  • Jimmy bottled it

  • jimmy completeley dominated 3 sessions and was the better player but didnt have the bottle, he had no shortage of ability just couldn't hold his nerve. the pressure is so decisive in a game of such fine margins like snooker. if he had the bottle of hendry jimmy would have won at least 3 world titles.

  • desperate for jimmy to win at 14-8 i remember having a bath at 14-13 and crying my eyes out because i knew hendry would win, then went to bed because i was only 9. next morning looked at the back page of the paper and there was hendry grinning with the trophy i was gutted. my dad had taped the last few frames but i never watch them.

  • I remember this world championship well.Jimmy definitely should have won this year he played on a different level to everyone else hendry included then his game just seemed to disintegrate in the last 2 frames of the afternoon session and then the evening session was an absolute disaster.I dont care how well hendry played Jimmy was better than him and more than good enough to win the 4 frames he needed from 14-8 up.I was absolutely gutted that he didnt do it this year he definitely should have.

  • aspect ratio, audio sync

  • @UKArchiveTV

YouTube, reconfigured vids months after upload

  • I remember this very well, Jimmy is still the "best player never to have won the world title", gutted he lost that year

  • love it

  • Chris Small.

  • 2:28 who it's?

  • He's called Jim Wych (I remember saying "who?" at the time!). Did well though, getting as far as the quarter finals.

  • 2.25 is Jim Wych. QF in 1980 as well. 2.28 is an 18 year old Chris Small on his first appearance at The Crucible.

  • "This man (Jimmy White) is the Rolls Royce of snooker". Couldn't agree more....

  • dennis taylor should have been disqualified for questioning the refs integrity, very poor taylor

  • @TissuePrices spot on. spot on. a disgrace

  • Excellent! Does anyone have the full version of the 1996 'Don't Stop Me Now' one? Much better than the 2008 version with the same song!!!

  • Does the BBC still put together these kinda montages? Haven't seen much snooker in the last 8 years or so.

  • That bloody miss rule has buggered up the game.

  • Ah no... must be a bit of a buffer!

  • is this just me, or does the video stop a 3:09 ?

  • Thanks for uploading this, I remember this fondly.

Don't suppose you have the musical montage for "The Way We Were" by Barbara Streisand?

    Kind Regards..

  • Love all your videos fella - thanks for the memories.

  • mmmmm, well... 1992 is def. the year Jimmy played the best snooker of anyone by far in that tournament... this montage is just a reflection of that... sure, Hendry was almost flawless in those last few frames but Jimmy had his chances to increase his lead and who knows where the match would have gone after that?

  • Yes, well done but there seemed to be a majority of Jimmy White- Fans in that team - there's much more about him then about Stephen...

  • eh, perhaps because jimmy made a 147, only the second ever at the crucible at the time
