I've heard a lot of people say they think Silent Hill 2 is the scariest in the franchise, but Silent Hill 3 was always the one to give me shivers. Silent Hill 2 sets a more depressing tone, it relies a lot on colour and mood to set the scene. SH3 seems to isolate the player immediately and throw whatever it can at them. Frightening stuff indeed. Great speedrun by the way!

Why do you turn off the torch around enemies?

because the enemies are attracted to light ,and sound, and will attack you if its on. in SH3 they can even be attracted by smell.

The reason he turns the torch off is this:

If you have the torch on while running up to an enemy, they will see you from far away and attack you... If the light is off, they will see you when you are close, try to attack, but miss since you are far enough away.

dude you dont even stop to fight monsters! thats the best part of any horror/survival game but then again its a speed run so you can really afford to waste time like that... still you should fight the odd monster here and there
