dont comment on something you obviously kno nothing about.saying he is full of proteins? u say it like it is a bad thing preotein is an essential body fuel needed for growth and repair. If you put the body under alot of strain thru training thenu need adequate amounts of protein to aid recovery.
saying your in better shape then scooby after 2 years of training is most likely bull, the average body can only put on 12lbs of muscle a yr so in 2 yrs u look beta yea rite!
I have seen a few of your videos now and I have decided to start a new diet and exercise plan with the guidance of your videos. I am only young but I still want to gain some muscle because I am quite skinny. I was just wondering, at what rate would I gain muscle using the begginer home workout? I was hoping that I might have some definate improvements in 3 month from now.
Scooby, does weightlifting decrease one's height? i know that weightlifting does not stunt growth but i'm worried that it might decrease the height. Reply pls.
hey scooby, just wondering, because on the video im talking about (the hip push-up one), u said not to do the push-ups on your hands, since you could hyper-extend them. my question is, is it okay to do push-ups on your palms when you are doing normal pushups, where your hands are off to the side? thanks, and i really appreciate the great videos
scooby already stated that starting a workout program is the perfect time because you don't really have an excuse for not exercising. Everday life gets in the way; but once you start a routine several days in a row it gets easier to discipline yourself. Hope this was helpful.
LOL! Set are short for sets. I really love watching and following or building up a work out from an array of the thing you do in your videos. I just done your killer chest work out. i noticed that my left arm feels like its hurting at the joints is this because there could be some thing wrong with my left arm or because its not as stronge?

