"Cry Lonely" was written by Chris Knight and released on his "Enough Rope" CD on July 11, 2006. It is on CCR's latest CD, "Mission California" that was released on Oct. 2, 2007, making this a COVER SONG.

another point!!!!!! It's only a cover song if the artist that wrote it first releases it on their own as a single.... I do believe CCR is the only one to have it on a CD. If I'm wrong someone please tell me!

No this is a cover. Chris Knight, who wrote the song, released it on his latest album "Enough Rope"

Excuse ME! glad to know that info! It's kinda crazy that Red Dirt was about singer songwriters DOING THEIR OWN MUSIC and now they are all doing each others! That is a true sign that Red Dirt is growing with leaps and bounds! Who did who did is not the issue here now.... it's the fact that it is out there and people are making it know even if it wasn't theirs. Just like Kenny Chesney doing Randy Rogers~ Somebody take me home! I was surprised to find out the info on that song too.
