I love the fact that we are seeing ALL the Idiots who are running for President 2 years in advance! To me, It shows how stupid they really are. As for Rudy...Hes done. No way in hell he will be elected, just like Hillary, shes also done.
Wow, all of my comments were removed. GREAT JOB VERACIFIER!!! I posted the survival rates for Prostate and Breast cancer in America. WHICH RUDY CORRECTLY QUOTED~ And they get removed. AWESOME.
He's using a "straw man" argument. He's attempting to say that the foreign health care systems of France, England, Canada, & Cuba would be EXACTLY like ours. That's simply not true. This all comes down to drug companies, & insurance company's profit margins. Any form of socialized medicine would cut their revenues in half. Comes down to money baby.
Now I know your stance. I do not, & it's not for lack of money, or trying. In my industry, insurance coverage is not offered. You have to go get it, & without a large enough "group", the rates are far too high. There are MANY who are in my boat from all career paths & walks of life. Perhaps you'd like to tell me what options I have.
Wait, you said it is NOT out of lack of money, then turn around and say your interest rates are "far too high"? Huh? Excuse me, I make less than 20k a year, yet I can afford mine. My mom NEVER made more than 20k until I was 18, yet she was able to pay for herself and me. In your industry? Huh? As in that specific company?
I pay three times what someone in company group program would pay. Is that fair? What about others who lack the funds? Look at my channel if you want to know what I do.
You could purchase privately, go through a job, pay for it out of pocket, save money in a bank. You do not HAVE to get it. My roomate doesn't have it bc he works for a doctor. I would also propose HSA's.
You could also purchase cheaper HC which covers large expenses and not smaller ones. If we had HSA's, you could save 12.50 a week (tax free) which in a year is 650 which would cover almost all small expenses.
Yes privately(three times the amount which others pay), I HAVE a job, paying "out of pocket" would now be FIVE times as much(A tooth brush in the ER is $25). I don't HAVE to get it? WTF. Really? What's an HSA?
Health Savings Account. It's essentially a bank account that is tax free, in which you deposit money that can be used for any kind of medical expense. The account rolls over so when you deposit, it'll be there until you use it. Let's say you deposit 12.50 a week, at the end of every year you have $650. You can deposit more or less obviously. Primarily it would cover all small expenses, and enabling you to purchase a cheaper ins. plan.
Cheaper insurance plans, ones that cover larger expenses (ER visits, surgery, cancer treatments, certain prescription drugs etc) but do not cover things like doctor visits, eye exams, glasses etc.
Again, I don't know what you make, but $650 is a small number annually ($50/mo) and in conjunction w/cheaper ins. would cut cost and promote competition.
(Last post) also I don't mean to regard this as a silver bullet. I like my insurance (Humana woot), some get it through work, and the more offered choices the better, as we all have different needs based on our living situations. Also, remember there ARE government programs already (Medicare, Medicaid, Schip, others) for people who cannot afford insurance.
AGAIN, that's through your work, which affords you lower rates, based on total number in the group. MANY Americans are I-9 independent contractors(Guess what comic would fall under) who don't have access to those rates. The system is broken, & people like me are proof of that. Also, Medicare/Medicaid are for people 65 and older. S-Chip is for Children. It's clear you don't understand much about the current landscape of health care since you're already covered.
No, mine DOES NOT come from my work, I purchase PRIVATELY. My stepfather is a Gen. Contractor who works alone. He pays for his own insurance under the 1-9. You are convinced it's broken, so I suppose whatever I tell you, your response will be "it's a wash, it's broken". People who make less than 17,000/yr ALSO qualify for medicare/medicaid. Quality goes DOWN under socialized med., that is a fact. I shouldn't have to pay for my private, and everyone else's public ins.
The price for an insurance plan for myself(looking into groups since most comics don't have it) covering larger expenses (ER, surgery, cancer treatments, prescriptions, etc) is a lot. You're looking at around $305 a month for a BCBS PPO with a $250 deductible. For lesser coverage, but decent quality, you pay $124.81 per month for a BCBS PPO with a $1,750. The lower the monthly rate, the HIGHER the deductible making it a wash. The current system is broken.
...With what kind of deductible? You understand that if you have a higher deductible, you'll pay less overall? If you paid the $1,750, you would spend less per year, than the $250 deductible. How is it a wash? You would save almost $1,000 annually (under the current system).
A deductible is something you'll pay EVERY time if you have a problem. You pay less per month, but get dinged when you use medical care. See how that works? I still cannot find any quote center with a $12 per month price that you listed before.
There is no quote center, an HSA goes through the treasury dept like an IRA. Again, if your insurance only covers the more major problems (cancer, ER visits, etc), then how often would your deductible need to be replaced? How many times in the last two years have you had a serious injury or medical problem or been to the ER?
Again, you can type hsa high-deductible health insurance, and get quotes. Many are less than 3000 annually (just have your calculator handy). Some are less than 2,500. Even with 650 yearly in your HSA (which would cover numerous doctor visits, glasses, eye exams, generic prescript drugs) the number is still around 3000.
That's great, thank you. Only small expenses scares me. What if I broke my leg, were seriously injured, or seriously sick. Now that becomes an "out of pocket" cost that would drain me. In other words, that an excellent health plan for people who never have any health issue of any kind. See?
....huh? What you mentioned are not small expenses. Breaking a leg can send you to an ER, same with serious injuries. Seriously sick? As in the Flu? Personally, if I had the flu I would rather pay immediately for immediate care, rather than getting on a waiting list.
Canada (comparatively) is the LEAST socialized med of all practicing countries. Their ratio of public/private dollars is 70/30 (ours is 45/55). Germany is 80/20, France and UK is almost 100% public. The more socialized, the more problems with quality, the longer the waiting lists, the more emphasis on gov to keep costs down. All of the aforementioned countries have had fiscal troubles in the last couple of years caused by the massive amount it takes to have ONE (gov) provider of all HC.
He failed to say why. He just named countries that have a good medical program. Well I can do that too stupid.
Why do republicans insist to acting like 5 year olds? Yeah its socialized medicine. Explain to me why it doesn't work. They can't because they know their current one doesn't work.
Giuliani says his chance of succeeding is better in America than anywhere else in the world. No shit. Nowhere else in the world would even be stupid enough to consider Giuliani.
Also if we went to a type of socialized medicine, as Rudy suggests, does that mean our doctors would knowingly do a worse job? What the hell is he trying to say.
His statistics are a complete fabrication. Socialized Medicine IS superior to our corporate health care system. Unless you are very wealthy, in that case, it is great. If you support our current system- you are either stupid or heartless and rich.
There is a feces on our species. It's name is Rudy Giuliani.