guys i am 13 if i do pushups crunches and use a fitness band at my age will this stunt my growthi do it for 30 minutes 4 times a week and what about squats with NO WEIGHTS I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT WEIGHTS I AM TALKING ABOUT BODYWEIGHT EXERCISES! I DONT LIFT WEIGHTS
go to his website he has a lot of answers there it tells you 'bout growth and lotz of stuff you should start workin out at at least 19 for best results i think....cuz really young i guess you should take it easy....
He did 5 because he weights much and he did them slowly. 5 pull ups can be more effective than 25 push ups if you do them right. Or 20 push ups can be more effective than 100.
perfect example as to why bulky guys can't do pull ups. his legs are not together and his lower abs are chunky. youtube search hannibal ghetto workout.
1 question: The more muscles I have the more energy gets burned while i m doing anything (walking, and so on) so if i eat regular but i have more muscles i should losse fat right??
If you have more muscles, your weight is more, cause muscles weight almost 5 times more than fat. Only by your weight you lose more fat, cause if you workout you don't use your all muscle cabapility, cause you need more weight or more harder training to force all of those tiny muscles to work, hope this help you.
How did he do them wrong, youve probably never worked out before lol, ive been working out for two years and pull ups are a great workout. Chin ups are opposite grip buddy.
i'm about 16 years old and not in the best shape could be.
i can do only up to 12 pushups(maybe 15) but at the 2nd set i'm allready unable to pull it off to 10 pushups. and in the 3rd set i cant do more then 6 pushups.
i'm not really fat or anything( 70kg, 183cm tall) but i gues that my arms and chest are pretty weak.
well im not scooby but im 14 and i also workout and i learned from his videos to use perfect form so do knee pushups if the allow u to use perfect form through out the whole workout
I agree with monimstarfox. Definitely drop to knee pushups if you cant keep the form perfect. Just focus on trying to get stronger, try and do one more rep than the previous week. Eventually you will be cranking them out.
i had the same too, you just gotta push the bar a little further each time. so if you easily get to 20, don't just do 20 but try to do 30 instead. do that until you can do 30 easily, then do 40 instead. That method really helped me.
its simple, to know how many times u need to do push ups and crunches in each set, find your average before u get tired, it can be 10,20, 30 100, etc anything, just remember, on the next set u must do the same amount of push ups or even one more, so dont do too much and be exhausted at the first set. my advice, when u get to your last set, do more than your normal, push yourself, u must feel your muscle, push yourself, thats how your muscle will develop, by pushing yourself to the limit.
Man boobs and love handles are not natural. It's just that it is so common in America, people may think its natural. Man boobs and love handles are actually from extra body fat. Seeing that you're only thirteen and the problem has nothing to do with muscle, you shouldn't bodybuild yet. Start by doing cardio. Try 4-6 hours of cardio a week. Diffferent types of cardios include
oh! speaking of cycling, i do bmxing. i know its not a long distance cycling but its kinda intense sometimes, so can i do bmxing instead of normal traditional cycling?
i want to start loosing weight and growing bigger muscles and 6 packs, but i dun know where to start. i am a little overweight but i have broad shoulders, so i look a little tough. i just want a simple v-shape body, nothing big like body builders.
1. should i loose my weight completely then build my muscles and packs or do i do both?
2. if do both, do i only concentrate on the parts i want to get bigger? or is there a routine i should follow that covers everything?
I would definitely start with a complete body workout, dont just focus on certain favorite bodyparts. Check out my website under "Workout Plans>BeginnersWorkout" for a good beginners program. If you can, do it all at once. Focus on nutrition (for weight loss), do daily cardio (for weight loss) and do the above weight lifting program to add muscle.
Thanks for the videos, I appreciate the info posted in each one. Can't believe I forgot to subscribe earlier, but with a quick search I found your videos again!
No weight lifting does not stunt your growth (see my website under "Myths>StuntedGrowth", having said that, IMHO you are too young to start lifting weights. I'd rather see you playing soccer, basketball, or skateboarding with your spare time.
hi scooby good video very important video for all of the people starting to workout and i send u a request please accept so i can ask u some questions
guys i am 13 years old and i want to start lifting weights if i lift weights at my age will it stunt my growth please reply back note i am a little short for my age thank you so much
It is advised that you don't do any sort of weight lifting until you're over 18, because that's when, if any time, you're growth should slow down, meaning you shouldn't get much taller after that.
Natural bodybuilding does not stunt growth in any way. And it's a great boost if a younger person does it for later in life. Plus, The body fat won't be bad at all when they get older, so the jo\urney to cuttong after bulking won't be as hard as a person who doesn;t work out until 18. As you can see, most people in america are obese, 1/20 people you see aren't fat imo.
I never said it would stunt your growth, just going along with what is advised, because muscles are still extending and whatnot when you're still growing. It can just cause stress, I dunno.
No weight lifting does not stunt your growth (see my website under "Myths>StuntedGrowth", having said that, IMHO you are too young to start lifting weights. I'd rather see you playing soccer, basketball, or skateboarding with your spare time.
