  • This movie was good but be prepared to be irritated by stupidness. A serial killer was released due to lack of evidence. The same kinds of killings occurs and the police don't know who to look for? I wonder if the cops in korea are really this bad because i've noticed a lot of their incompetence in other movies and dramas too.

  • @airtioteclint Watch the movie 'Memories of Murder' to see what Korean police are like. They don't have access to the technology to do something simple like a DNA test, are underfunded and are still bound by strict judicial laws, police don't have the same level and training and power as they do in other countries.

  • @myproxyisabigpickle dude, Memories of Murder depicts Korea in the 1980s under military dictatorship. Korea has come a long way and the police force seemed very well trained, equiped and funded in the year 2011. If you dont know shit dont share your knowledge with people.

  • @myproxyisabigpickle How can you be this stupid ?

  • people dont watch this trailer

watch the movie its definietly worth it

i love korean thrillers they are a way better than hollywood movies

  • Hmmmmm.....British Trailer for a Korean Movie, with an American announcer voice....

  • I know there are already a lot of commends about this BUT GOD DAMNG IT THE TRAILER SUCKS.

  • 0:24: ''But there's only ever one original'' haha you said it, so stop making shitty re-makes :S.

  • God this movie was dis-TURBING. I dont know how they are going to adapt it to Americans, because with all the cop shows out there, its going to be hard to imagine American police being as incompetent as these guys were. Ugh it was sooooo frustrating! Amazing film nonetheless.

  • if anyone has seen it and has heard the credits song could you please let me know who plays it

  • This movie is a classic! This trailer ruined the fuck out of it...Also please do not watch these awesome movies dubbed in English..it ruins the whole intensity and authenticity of the movie! Watch it with subtitles!

  • @audiocrazy1 Thats what I tell everyone watch them in their original audio, watching them in dubbed it's just not the same

  • damn gd movie....totally jaw dropping..just loved it..its a must watch movie....worth to watch

  • bollywood movie murder 2 is ripped off of this one...

  • i might say that this movie may be gr8 but the trailer doesnt justify it

  • Awesome movie!!!

  • murder 2 is copied frm here....

  • @vivekfeel Right! Bro!

  • @vivekfeel yes it is copied suckerss.......bhattsssss

  • One of the most tense movies I've ever seen. Definitely a classic.

  • reaaally intense movie, if you have a weak heart dont watch it, the trailer does not do it justice, neither does the 7.9 rating in IMDB

  • Does the killer have Religious beliefs, by any chance? I know he worked in construction, but i am not sure of his obsession with the cross. I mean he painted it, all over the walls in his prison mate's place, earlier in the film. That part is unanswered, maybe it's supposed to be. Just tryin to get my head around that part, apart from that tense, disturbing and brilliant film, that only Korea could create. Good luck, adapting this one Hollywood

  • Who is the main actors name? I have seen him in a lot of moves. And yeah the trailer does him no justice.

  • It's in my TOP 5 list, can't forget it till now

  • @Raider577 Just don't come to Kentucky....it sucks here.lol

  • Is this film out on dvd and is it worth getting?

  • This film looks good. I dont think it will be better than i saw the devil

  • @SuperAmnesiahaze i saw the devil had a linear plot imo.. but this movie, it reminded me of the dark knight. lots of twists and surprises. both good movies tho

  • @SuperAmnesiahaze "The Chaser" is WAY better than "I Saw The Devil". This movie is amazing from the beginning to the end.

  • One of my favourite South Korean films, with an awful American trailer. Definitely watch this if you're into fast-paced and brutal thrillers.

  • this movie reminds me of 3 guys 1 hammer

  • The Man From Nowhere. An essential MUST SEE!

  • before I saw this film my favorite Korean films were: Save the Green Planet, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Memories of Murder, Taegukgi, Crying FIst, JSA, Oldboy and anything with Sol Kyung-gu.

now it's: The Chaser, The Chaser, The Chaser, The Chaser, and Taegukgi

  • I simply enjoy foreign films more because I like reading subtitles. I have a bad ear and I can't always catch the mumbles n whispers of a dialogue. Reading it helps me to understand the movies much better. Dubbing takes away from the voice acting. The voice n expressions just don't go together.

