  • Your right, there are good songs in there but it's not crazy, funky, catchy. I hope the chili peppers get there funk back. It's mostly Chad that's killin me with the toms, Nd the added precision, that is not a good sound for the peppers and it really is breaking up there sound as a band.

  • Actually something most of late 90's/early 00's pepper fans don't know is that John Frusciante was not a funk guitarist before joining RHCP. His funk style was created by studying mainly Hillel Slovak. Before joinnng the Peppers he was mainly into punk and calssic rock like Hendrix and Zappa. I think that's important to know before judging Josh for not being a funk guitarist.

  • Although this album was great the first listen, I can't find myself going back to listen to any of these songs (except for Even You, Brutus). They lack that....re-listenability I got from most songs on Stadium Arcadium. This doesn't mean I didn't like the album, though, as I think it's excellent! It's just that Frusciante had that thing. I don't know what it is, but he knows how to work with a track and use his guitar as his voice and can turn any average track into an amazing one.

  • You made some really good points! People who judge a whole band based on the absense of one musician clearly aren't true appreciaters of music for what it is! Personally I love all of their albums! I feel their music really speaks to me (and no not the lyrics, but the actual music itself). Needless to say, if you're a true RHCP fan, you'll give this album a chance and get off your high horse! you WILL find something in it that speaks to you too! I guarantee it!

  • I'n this album I'd never know theres a different guitarist. They are like brothers.

  • Hey, redlanternman,I tend to think that pill mean different - doesn't anti drug thing - it is kind of drug stuff. that way like offering to try their new album. But what does mean a fly?! everebody knows that a fly likes sitting on shit.

This last album isn't awesome how was californication.

  • Does anyone know what the symbolism is behind the logo on the RHCP new lp???I've heard it like an anti drug thing??Please shed some light on this for me and message me and let me know!!!

  • My favorite song is brendans death song, it's a celebration about someone's life by saying your goodbyes and it cheers you up.

How many songs you know about someones death that makes you smile?

  • you just earned a suscriber :)

  • Da fuck? Stadium arcadium is one of the best albums...ever.

  • @girlsandboysmakebaby Hell yeah Stadium arcaduim was a perfect album.

  • nerd stfu

  • I KINDA WOULD HAVE GAVE IT A HIGHER RATING BUT YEAH YOU MADE SOME INTERESTING POINTS IN THE REVIEW!! OVER ALL DECENT REVIEW!

  • possibly the most unbiased review i have ever heard yet you praise the chili peppers the whole time. best review i have heard about any topic. not just because im a big chili peppers fan and i learned how to play all the instruments that i do from listening to them, but because it satisfied me that everything was so unbiased and well explained and how it went over so many aspects of rhcp. awesome job man. will DEFINITELY be looking at more of your reviews.

  • im just curious whats behind the Im WIth You logo.. you must have hidden somthing behind it O_0

  • Stadium Arcadium Album is the best RHCP album of 2000's... For me!

  • Piece of shit. Where is the music? Your opinion sucks, keep it to yourself.

  • @Ziedune Wait, what are you calling a piece of shit? Him or the album?

  • I'd give it an 9. I pretty much love this album.

  • @RHCPFreaklolNEW a*.....

  • You are a brilliant review, you obviously have a passion in music.

How about review sound awake by Karnivool

  • 6 is a GREAT number for this album completely agree that its good music but not quite at that great level.

  • they need to bring Frusciante back

  • So, what other bands do you review?

  • SHUT YOU MOUTH STUPID GUY

  • I was enjoying the review 'til you called Anthony a beach bum -.-

  • It's a chick album

  • i happen to love this album but i did not try and disect it as you have also i would give it an 8 instead of a 6

  • Hey, nice review! I agree with the most of what you said, even if i think that also 'By The Way' and "Stadium Arcadium" had a lot to give to the fans for the moment they were released and the original-catchy-style that characterize the band and that never leaves. Anyway I love Klinghoffer, for your same reason and most of all for his voice. Well, probably you didn't care anything, but i liked to share my opinion with you :D bye, from Italy (subscribed to your page!!)