Hi scooby, I've seen many of your videos, however, I'm only 16 and I don't know if starting to workout so soon may be bad to me or to my growing.
What do you think? Right now, I only do push-ups, workout my abs and lift some really light weights to work my biceps. What should I do and avoid doing? What is the appropriate age to start working out and getting a muscular body?
dude, im 13 and i'm already going to the gym and lifting weights....so id say 3 years ago is a good time to start, or now it's not gonna stunt your growth or anything, ive been doing it and im 6"1
I would wait till age 17 or 18 to lift weights but in the meantime I would dive into other sports like soccer, basketball, martial arts or skateboarding.
you got to lift heavy in order to get bigger. sorry to say this but if you have been paying for a gym membership for more than a month and you see no results, you are being way to lazy.
what makes you say im wrong? i want to find the idiot who told you my info is wrong. me and many others are living proof that lifting heavy gets you bigger. go fuck yourself.
yes thats true. however, its a known fact that for your AVERAGE normal lifter you want to get bigger you have to lift heavy and eat your protein and basically stuff your face in with the right foods for size gains.
LOL omg!! i already have buddy! stop prancing around youtube acting like you know everything. lifting changed my life 8 months ago from cardio and lifting heavy. now im going to cut back weights and go for more reps to lean out. so you can stop where your at bud!!
but isn't it better to be lean and ripped than BIG? and he's jst saying is it possible to grow a BIT not like some bigass monster with arms bigger than a watermelon
read what the idiot said to me kid. and its better to pack on some weight then to be lean weak. you dont want to be lean and weak now do you? lift heavy, get big, cut back on "some" food, eat your protein everyday, cut back on some weights, do more reps. and now you have size, and lean muscle.go to bodybuildingdotcom. youtube wont cut it dude trust me i was really weak at first 8 months ago.
True, but I wouldnt put it the way you did because when you say "lift heavy to get big", many people incorrectly interpret that to mean use heavy weights with horrible form - this does not work and can get you injured. I would say "Muscle mass follows strength, true strength". You cant fool your body into making more muscle by cheating and using heavier weights than you can control.
well of course, you would have to use at least 80% of your one rep max so you can a sufficient amount of reps in to break down the muscle fibers. and again form is always something you should remember to have when lifting. everyone doesnt ave the right idea of what im saying. if anyone thinks i meant to lift heavy weights just to have your arms flying everywhere trying to control the weight and not doing anything but hurting yourself is just wrong. go to bodybuildingdotcom youll understand then.
Hey scooby is drinking raw eggs good for buildy muscles cuz they say its rich of protiens...i know it sounds discusing but is it sientifecly true?? thnx :)
ya it is, but if u think it tastes disgusting, i think you should buy protein bars or protein shakes. but remember your body generally has protein from the things you ate, so drinking raw eggs isn't exactly necesary.
Gymnasts don't do a huge amount of weight lifting but have amazing physiques, which many would call ideal. Their workouts involve a lot of body-weight exercise, so yes, Scooby's exercises done regularly and correctly over a period of time should help build toned muscle.
You really don't need an expensive gym membership.
This vacation workout is just an intro workout to get you started and if you only did this, the gains would cease. You dont necessarily need a weight set but you would need a more advanced workout. See my vids, I have many advanced pushups you can do without buying any equipment. Pullups too, once you get so strong that they seem a waste of time, hold somthing heavy between your legs while doing them. Check out my website under "Workout Plans" for some workout schedules.
thank u so much this was such a good workout for me although so tough i almost ripped a new buthole i have a new sence of confidence with my rockin bod :]
scooby seems so down to earth! hes so humble and kind in his instructions. he seems very gentle even though he could fucking rip you in two. keep up the good work!
You shouldn't pull the bar to the back of your head. I know it's very common and even reccomended by some coachs, but why would someone do an strentgh exercise that obligates to take the spine to an awkward position.
Question! When you're doing pull-ups, does it matter how you position your hand on the handle bars? Like, can I hold on like you would on a bike or could I also hold on backward? Much obliged!
The grip you use determines what muscles are being worked. With your palms out and a wide grip the main muscle you are working is the latissimus dorsi. Palms away with a more narrow grip works you Rhomboids and your forearms. With your palms facing you you are working mostly your biceps.
Wrong. Pull-ups are pull-ups. If you do them underhand, you're still working-out your back, but you're working-out your biceps more. If you're doing them overhand, you are working your back-out more.
Doin pullups with the bar behind your head is VERY stressful on your shoulder and makes you prone to injury. I stongly suggest you do them with the bar in front of your face.
i mean i've been following your videos since lat january and i remeber not even doing 1 PULL UP LMAOOO! embarasssing but i'm telling you now i can now do to a maximum of 20!
like i mean i try and i can do it and push ups i can do 70 i used to do like 10 lol and the abs and nutrition vids helped me alot biceps everything! PEOPLE FOLLOW THESE LISTEN CAREFULLY IT HELPS TRUST
damn it.. where do you live? that is like a paradise.. i wish i could go to such places for training :(