  • Hollywood is shameless, I wish we had a more open international movie scene, I gotta' dig this shit up on the internet just to watch it and search like crazy just to buy it only to end up with a crap copy burned in some mofo's basement.. Give a shit what team remakes it, are we to expect a high quality skillful rip off or something? Wtf..

  • @Third3arMusic NETFLIX HAS IT YOU WHINY BABY.

  • What ever do you mean, Hollywood will do an awesome job,....In ruining the movie to obliteration lmao That's what the do best duh. It's called a profession geez. If they don't ruin movies they wont be able take rake in the little bucks duh lol

  • seriously why remake this?? epic fail hollywood

  • 나름 외국에 맞게 트레일러 만든 것 같기는 한데 추격자 분위기랑은 영 안 맞는 듯 -_-;;

  • This film is brilliant,i loved it,loved the fast pace, great acting, ahhhh hope this don't get remade!!!

  • i just dont get it,

    Why remake this? WHY???

I'm foreign and I loved this movie so much!

Seriously, who gives a f*** if the departed guys are making it. Internal affairs is still better.

Hollywood, I wouldn't complain about asian or indian remakes of your films, because you take the cake.

  • Garbage!

  • FUCK YOU HOLLYWOOD! FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, AND FUCK YOU!!!! FUCK YOU AND YOUR SHITTY REMAKES...the only good remake of an asian movie has been The Departed - but still...way to be original!

Can't come up w/ your own damn scripts - oh no wait you do...but there always has to be at least 10 moronic EXPLOSIONS am I not correct?

But god this movie had a wonderful story. The end was painful to watch though. It was harsh...

  • amazing movie!

  • Call me crazy, but I'm actually going to reserve my judgment of the remake until I've actually seen it. A lot of remakes are shit, but some of them are good. I hate this pretentious contempt for everything Hollywood.

  • @TuchMySwrd

It probably stems from the tons of shit movies coming out of Hollywood all the fucking time.

  • Lol, anyone else start laughin at :50.

  • One of the most well made Korean, No! world's movies!

  • EPIC FAILURE CHINESE POLICE!!! lol

  • The Chaser is the best movie I have ever seen. A cinematic masterpiece was out of my seat the entire time. Love it.

  • i turn so angry everytime i hear hollywood's gonna film a remake. because in fact, they really like the story but not the korean style. they think a movie is worthier when stars (not asians or not "chink-looking people") are in the movie!!

  • awesome intense movie!

Korean films have come along way.

  • The Chaser will air on Sundance Channel this saturday at midnight

  • This is such a fucking joke. I can't believe THIS is how they'd market such a great film.

  • they're remaking this movie because americans don't like to read. silly americans...

  • Its almost comical that hollywood dont have new ideas and tries to steal other movies under the tablet "remake". Fuck the remake, this movie doesn't need a remake.

  • Nooooo!!! My heart just dropped when I heard there's going to be a remake...

Why do they have to remake movies that are already fantastic? I just saw this movie today and it was soo amazing. People need to learn how to read subtitles and make their own movies.

  • Bet movie Iv'e ever seen. Period. I've seen every single Korean movie... this one is superior by far.

  • Great Movie Loved The Lead Actor

  • The Asian versions are always better.. American Remakes suck ballzzz.. But I must say the Departed was better than the original.. Mainly because of Martin Scorceses.. But yeah this movie the chaser was badazz.. Don't like remakes but wouldn't mind seeing some Hollywood superstars play these crazy parts of this movie!!!

  • Now showing on Sundance Channel

  • hollywood remakes of excellent korean movies always tend to fail...just look at what happened to My Sassy Girl! Please hollywood leave this one alone!

  • why must they always remake great films and fuck them up in the process fucking retards

  • great movie. lousy trailer.

  • I already have symphathy for mr. vengeance and lady vengeance on dvd, maybe I should buy this one too.. looks very exciting!

  • there should be an international ban on hollywood to not allow them ruin any more movies....

  • good movie, shit ending.. watching this movie i felt so frustrated through most of the movie. wanted to jump into the screen and kill some of those people.

  • @hewantsthebeachball That's the point. There anger it causes the ex-cop is the same anger that the audience has towards the police's failure to bring in the criminal.

  • Just like Memories of Murder, but with a better ending. No remade please, the original is the best. You can't act like Koreans, you have to be a korean to act like those people. Indeed excellent and stunning movie. Highly recommended

  • i don't care if it's the team that brought 10 blockbusters. I don't know how this movie can be remade because the original is so fricking amazing! truly one of the top thriller movies of all time.

i highly recommend people see the original whether you're korean or not. it is a thriller movie at its perfection.