  • ur hair is retarded, can all americans stop looking like dogs and justing beiber? it's fucking stupid

  • @andreesvensson Your stereotypes are retarded, can all Swedish people stop pretending that one person represents an entire country? It's just ignorant. (inb4imahypocrite)

  • @maalbe987 wtf are you talking about?

  • @andreesvensson You see, I took the template of your ignorant comment against all Americans and pointed it back at you.

  • @maalbe987 ok, i don't fucking care what You did, go suck a dick fag

  • 73 SIXTY DEUCE PROMOTIONS

  • Excellent review, but for God's sake, please stop over-editing videos. Literally every 5 seconds it cuts, and it's extremely annoying.

  • Frusciante is the Best Guitarist I Have Ever Seen in My Entire Life.

I Own All of His Albums and I Just Have So Much Love and Respect for him.

Kurt Cobain is The Second Best Guitarist In This Entire World. R.I.P.

But Mr. Music Review Guy, You Should Totally Do A Review of NIRVANA's NEVERMIND Album,...If You Haven't Already Im Just Finding Your Channel. lol

But If so Im Sure Your View's Would Rocket!! Plus This Album Is Fantastic I Would Have Personally Given it A 20 out of 10 Lmfao.

  • I'm not going to argue with what you think about frusciante but come on dude, Kurt Cobain isn't that good AT GUITAR, there are SOOOOOO many more people better.

  • @Chrisban93 You Made Me Smile, But Anyway. lol I Grew Up Listening to NIRVANA and RHCP So If I Had To Choose The Best Guitarist's In The World Of course it would be Frusciante and Cobain. Cuz Like I Said There My Faves and In My Opinion Are Better Than The Rest. :)

  • Under the bridge guitar player

  • i just listened to the album their new guitarist is amazing! hes so good, especially jamming out with flea. But i wouldnt say this is their best of the 2000s, by the way was by far the best

  • @Grungedude93 Hell yeah! By the way is my favorite album from RHCP and i'm liking that this Cd feels more like that album as opposed to some of their others.

  • Fair review. Good description. As a lifelong chili fan, I am a little stung by the 6. Couldn't have pulled a 7? Anyway, Keep it up man. I'll have to see your other stuff after this one.

  • I bet when Blood Sugar Sex Magik came out people whined about how they didn't sound like Freaky Styler or Uplift. And you know people whined that they sold out when they made Californication. My point is no matter what they do people will always complain that they don't sound like they used to because they don't understand that music changes over the course of 20 years and that if they remade Blood Sugar every album they would either break up and do other things or put out very uninspired music.

  • where is the funk ? This is a soul album...come on guys...get with the program you aren't that old yet, lemmy is still bashing out heavy riffs so can you.

  • holy shit this has more views than needledrop's review

  • Slap bass

  • Coming from probably one of the greatest chili peppers fans you will ever know, you have to know not a single one of their albums sound at all like any other they're all different so if you don't like it don't listen to it but by my opinion this is a really great album new band entirely and really is a rebirth klinghoffer's an excellent guitarist and made the best possible fit and get over it johns not coming back I honestly don't think he ever will so just get used to the new chili peppers

  • i belive that there is additional percussion on this album so chad has had some help getting that great drum sound on this album

  • So if this is the best album of the 2000's and you gave this a 6, are you saying that By The Way and Stadium Arcadium sucked?

  • It's not their best millenium album, but the new album is good. And the chili's haven't been super funky since mother's milk or freaky styely.

  • first of all great review! I want to see what everyone thinks: I get the feeling that they were quite smooth in this album in terms of going all out. But i feel that they are almost waiting for the next album to blow our minds. this one is great, but it's just missing that next level that they usually reach with every one of their albums! Maybe with josh they wanted to introduce the new sound, see what people think, and then bend us over and violate our ear-pussies in the next album....?

