"Live and let live" attitude? I guess I got the wrong memo, because I always assumed her motto was "Live and let live 'til I shoot it from a helicopter."
Conservatism, Huntermann, involves the preservation of personal and local freedom through limited, free market politics. For conservatives, the goal is not entitlement but opportunity. Conservatism, therefore, is inherently opposed to fundamentalist, biblically relativist state agenda and the legislation of marriage entitlement (DOMA, legislated by CLINTON) Conservatism, has nothing to do with retrograde prejudice against women, blacks, or the lgbt community.
I Love this Video and also I checked out your Channel. Very interesting! If you need any help getting this Video and your Channel exposed to were it is top in all the search I found this site called tubeviews.(net) that has took my breath away. I'm working on my 4th Channel now, this one I just made. My Videos are getting so many hits now. Check it out and keep in touch.
To me being gay and republican sounds like a joke, kinda like a vegetarian who cooks at a steakhouse, or a blind person working as a graphic artist... Left, liberal, socialist, communist, etc. any gays that are of those parties is fine, but republican?! You must be kidding.
I am writing a paper and doing a presentation on same-sex marriage. I want to argue on behalf of it. I want to argue my support but I don't know where to start...however the idea of log-cabin republicans is now hovering in my mind. so if of you homosexuals (whom i support completely...though i am not one) have any advice please help me.
This video is absolute untruth. Yes, we have learned more and more about Palin's record (and her 2006 veto) since this was recorded. But LCR had enough information from day one to know that her record is not an "inclusive" one. They chose to ignore it in favor of partisan politics.
thank you for the post-I am so glad I am not the only gay that believes in the Mccain Palin ticket. I believe the republicans need to be more inclusive-- a few more blacks jews and gays would help balance the partys---i do not want to think that the democrats have my vote simply because I was born gay and proud and a reagan democrat this year for mccain
subm2m I think you would be insane to vote for a party/ticket who thinks you are an abomination of nature, a desease, a 10th class citizen and NOT protected under any discriminatory law. If you like to be treated and let others fellows gay and lesbians be treated like shit, then you vote republican. If you want to have a hope of making things better for them, then vote democrat. On that issue, theres little to no room for arguing about that.
LOL Log Cabin Republicans have lost there mind, yet again. Just like when they liked Bush, then turned back around and hated him. Wake up! The con don't like you! They only want your vote! After there in office they will shaft you just like Bush tired his best to do. Wait and see.
Eyewrenche is absolutely right! it is absoultely incompatible to be gay and support the Republican party. AND Palin is the biggest right wing nut, fundamentalist religious sob you could see!! Log Cabin wants to have their pockets full and fuck the gay community. They are the worst it could happen to the cummonity: someone who supports a candidate/party that want to see them DEAD. Simple as that people, Republican party is ANTIGAY all the way! WAKE UP!
That's such an unfortunate way of thinking. You, as have I in the past, have been misinformed. Neither party right now supports our right to marry, assumably due to religious beliefs..Obama's a Christian and so are McCain and Palin, don't forget that. You are also generalizing an entire party--shame shame! You also forget how important it is to have gay republicans..We need gays inside the party to help reform it on gay issues..without that, we as gay people, are fucked
I have no misinformed as you assume out of nowhere since my posting mention anything about gay marriage. I am well informed about the democrat ticket not supporting gay marriage. I am talking about the Republican Party based on their "manifesto" given out during the republican convention. Have you read it? If you did you might have noticed that sexual orientation or gender identity is NOT included in any of their statements about hate crime, discrimination and so on. THAT is a shame for a party!
Hey, I'm a democrat who supports same-sex marriage. I may be straight but i'm not stupid nor heartless. I'm Pro-choice, pro-love, and totally equality of everyone. I think gays and lebians should be allowed the same marriage that we have...and marriage is not sacred at all. AT ALL! don't let anyone tell you other wise.
Hey, Im fully wit you bud. I would advice you to start your presentation doing a pararelism with the balck civil rights movement and also interracial marriage (Loving v. Virginia, 1967) and both rulings of the Supreme Court in those cases. Also you could talk about the differences between marriage and civil unions, how the CA Supreme court ruled based on those differences, and also many other studies showing c. unions create a sense of second class citizenship. Good luck!
that sounds good...I like that. I am really wanting to knock the heads (figuritively) off my peers in the class who are all like pro-life (and pro-war which makes no sense) and anti-same-sex marriage.
You can easily do that if you make them sound ilogic when you refute all their statements with something smarter. Believe me, there is nothing they could possibly say in favor of their "conservative" ideas and specially against the gay civil rights movement.
Said it before and I will say it again how can you be Gay (well I understand that) but how the hell can you be Gay and ALSO be in the REPUBLICAN PARTY? WTF???
Do you Log Cabin people actually think that Palin is your friend? if you think that you really are deluded.
Youve got to be kidding. What side are the LCR are on. A person they hardly know. A gun-totting religious nut. Iam glad we have a 3day waiting period.
Palin vetoed the bill not because she thought it was "the right thing" to do, but because she was advised by the Alaska Dept. of Law that the bill was unconstitutional. She has never offered support for domestic partner benefits, and is strongly opposed to same-sex marriage. The idea that Palin is somehow a moderate on same sex issues is foolish wishful thinking. And why any self-respecting gay person would want to be a Republican these days?! Independent or Dem makes much more sense.

There are a lot of miss understandings of history:
Halford Mackinder helped Hitler with Mien Kamph. Hitler wrote a lot about how capitalism is the enemy of socialism.
The Marxist Dino Grandi was Mussolinis closest adviser. Dino Grandi created the Black shirts.