  • horrible trailer

  • excellent movie u people should also see if u didnt

  • The movie is great but this trailer sucks...

  • good movie.

  • Only the fact that this film was adapted from a true story makes me so scared. Cant go to sleep.

  • korean : thrillers/crime.japanese:ghost stories. french:art, intellectual, new wave horror=gore.spain:horror, fantasy, comedy dramas, these are the films we should see in their original format, not wait for the remake,LEARN TO READ WHILE YOU WATCH,how hard is,and STOP REMAKING AND RUINING THESE FILMS

  • noooooo don't remake it!!!!!!

  • Korean version is excellent!! I highly recommend the Korean version.

  • Is there any good Korean movies like this one. I totally loved watching this movie

  • Watch "Oldboy". In my opinion the best korean movie ever made.

  • a lot. I recommend Chanwook Park's movies like 'old boy'.

  • yes...there's Memories of Murder,Sympathy for mr vengence,Oldboy,Lady vengence...all great korean movies

  • I only knew there was a remake buy this trailer. That's not what a trailer's for. A trailer is supposed to get me interested in THAT film, not advertise a fucking remake

  • I'm french and I watched The Chaser in cinema four months ago, in Paris. Two times. Korean version, with french subtitles.

    MASTER PIECE

  • Argh! Spoiler alert!!!

  • really really good movie.

  • just saw the movie, for me it was pretty good

it was just missing something to make it a truly great film, so close to being great.

  • Why not release great foreign films like this in our movie theaters with subtitles. They do it with other movies, like Passion of the Christ and Pan's Labyrinth, so why can't people in the U.S. stop being sooooooo freaking lazy and actually watch the movie the way it was meant to be seen. I will be honest, Korean movies are among the best I have ever seen, certainly with much better acting then our films.

비열한 거리, or A Dirty Carnival, is my personal favorite Korean movie at the moment.

  • @ForceOfJustice

i agree that americans are lazy and hate to read.

  • how the hell are they going to remake it?!

The core of the movie centres on the social and poltical problems in korea that just aren't there in america!

  • i have to agree that this trailer really; doesn't do the film justice. I guess they figure mentioning the Departed will get english-speaking-film-only types into the theater. Terrible trailer that conveys nothing of the mood, tone, or gravity of the film, but if it gets people to watch the original, that's okay with me.

  • The original Korean trailer (the one they show in Cannes last year) is a lot a lot a lot better than this shit.

The remake is going to be a joke.

  • come on... why remaking the movie???

you will never reach the level of the original....

  • I'm half way through writing a screenplay, I've already been contacted by everyone who lives in Hollywood for the rights to remake it.

  • That's a very strong movie.

The trailer is a shit for a so good movie...

  • the moive is excellent.

but this trailer is trash.. how could they make a trailer like this haha ...

anyways, the movie is based on a true story that happened in Korea and the movie is more than what you can expect. i couldn't stand up at the theater after watching this movie. must see!!

  • excellent thriller coréen !! à voir !!

  • this movie is amazing u must see it people !!!!!!!!!!

  • The Chaser is Spectacular!!

  • Another remake ??

ARE THEY FUCKING KIDDING ME ??

  • 0.0

who the hell made this trailer?

It makes the movies look as if it's a piece of shit!!

    WHEN IT DEFINITELY ISN;T!!

this movie is really nice to watch

u'd feel ur pulse racing every minute

  • The Chaser (korea) and Chocolate (thai movie) is my favorite movies this year!

  • well they made it

  • correction, no one cares about America apart from Americans. Step outside your country and you might realise that

  • yesyes You are right! :D

  • @jockle1986 America can kick your shitty country's ASS!

  • @jayflo92008 Yeah see that is exactly what we dont like... You dont like us? Then we will just destroy you...

Thats the viewpoint of the schoolbully you know?

  • @jockle1986 Couldn't the same be said for any country? Contrary to ignorant belief, we're not as far up our own asses as your media seems to try and make you believe. Granted, our Capitalist system is infecting our entertainment industry to the point of zero creativity, that doesn't mean our people are whatever negative connotation you want to associate us with. As a half-Korean, half-American, I can tell you I've experianced more racism in S.Korea, than I have in 22 years living in the US.