  • "By the way" was their best release of the 2000's!!

  • why is everyone talking about BSSM, SA and BTW? have you guys heard any of their old stuff like Freaky Styley or The Uplift Mofo Party Plan or Mothers Milk oh and One Hot Minute. Thats the Chilis at their best. To understand the chili peppers and to understand how talented they really are you have to hear those albums. Dont get me wrong i love the chili peppers and i love SA and BSSM but nothing compares to their early days. (And i realise that BSSM is before OHM but BSSM is more popular)

  • I agree with that it is a great album but no where near being the best album. Stadium arcadium is the greatest album of the peppers. And srry to say but frusciante is untouchable and unreplaceable. And if you dont believe listen to stdm arcdm californication blood sugar sex magic and by the way and you'll see frusciante is just irreplaceable and brilliant. But klingoffer must be respected. Frusciante=respect

  • FUCK YOU! NO JOHN FRUSCIANTE = NO SOUL.

  • @Nagoshiftw shut up asshole

  • @johnnyrabon

Dumb ass. Nothing will compare to Blood Sex Sugar Magik. I'm With You is great, but nothing is as good as Blood Sex Sugar Magik.

  • have you heard stadium arcadium? you didnt mention it, and i feel like that's their best album by far. this album is probably as good as blood sugar. calcification and by the way being better. i agree with 6 though.

  • Comment removed

  • amazing album but to me i still think that stadium is better josh klinghoffer is an amazing amazing amazing guitarist to many people are comparing him to frusciante i think there both amazing guitarists i think klinghoffer will do great with the peppers bringing new stuff to the band

  • @hi8913 i am assuming you consider rhcp and justin beiber to be the only two options availible...how condescending to tell someone to "leave this world" because they disagree with your purile opinion. Grow up little boy....

  • I think this album is so incredible... I'll admit that I'm a diehard RHCP fan, but honestly I think songs like, Even You, Brutus?, Ethiopia, and Brendan's Death Song are among the best they've ever written. opinion.

  • YES! TOTALLY AGREE people are comparing it too much with John-era RHCP...they need to know that this is a totally new band. And they should formulate their opinions based on that.

  • shiiiiiiit so many views swaaaaaaaaaag

  • Im with willzie82

  • I was kind of disappointed with this album. They've matured and are reflecting on their sound, but that maturity makes them sound so limited and boring. It gives a sense of tamed and underwhelming power, and that really detracts from the enjoyment of the CD, especially when that certain CD raises the bar of expectation by being hyped as an experimental album from a funky band. It seems to just go through the motions, if I were to compare it to anything, it'd be a watered down Faith No More.

  • this dudes a wanker

  • this album is their worst release of the 2000's...easily

  • youre a good reviewer

  • @lauralikes THANK YOU :D

  • @Threecreation I have to add this this compliment. Awesome reviewer. Very fair, articulate and you knew about the band's context and where they're at. I will definitely be following more of your reviews.

  • @icedbannanas Wow Im honored! (: Thanks so much

  • @Threecreation my mole is on the exact same spot on my face as yours! lol

  • i love rhcp<3

  • i don't think they will ever top Stadium Arcadium But this is still a great album! more rhcp the better and also I love brendon's death song I think vocally it's anthony's best song yet

  • 1:30 , im 1 of them , i dont want the same songs , but they were more funk rock , little harder, not gay shit soft , if i wanna listen to soft pop , there are many bands for that .. it is my opinion , if u dont like it , u can suck it

  • Oh bloody heck, congrats on the views.

  • meet at the corner is super smooth

  • Im gonna give the album a good month before commenting in too much detail. I think it needs more than a couple of days, how can you really give it a true rating or review in such a short time.

  • Its ok, growing on me. I think that the next album if they keep the same line up will be better. Personally Frusciante was definately more instrumental in some songs clearly but atleast its quite fresh.

Have to disagree with the whole thing about them not doing well with other guitarists. Dave Navaro did awesome on One Hot minute, some awesome songs there.

