  • I really liked this game, i was very different compared to the sonic games out at the time. This aside from adventure 2 battle are games that i really want to see ported and immortalized on the xbox/playstation online markets

  • This is easily my favorite boss theme. Even outside of Sonic games.

  • 0 lives. 0 rings. I beat this guy. :P

  • Sonic 3D Music: The Final Fight [extended]=Sonic Chronicles The Dark Brotherhood:Mystic Ruins Remix.

  • I have talked with the composer of this song, Masaru Setsumaru.

Cool dude, but he hasn't responded in months.

  • Best theme throught out the entire game...i kept losing not cuz the boss was hard it was to keep hearing this

  • If I ever become a boss in a video game, I want to have multiple forms with different themes.

This will be one of those themes.

  • With all the re-imaginings of this soundtrack that have been done (Sonic Adventure, Sonic 4...) I'm surprised this track didn't find its way into other games, it's definitely one of the coolest tracks and its ambiguity could have it suitable for a variety of situations.

  • i love the part from 2:40 to 2:45

  • I love this song!! Even though the final boss annoyed me when I was a kid,I always continued just for this. :D

  • BEST THEME EVER!!! BLAST PROCESSING BABY!!!!! PERFECT EXAMPLE THAT BETTER TECHNOLOGY DOESNT MAKE A BETTER SONG !!!! SEGA GENESIS 4 LIFE BABY

  • This sounds like it should be in megaman starforce 3 for blackhole area

  • This game was kind of the start of the legacy for 3D sonic games, A couple good pieces of music, not so good gameplay.

  • They remixed this in Sonic Chronicles for Mystic Forest. :P

  • @MrTofuman124 yea but iv played it and its actully kinda shity for that kind cinsol {ds}

  • Very Yuzo-Koshiro-ish

  • This music seems to complement the boss in a more subtle way. Like a "what's coming next" kind of feeling as Dr. Robotnik uses a variety of weapons in an attempt to dispose of Sonic.

  • this reminds me of technoviking lol search it and rofl

  • I love this one better than the Saturn version. Final Boss themes don't always HAVE to sound evil and dark. This one just has the feeling of, "I'm in the final level, and it all comes down to this."

  • @Alej9fl LOL thats why i like this song better than the saturn version too! (i really like the beginning of this song!)

  • oh.

  • The most disappointing thing in the entire game is, no Super Sonic! After getting all the Chaos Emeralds shaped like Halls medicine, no Super Sonic. This isn't the best Sonic game ever made, but the music here is memorable.

  • One of my favorite final boss themes.

Because of how much it conveys a final boss without having to break in the rock band. It's got its own kind of tension to it giving the boss a "this is it" feeling. It is a subtle and silent kind of epicness that doesn't happen often with music.

  • My Favorite Final Boss Theme.

It's just weird and Strange, but catchy at the same time.

It manages to sound both pop-like but dark and creppy at the same time, few composers manage to do something like that.

  • This song was doing back in 1996 what a lot of artists are doing in 2010.

  • i have been looking for this!!!! i am pop locking to this as i speak!!!!

  • Very ethereal sound. This is probably my favorite version.

  • Strange and otherworldly. It's not your usual final boss fare, but it definitely sticks with you.

  • This was a great theme, but it sounded too cheerful for a final boss. The Saturn version was more fitting.

  • Jesus this boss was annoying!

  • Not to be mean, but this song sounds nothing special compared to the other two boss tunes in the game.

  • fun and all. but damn. hard to figure out that its really simple :p

  • For those who say that this doesn't sound/look like a Final Boss fight:

The entire area looks like it's inside a computer, an empty matrix - at start, your all alone, & then Robotnik's comes in different areas to attack you & you get a sence of progression as you transport to one small area to another, like Level 1 to Level 2.

This music describes you (Sonic) are all alone inside a dark area/matrix with Robotnik pursuing you. A different perspective to the usual predictable final fights.

  • @HyperShan3 My thoughts exactly, well put.

  • @SuperAtsura Thanks mate! =)

  • @HyperShan3 You nailed that one on the head. I tip my hat to you, sir.

  • @TreatyMusic Thanks! ^^

  • @HyperShan3 and to add to that. The setting in the saturn version of this boss fight is far too cliche' for my liking. Climactic orchestral music that sounds generic plays in the background as well.

  • @playstationninja Very true. This version of the fight should be the definitive one.