  • @bigstabby Just out of curiosity what sort of racism have you experienced in South Korea. and why?

  • @Raider577 I've been there twice, the first when I was too young to remember, but my Dad (white) would come visit my mom (Korean) in this apartment complex where gangmembers with knives and machetes would stand outside and attack American GI's including my dad a couple times. They nearly killed his friend, trapping him under a car and hacking him up. The second was when I was 6. Some kids beat me up cuz I was only half Korean. This half korean girl I knew also went there and was called "nigger".

  • @bigstabby Oh I'm sorry to hear. I have been to America a few times and the racism we hear about tends to be exaggerated. Parts of Asia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East are far more racist. Even the Arab Muslim countries tend to be anti black. It;s because they dislike America that they focus on anything in America and blow it out of proportion.

  • @Raider577 Seriously? I've never been to Europe but I know many Europeans like to claim we're such a racist country. Easy to say when you're nearly racially homogeneous. But I've never actually really experianced any real racism here, apart from the expected Bruce Lee jokes growing up as a kid.lol But I'm sure none of these countries are HUGELY racist. Just can't call one country racist like it doesn't exist in yours. I love my country. I love lots of others as well.

  • @bigstabby Yes I like America too. In fact if I had to emigrate elsewhere America would be my first choice.

  • i saw this movie in korea it is awsome

  • Saw this movie in France, and yeah, it's a very good film :)

  • this movie was so good. It's fast, emotional, scary, gory, somewhat funny and sad, whatever. This trailer is really bad. Remake should never be made for the Chaser!!!

  • it was actually a good, i usually don't like suspense and horror movies because they suck like the abandoned or the grudge, etc. it's bloody but it's good.

  • why are usa people making remakes of asian movies?

  • Because nobody know how to write in usa, the industry is just a joke about themself.

  • i heard cuz people don't subtitles...

  • a lot of money is invested to some remake movies because they dont like subs? pff... than they like to throw money away

  • First, This film is inspired by true event in Korea. (one man killed more than 20 womans(most of them were slut) he got caught and sentenced to death. he's not dead yet.) Second, This film is director's first movie.(amazing!!)

Third, if you watched this movie, maybe you'll ask what is that jesus drawing all over the wall??

in fact, in the true event, police found a lot of drawings about woman, guns, etc in killer's house.

  • Young ChulYoo, I have this movie on DVD and love it, it's absolutely amazing, but also so sad.

  • youngchul yoo*

  • @baekjunkeol because they were sluts it's okay? AWESOME

  • where can i see this movie online? really want to watch it!

  • i think the remake shouldnt be done because the orginal was so good

but the departed a remake of a chinese movie, so i dont know

  • @rheoguq Korean movie, fuck, Korean. Chinese is shit compared to their shit

  • this movie is sooo fucked up

    but it was good

  • wow its really sad that hollywood's gonna ruin another great asian movie

  • @jwjan i love Korean cinema but in all fairness The Departed was the one exception in that it was far superior to Infernal Affairs. IA blew.

  • @jwjan agree with u 100%

  • I think remake should be illegal Watch the Original Korean Film!!

  • This movie is based on true event in Korea.

  • I just got through watching it 3 mins ago. It is definitely the best film of 2008. !@## remaking it.

  • dude, same here. I feel the movie is perfect enough for at least a limited release, no need for a remake.

  • Excellent movie...the best thriller I saw since Oldboy. And the fact that they both come from South Korea is paradigmatic of the the talent that is been coming from that country.

  • this movie is very popular in korea. and got many prizes.(p.s: I'm korean...)

  • Shit trailer for a brilliant movie. Fuck the remake go see this today.

  • Totally agree, the trailer looks very unimpressive, but the movie is such great. For me a 2008 favorite.

  • This film is awesome! I'm Korean and I suppose this is the best korean movie of this year. The actor(the falling cop) won the best actor of this year. and yeah, I agree with richaadd, i felt something wrong watching this trailer. It only shows some cruel sides of this film..

  • They use the same person to do the trailers for Asian films, it's annoying. And the movie isn't about finding the next victim, it's finding the current victim, and also finding evidence to sustain the killer in custody. At least translate correctly geez.

  • this movie is really good XD ppl should watch it