  • @8GRUM8 I guess there was some communication issues with that statement in the review! D: Sorry I meant to say the Peppers have gone through many guitar changes and have benefited greatly from them in one way or another.

  • @Threecreation Oh ok. Maybe I just wasn't listening properly ;). Another thing bit of a stretch to say this is the best of the 2000's but your aloud your opinion. Again I need a good month to not have bias to Stadium Arcadium and by the way because I know those albums so well.

  • awesome review!

  • omgg austinz famusss

  • very solid review. much respect

  • i love austin xoxo

  • 22THOUSANDVIEWSINTWODAYS

  • @WeEatBrainz I KNOW RIGHT!? THIS IS FUCKING AWESOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMME

  • @Threecreation SPACEBARSAREFORPUSSIESREALMENGOALLCAPSNOSPACESWHENTHEYAREHAPPY

  • they call this album im with you but there isn't any song called im with you or even any lyrics that have the words im with you even in it. ok album but what's with the name in with you?

  • havent given it much listening time but i personally dont like it too much, some of the songs got a real sort of artsy hipster sound which i dont like at all, they should stay away from indie rock or whatever you call it, that opinions subject to change though

  • I didn't like it the first listen thru all that much, but it definitely grows on you. In particular, Police Station and Did I Let You Know have been getting a lot of play

  • Woo!

  • When this is what people do for a living you know the earth is in the shitter.

  • @89mega89able oh come on xD There's more trying things wrong with the world than some guy making reviews on youtube. And besides, while I do get a healthy deal of enjoyment out of this, it most certainly doesn't pay for the bills x_x as much as I wish it could

  • i love 'goodbye hooray', 'did i let you know' and 'even you brutus?' i think this album is fantastic...i lovethe music but i hate the artwork :s xxx

  • I agree you can be a fan and a critic.

And I was really wondering about this album..

And i'm for sure gonna check it out now!

    :)

  • @ElyseGORE I hope you find as much enjoyment in it as possible!

  • Man your voice sound like Jack Black, Good Review!

  • @megapoyep Wouldnt be the first time Ive heard that haha. Thank you for the kind words on the review though!

  • This is a great album, maybe not the best of all of theirs, but you have to compare it to the garbage out there today as far as general rock goes. The chili peppers always have and always will stand out in their uniqueness and ridiculous talent.. If Anthony dropped off the face of the earth, think about it, we would still have one hell of a jazz-funk fusion trio.. I liked your analysis overall, but it deserves a better rating.. This is the best shit out there relative to everything else today.

  • @LegaiaScavo True enough about the last statement. Im just glad you enjoy it (:

  • This guy reminds me of Jack Black

  • Its very interesting that now flea is getting in those kinda "bassriffs" - seems to me like HE would replace John, not Josh o_O

  • dude, how cand you say that this album is their best work of the last 10 years and then you rate it as a 6? that makes stadium arcadium a 5? that's just nasty

  • Comment removed

  • @Qoooba95 Couldn't agree with you more. I like the album too but the solos and instrumental sections seem to shy away from any awesome guitar jams!

  • Comment removed

  • This album sucks.

    Funk? SUCKS! It's not funk...

Josh's guitar sounds like BIG SHIT! No solos, no passion, no imagination!

    SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS!

That's all from music expert Kanapis.

  • @TheKanapis Well analyzed, I love how you looked at every song and told us what was wrong with it.

  • @TheKanapis Cool story bro

  • @newlifenm you'd actually be surprised. While I kinda thought like you a while back assuming no good could come out of the music industry, there's a ton of great stuff out there just WAITING to be discovered. And that's all I'm here for: to expose bands to people and rate them accordingly (:

  • Thanks so much for the comment/compliment on the review! Brendans Death Song is certainly on of the ballad-ish highlights!

  • @David26959 I'd love to hear your opinions on the album though (: good or bad

  • I'd give the album a 7/10. Its nowhere near their best but there are few tracks which I think are really good. My fav is Brendan's Death Song!! Love it!