gielg1991 3 years ago
guys i am 13 years old and i want to start lifting weights if i lift weights at my age will it stunt my growth please reply back note i am a little short for my age thank you so much
waffles12341234 3 years ago
It is advised that you don't do any sort of weight lifting until you're over 18, because that's when, if any time, you're growth should slow down, meaning you shouldn't get much taller after that.
abarimaru 3 years ago
Natural bodybuilding does not stunt growth in any way. And it's a great boost if a younger person does it for later in life. Plus, The body fat won't be bad at all when they get older, so the jo\urney to cuttong after bulking won't be as hard as a person who doesn;t work out until 18. As you can see, most people in america are obese, 1/20 people you see aren't fat imo.
Corruptedd 3 years ago
I never said it would stunt your growth, just going along with what is advised, because muscles are still extending and whatnot when you're still growing. It can just cause stress, I dunno.
abarimaru 3 years ago

Thank you.

I would wait till age 17 or 18 to lift weights but in the meantime I would dive into other sports like soccer, basketball, martial arts or skateboarding.

hi scooby i'm done of paying gym every month and I want to try something new
it is possible to grow a bit just doing these exercises? otherwise I'm going to buy a set of dumbells
answer please!
btw I love your videos!
peace
LycandecK 3 years ago
you got to lift heavy in order to get bigger. sorry to say this but if you have been paying for a gym membership for more than a month and you see no results, you are being way to lazy.
VJuniorDzV 3 years ago
your wrong
s2moonshadows2 3 years ago
what makes you say im wrong? i want to find the idiot who told you my info is wrong. me and many others are living proof that lifting heavy gets you bigger. go fuck yourself.
VJuniorDzV 3 years ago
Chill out comrade.
Some people start to gain muscle mass and loose fat cells faster/after less effort than others. Different people - different metabolism.
HydroShock91 3 years ago
yes thats true. however, its a known fact that for your AVERAGE normal lifter you want to get bigger you have to lift heavy and eat your protein and basically stuff your face in with the right foods for size gains.
VJuniorDzV 3 years ago
Agreed with your "AVERAGE" argument, as well as with the "stuff your face in with the right foods for size gains".
Anyway...
Best of luck on packing that muscle and health on, comrade.
HydroShock91 3 years ago
LOL omg!! i already have buddy! stop prancing around youtube acting like you know everything. lifting changed my life 8 months ago from cardio and lifting heavy. now im going to cut back weights and go for more reps to lean out. so you can stop where your at bud!!
VJuniorDzV 3 years ago
but isn't it better to be lean and ripped than BIG? and he's jst saying is it possible to grow a BIT not like some bigass monster with arms bigger than a watermelon
WaTeRpOoPfArT 3 years ago
read what the idiot said to me kid. and its better to pack on some weight then to be lean weak. you dont want to be lean and weak now do you? lift heavy, get big, cut back on "some" food, eat your protein everyday, cut back on some weights, do more reps. and now you have size, and lean muscle.go to bodybuildingdotcom. youtube wont cut it dude trust me i was really weak at first 8 months ago.
VJuniorDzV 3 years ago
Hey VJuniorDzV,
True, but I wouldnt put it the way you did because when you say "lift heavy to get big", many people incorrectly interpret that to mean use heavy weights with horrible form - this does not work and can get you injured. I would say "Muscle mass follows strength, true strength". You cant fool your body into making more muscle by cheating and using heavier weights than you can control.
scooby1961 3 years ago
well of course, you would have to use at least 80% of your one rep max so you can a sufficient amount of reps in to break down the muscle fibers. and again form is always something you should remember to have when lifting. everyone doesnt ave the right idea of what im saying. if anyone thinks i meant to lift heavy weights just to have your arms flying everywhere trying to control the weight and not doing anything but hurting yourself is just wrong. go to bodybuildingdotcom youll understand then.

Hey scooby is drinking raw eggs good for buildy muscles cuz they say its rich of protiens...i know it sounds discusing but is it sientifecly true?? thnx :)
Tq0ThE0pAiN0019 3 years ago
ya it is, but if u think it tastes disgusting, i think you should buy protein bars or protein shakes. but remember your body generally has protein from the things you ate, so drinking raw eggs isn't exactly necesary.

Gymnasts don't do a huge amount of weight lifting but have amazing physiques, which many would call ideal. Their workouts involve a lot of body-weight exercise, so yes, Scooby's exercises done regularly and correctly over a period of time should help build toned muscle.
You really don't need an expensive gym membership.
grrrpoop 3 years ago
This vacation workout is just an intro workout to get you started and if you only did this, the gains would cease. You dont necessarily need a weight set but you would need a more advanced workout. See my vids, I have many advanced pushups you can do without buying any equipment. Pullups too, once you get so strong that they seem a waste of time, hold somthing heavy between your legs while doing them. Check out my website under "Workout Plans" for some workout schedules.

You shouldn't pull the bar to the back of your head. I know it's very common and even reccomended by some coachs, but why would someone do an strentgh exercise that obligates to take the spine to an awkward position.
afonsollima 3 years ago
Question! When you're doing pull-ups, does it matter how you position your hand on the handle bars? Like, can I hold on like you would on a bike or could I also hold on backward? Much obliged!
mxv1845 3 years ago
The grip you use determines what muscles are being worked. With your palms out and a wide grip the main muscle you are working is the latissimus dorsi. Palms away with a more narrow grip works you Rhomboids and your forearms. With your palms facing you you are working mostly your biceps.
DAWJ1993 3 years ago
Wrong. Pull-ups are pull-ups. If you do them underhand, you're still working-out your back, but you're working-out your biceps more. If you're doing them overhand, you are working your back-out more.
Mrx111 3 years ago
Doin pullups with the bar behind your head is VERY stressful on your shoulder and makes you prone to injury. I stongly suggest you do them with the bar in front of your face.

so... should I do the barbell curl with a little less weight?... I can´t do 8 reps with the same weight I'm using now.
I´m thinking about changing the "hammer curl" for "barbell curl" with the palms facing down.
Or what do you recomend me?
moralesparra 3 years ago
wht about runing

I would like to know your opinion on my biceps routine
6 reps of extended barbell curl
6 reps from the waist to the shoulders, sitting in a chair
6 reps hammer curl with low weight
I Rest
1 min after the first set
1.30 min after the second set
