@caljo08 I got them at Walmart, they have several sizes now but it used to be just that size, I think they have a 16 qt and even a 24 quart and a few other sizes. I LOVE those tubs!
my brand new baby pastel ball is such a mama's boy. I swear, As soon as I put him in his tank, he flutters around endlessly. As soon as I hold him, he gets comfy and wraps around my hand and chills. he even has a heat rock in his tank, at 90 degrees in that area (which my snake friend says is perfect.) I don't get it.
dont handle it till it eats, be sure it has a hide box, try feeding him a live hopper mouse if he wont take prekilled or frozen thawed and warmed........dont leave the mouse in with him for than an hour and b sure you keep a close eye on him.
LOL that is so cute! I never thought of Sunny and Rainey! Though I did used to work with a guy named Sunshine and his sister was named Moonstar! haha!
This is a bit off-topic, but have you ever had to deal with a respiratory infection before? I just got my first ball python about a week ago and he's making a lot of clicking noises when he breathes. Do RIs usually recur even if they're treated? I'm upset about this, because he must have been sick when I got him, and the breeder is from another state, so I can't return him. I called the vet and was told that treatments would be at least $100 dollars. Funds are tight now, so I'm really bummed :(
Yes that sounds like a respiratory infection, RI's will only recur if humidity is too high again, humidity should be kept fairly low in their enclosure.
I advise you take to vet asap so they can get it sorted out, if your ball starts blowing bubbles from its nostrils its even more urgent.
If you suspect a RI get a friend to help U hold the snake gently but firmly in place & use a qtip to look in its mouth and check for any slime, goo, or excess saliva. Also see if your BP sits with its head rasied a bit & if it cracks its mouth open to breathe from time to time. If if you notice any of this behavior, get him to a vet ASAP, no matter what you read online, it will not go away on its own. If you let the infection get bad it may die and treatment will be more difficult!
5*s How totally precious they are. I don't remember mine being that small LOL Gorgeous yellow looks a lot like Rogue that I got my friend Nikki from BHB reptiles.
That was really cool of you to help out a friend but I know you're loving having those little ones around. :O)
where do you get those tubs from with the locking lids like that?

How high do you keep the humidity for your Ball pythons?
I have been keeping mine from 50-70% but I'm not sure if that's right.