Keep up the good work man! Great review!!! :D

  • I bought and listened to it in its entirety and can say that as a RHCP fan, I'm pleased. I like a lot of the songs, and it will take a while to get used to, but they're all good. One thing that I didnt like as much was the lack of Johnny Frusciante. Klinghoffer is great, and he did great on this album. It's just that the riffs lose complexity. All in all though, a solid album.

  • The early sound of the chili peppers have driven my musician ship ever since i picked up the bass. And i have to say, i do miss their old sound. I have come to accept, now more than ever due to their new guitarist, that the sound they once had will only be sprinkled on their music. The chili peppers to me, were rooted deep into funk, punk, and a humor about themselves that never got old. But they've grown up, and they're a different beast. Kudos to the Chili peppers.

  • @FleaMaster69 dude, seriously just watch an interview of the Chilis in the Stadium Arcadium era. You can see how Flea and Anthony have become "old men", talking really really serious bout their music and then there's John and Chad and they're just like "yeah, whatever. But I was like how bout putting more pow than umpf innit and it worked!" ;D they lost it, entirely. And with John leaving, this band is gonna die. Fast. Josh is good, but he never stays in a band, he constantly moves

  • @DarkAngelEU The best way in responding to your comment is, you're right, and you're wrong :]

Old men, sure, they're getting old. But as one gets older, one tries to give back. Flea and Anthony have been at this about 30 years, cultivating, and pouring themselves into this band. Though, i can't say that i'm enjoying they're music like i did back during bssm, regardless, they're trying to transform into what they think they should be. Try and do something for 30 years, and see if you change.

  • @FleaMaster69 I admire they've been a band for 30 years, without starting to suck so hard like U2 or Metallica. The album is still good, but not GREAT like bssm Cali or SA. I just hope Josh can get a little more original (alot of his guitar work sounds like John, prob cause of their collabs etc) and give them back that spark of youth because chili's trying to get philosophical is just... weird :p

  • 2:00 speaky alot.

    2:40 lol rhythm guitarist

    3:30 time keepy thing

You sir, come off as a douche. but i could not know such a thing by one video, so i'll watch more of your stuff :] Because if anything, you're punctual. but i have to agree with cmarshall099.

  • Who cares! The easiest thing to be in life is a critic. Please quit posting you opinions. So I dont have to post mine.

  • Saying stupid random shit like 'stuffs' and 'props' only makes you look like a total chode. PLEASE grow up.

  • you fucktard. Try being thirty years old and have this new shity music come from the bands you loved so much back in the day. Today's music is a shame!

  • 0:00 ANYONE NOTICE THE GOBLIN FROM TYLERS VIDEO

  • only good songs were, Monarchy of Roses, Factory of Faith, Raindance Maggie, and Goodbye Hooray. they need more funk.

  • im getting this album this weekend.

  • Are you going to review the new Switchfoot?

  • i listened to this album at 4 in the morning with one hour sleep in 30 hours.... that might be why im giving this a strong 8

  • This guy is really annoying

  • @hjavier40 STFU

  • @hjavier40 You are annoying.

  • I definitely agree with you that this album is about "moments". I don't think there's a single song I really like in it's entirety, but so many parts of them are so cool - like the verses in Even You, Brutus, or the intro to Monarchy of Roses, or the instrumental breakdown in Ethiopia... if only they had the control and guts to pull of a full track like that. I think the album is wasted on "safe" choruses :(

  • Red hot Chili Peppers my favorite band and I'm With you is a great addition to the chilis collection. Could u review the games new album if ur down to review a rap album

  • i request WEEN!!!!!

  • Red hot chili peppers have been my favourite band ever since I first hear them from the early 90's now as a fan you have a lot to expect, now when stadium arcadium came out i was quite disapointed with the 2 cds and only likeing 2 or 3 of the songs on it. When I hear this album was coming out in 2010 I was skeptic on whether to be happy or not. But I have listened to the whole through a few times now and i have say it is AMAZING! this will the soundtrack to the rest of my 2011. A solid 4.5/5

  • hey i didnt like the album very much ... dont know why :(

    2.5/5 :(

hey i liked very much you review ! :)

  • happiness love company is my favorite.