  • This song remains one of the most mysterious Sonic tracks out of all of the Sonic games. I wish it was featured in Sonic Adventure.

  • The part I hate fighting the final boss is that the machine shoots the balls until I found a way to avoid it, you have to got to the top left corner and stay there until he comes appearing, giving you the chance to hit him.

  • Oh that's nice.

  • Wasnt this music remixed for "Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood"?

  • @Darkspinethezolrace Yes, alot of songs from Sonic 3D/Blast and other old Sonic games tracks were remixed for Sonic Chronicles...

  • @Darkspinethezolrace "Mystic Ruins", don't remind me!

  • Sorry but i have to disagree wiith some comments. This song sounds nothing like an EXCEPTIONAL final fight theme. Id hve to say they should have panic puppet zone act 2. Though i love every other song, this one just doesnt sound at all like a final fight theme. I do like this song very much. Sonic 3D is also a great game and i mean no offence to anyone.

  • It sort of had a little 'victory music' vibe to it. Weird.

  • probably my favorite boss theme cause it just has an ominous and space like feel to it. Its not your traditional final boss theme which is why i like it compared to the saturn version

  • Sega's downfall was mosly caused by themself.

They overestimated themself and created like more consoles than Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft put together.

And not everyone wanted to buy a new console every few months... even the biggest Sega fans.

  • Wow, this music is really good

  • Nice song.

Idk why but almost has a sad feel to it...

Sonic games were always cool, but the Dreamcast killed Sega for good.. or I should say, Nintendo outlasted them and Sony put them in their grave

  • It's probably just the mellow tone to the beat. I kinda got the same vibe

  • The Dreamcast had a lot of good games, I don't know why they didn't last.

  • Of all the final bosses in sonic (on sega of course), this one was probably the toughest...the only others i played (Sonic 1, Sonic 2) had final bosses that weren't that hard...

  • my most favorite final battle theme

  • man all these sonic songs take me down memory lane.... my dad bought me a sega and sonic 1 for christmas when I was 3 years old, roughly 17-18 years ago... such classic games.

  • I got a Sega for Christmas Too! and around the same time!

  • this was posted on my birthday

  • I was a little bit scared of floatin hand, then played it 0_0

  • agreed. lol.

frikkin long too.. Robotnik was not playin that time around lol

  • Eggman/Robotnik gets serious everytime 2 versions of the same sonic game gets to many differences

  • this sounds like it should be boss music in a Megaman Battle Network game

  • Blue Bomber aint got shit on the Blue Blur. ; D

  • this doesn't sound like final boss music, way too calm.

  • ah...the best music from my childhood. the memories. I also remember how damn annoying this boss was lol.

  • i love this song so much its like you in a computer wolrd keep up the good work sonicKAl

  • Sounds like last level music, for when you're fighting millions of robots and repeated bosses fighting your way to the climatic end boss.

  • cool this was posted on my brothers birthday

  • Some kinda House music, reminds me a bit of Earthbound battle music.

  • For some reason, back in the day when I listened to the sound test, I always imagined this theme being Knuckles' theme. Cuz of the tribal drums and that enigmatic melody. But as a final boss theme, it truly is epic.

  • He's using the power of those giga-rings to power it. And yes, he is annoying XP

  • this is in sonic chronicles

  • @nessy17142

sonic chronicles took this music and remixed it

  • I dunno, but it's likely.

  • Oh wow...

This is incredible. Even for Sonic standards (which are really high). I never had this game but this is amazing

  • this is an ok tune for a bonus stage, especially a casino-themed bonus stage, NOT a final boss battle.

  • Yeah, you're right. It seemed WAY out of place for any boss, much less the last one.

    It's still a good song...just not for that :P

  • inside an evil slot machine?

  • Epic music.

  • That's a tough question. But, I would have to say Genesis.

  • I don't know much about this one. But I gotta say, it has the catchiest music of the sonic franchise!

( And here I thought I played every Sonic game out, until now...)

  • This Final boss/fight track really is epic - My top 3 is:

    3. Sonic 3D Flickies Island (Mega Drive) - Final Boss

    2. Sonic 2 - Final Boss

    1. My favorite final boss of all time is Sonic 3 & Knuckles! That final boss theme is just sooo damn epic!! =D

  • this sounds so epic and techno, i love it! XD

  • Listen to it in HQ! &fmt=18

  • This version absolutely destroys the Saturn version. I don't know why they didn't carry over the soundtrack . . . the Genesis soundtrack was superior in pretty much every aspect.

