I concur with AlienZygote010. As for making tzitzis, you should only use 4 white strings, or use a blue "techelet" shamash string with 3 white, or (and this is uncommon) use two shamash strings, one white and one blue with 2 white strings. You should NOT use any color strings, and you need 4 strings per side; no more no less. Also, for the tzitzis to be kosher, you need to use kosher strings and say the blessing "L'shame, mitzvah tzitzit" (the mitzvah of tzitzis) every time you make a knot.
Your tutorial is enriching! However, if you please...Where can one buy the "blue" strings or "techelet" and the strings itself to make the tzitzis? I would appreciate any lead/and or links you may provide.
The blue string was to remind people of YHWH. No one knew who Yahshua was when this was invented. He had not been born yet. So to change things, or to attach significance without explaining it in depth, gives those who seek to defame Messianics tons of fodder. How you should have explained is how it is in the Tanakh, then introduce how you feel Yahshua comes into it. As a believing Jew, I winced when I heard you say what you did. It would make a curious traditional Jew have a heart attack.
@AlienZygote010 Thank you for the correction friend. Many apolagies for the lack skill in explaining the Scriptures. Any correction helps me do better next time. I'm still learning, and enjoy doing so as well. Shalom to you friend in Yahshua's Name.