  • you should review the new UKF album

  • @TheFallenDidntTry Well I do prefer the latter artists you listed, even though I know that you just copy/pasted that from youtube somewhere. yay rock & roll thpirit!

  • I agree with a lot of your points, I love this album and have been following the Chilies for a while now. I think the only thing for me is that I miss that raw and fun funk feel I was getting from Blood Sugar Sex Magik. I'm sure I'll still be buying this one. Thanks for the review.

  • @Mastersturm No problemo! I hope you enjoy it (:

  • Hey Austin- Great review. I've only heard the lead single so far and thus can't make my own judgment on the record. I guess my only curiosity is that you proclaimed this their "best album of the 2000s" yet you only gave it a "6". I find this difficult to understand, as "By the Way" is generally acknowledged (myself included) as a pop masterpiece. What was your personal opinion of "By the Way"?

  • just listened to the songs on youtube its sounds a good album not great yes i am impressed with there new guitarist but this is not there best album of the naughties in years to come STadium Arcardia will rank as there masterpiecie just like the stones Exile In Main Street or Dylans Blond on Blonde yes i will purchase a copy of I,m With You hope we will not have to wait another 5 years for the next release

  • I want it :D

  • you can go to hell. your a critic not a fan... theres a difference

  • @cmarshall099 wat

  • @cmarshall099 He said in his Rain Dance Maggie track review that he's a longtime fan. It is possible to be both a critic and a fan.

  • @cmarshall099 Yea and like people have been telling you in the comments, a person can be both! :D

  • @cmarshall099 You can go to hell. You're a commenter not a fan. There's a difference.

  • I think this album is awesome, factory of faith is suuuper sexy and stands out to me as the best track, though im all bout the funky peppers

  • I agree with "6". It is a solid album; nothing negative to say about it

  • you know what man, my initial reaction is completely in line with your review, but some of the songs definitely resonated with me in a way I look forward to revisiting and I think it may grow on me... we'll see!

  • spot on review

  • @53dz thank you (:

  • i really enjoy your review alot, i think you make alot of valid points, my feeling about this album is that it takes some getting use to, some of the songs jump at you and you feel them instantly, but i really feel that some of the songs need more time, it was only at the 4. or 5. time i listened to the album i started to really feel and fully appreciate many of the songs... i would give the album 8 or 9 out of 10... but thanks for the review :)

  • Here's my review. Yea for art i give it a 5, for enjoyment a 9. enough said lolz.

  • Austin it would be really neat if you reviewed Hella - Tripper!

  • @MrZombiejfk I plan on it (:

  • Great album deserves like a 8 or a 9 ish. Probably cuz I'm a chili fan but it's a beast album to me.

  • I agree with you. I think if Frusciante had stayed with the band, the RHCP sound would've changed and probably alienated some mainstream fans. I love JF, but he is so far into experimental music (even borders on techno at times), it might have been even further away from their roots than "I'm With You".

  • @MsDarcyfan off topic, but I love your Pride and Prejudice icon/name! GO LITERATURE!

  • @Threecreation Ha! Funny you noticed that. I saw an interview on here the other day where Flea was talking about reading Jane Eyre and how much he identified with it.

  • I like what you said about Klinghoffer being more of a rhythm guitarist than a Frusciante-esque funkadelic demigod. I enjoy I'm with You enough; I agree with you about Anthony's confidence and Flea's awesomeness. I think I dislike Even You Brutus? because it feels too similar to their 80's sound, which I don't always enjoy. However, I do like Goodbye Hooray, Factory of Faith, Monarchy of Roses and a few others. Thanks, Austin!

  • @DandHgoogoo Glad to see some agreement here! And yes, thank you!