  • see, it's like i like some songs from genesis, and some songs from saturn. should have had a switch thru option for which song you wanted to hear.

  • They wanted to compose a brand new soundtrack instead of re-composing the old one, simple as that.

Just think of how awesome the Gen music would sound composed by 'ol Richard!

  • I think u feel that way because its a little gimmickey to have an orchestral dramatic sound track at the end. This one sounds more sinister without sounding too dramatic. Thats why the genesis version is superior to the saturn version of this song

  • @rws10923

Nah, the Saturn version was better, especially act 2 of Rusty ruins in the Saturn.

  • @rws10923 Your own opinions.

Fuck the contrasting aspects. I like both.

  • @rws10923 yeah this is sure

they should have redone this version

    CD quality

  • @rws10923 i never got the genisis version i only had the saturn and they didnt have final battle music as good as this but i do remeber i had to use cheats to fight the final boss because i just wanted to get to him.

  • @rws10923 Cough *Volcano Valley Zone* Cough

  • @rws10923

Probably because the Saturn soundtrack was made first to take advantage of CD audio, while the Genesis soundtrack was only made because the Saturn soundtrack wouldn't have been possible on the Genesis in the first place.

  • do you have the original GYM music file?

  • Oh, by the way, I meant to say that Sonic 3D Blast may not have been the best Sonic game, but it had the best sounding music and was the best looking MD/GEN (Megadrive/Genesis) game for 1996.

  • Is this extended version available for download?

  • I personally think looping a soundtrack from a game is cool n_n; I like this track, and I can listen to it, and honestly say I like it alot!

  • The music for this game was awesome, too bad the game itself wasn't very good.

  • the game wasn't very good? are you mad, too? this game gave sonic the oportunity of being played with different sprites, and I think it was magnificent

  • So, sprites made the game for you? Seriously?

  • lol; great comment

  • I was asked to create an extended version, so I did.

  • ok :/

  • the less epic of all boss battle theme? are you mad? this music is the MOST epic of old school sonic's battle themes, and it's very very good, I don't get tired of listening to it...get lost, dude

  • Are you from other planet? this theme is great for a final battle, very much epic and deep.

I love Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles, but only Sonic & Knuckles' soundtrack was made by Jun Senoue. and Sonic 3D wasn't a deception, I know all games from old school Sonic, because I'm from old school, and Sonic 3D gave me the marvelous oportunity of seing Sonic in a different perspective. the levels are magnificent, the music is magnificent and epic, and the graphics are very good for a 1996 game.

  • @devouringone3 shut the fuck up SonicKAI can make extended versions whenever he wants even when someone asks him to

  • @SuPeRsOnIc363541 I never said he couldn't, I just said it sucked.

  • @devouringone3 then why are you watching it if it sucks?

  • @SuPeRsOnIc363541 I don't remember how I came here but I was mad at every people saying this song was epic... in my opinion it is the less epic song of a great game.

Maybe mad at the 24k views too, lol...

  • @devouringone3 well i kinda think the song is bad too so i'm with you

  • @SuPeRsOnIc363541 thanks :D

  • @devouringone3 your welcome :)

  • you said you would give me the extended version -_- all you gave me was a 2min version... I already have that one. I want the 6+ minutes of awesome that you made urself XD

  • A new version is on it's way to you.

  • Well, you're just completely awesome. Sending me a 15min version XD That's insane. Thanx a lot, I appreciate it.

  • i never got this from you XD I still want it really bad XD

  • Is there anyway you can send me this? I mean... I downloaded the song myself... but its only like 1min and 49 seconds. I love how you extended it XD

  • i have this game and i have mega drive =D

  • this was the only one of the old sonic games i could finish with all emeralds and even this was hard

  • it is not one of the best game of Sonic because you have to get all the emeralds and that maked me pist off sorry for that

  • It's a great song, has a battle feel and a waiting in an elevator with Sonic with his iPod up too loud. :P

  • Thanks for the upload of this truly amazing music.

BTW, has anyone found that computer room yet?

  • the last five commenters said "Nice" lol!

  • Nice. Simple, but still manages to be one of the most epic video game songs of all time.

  • Nice!

  • Nice.

  • Nice
