. shaw does a great uriah heep.

  • Have seen Heep many times in the last 20 years or so, never saw them do this . Thanks for posting.

  • Awesome sound!

  • the sound of this video is NICE!

really clear even taht it's in a concert!!! good work :)

  • @Alzerni There's quite a bit of clipping distortion, actually. Maybe that goes to show how badly the music industry has dumbed down listeners, when it comes to sound quality.

Does anyone know if this is on a DVD? (probably would be a lot cleaner sound). I kinda like the intro / harmony -- works pretty well, since David Byron is not available!

  • i luv the bass in this!!

  • yes great playing and tone

  • I watched Heep in concert both times they came to India - more than 20 years apart. Their gig in Bangalore back in the 80s is still remembered for a strange incident - an inebriated fan managed to bite Pete Goalby in the butt! On the second occasion, it was Bernie Shaw at the mike stand. Boy, what a frontman and what a singer! I had goosebumps when he sang the Byron-era classics, and I remember this song blowing me away completely. Surprise: the audience seemed to know most songs in the set.

  • Very cool! This song took on whole new life live.

  • Why isn't the real rainbow demon song by UH one youtube?

  • fantastici!!

  • Frechheit! Nur David Byron ist Uriah Heep!

  • be' io sono di parte...buon ascolto..

  • Great band, great song. The guitarist's part is magnificient.

  • sounds really good, but I think the old Uriah Heep (with Byron, and so on) was much better^^

  • Great! Thank you.

  • Really not bad at all!

But a bit too "clean" imo. I like he old Heep hammond sound.

  • @drawbarB3 - the Hammond B3 is still there, but not utilized in the same way or as prominently as the way Hensley made it an integral part of Heep's "sound."

  • WOW thats heavy! I though that I couldn't compare with vintersorg's version but this one kicks ass on its own!!

  • i came here too looking for vintersorg's version

  • I've got to admit I didn't think that was going to be good, but it was.

  • I love this song, but the old version is better...

  • Is there a version of this song from the real Heep?

  • lo maximo , solo para conocedores..

  • Amazon . com sales all of heep

  • Oh yeah!!This is rock! This is Uriah Heep!!!!

  • Uriah Heep fucking rocks, that is all I got to say

  • The original from the CD Demons and Wizards fucking trumps this version. I hate the second beat they added. Listen to both versions. Old version > This version.

  • their "original" rainbow demon and this have a 30+ years gap. this is isnt a new version u dumbass.

  • what a grove with great harmoney

  • I love the blonde wigs and the Rand McNally faces. Sorta kidding. Actually bands like these old dudes trump anything made today by far. Go Heep!

  • wow trevor boulder rocks.....

  • Love this song. Saw this lineup in India in 2006

  • agarra tu corazón y sale corriendo.

vive para sí mismo y se va.

    noslekFlammmmm

  • cool, nice to see they can still play it =)

  • Damn!!I love this song!

  • amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing
