Creosote Fire in Metal Chimney, Sweep the Whole Pipe

I was a first hand witness to an awesome chimney fire...this guy was burning large amounts of this pine type of wood. You'd see him on the roof beating off the creosote every now and then. I warned him that if it's up top, its in the pipe too...oh no, didn't listen. One night I was in their living room and the pipe began to rumble and shake. Went out side and it looked like the business end of a rocket.

if you are burning rightly, you should never..NEVER...have creosote buildup...!

I have creosote build up, can't get stuck cover unscrewed of top pipe. any ideas?
