Also when they say to put the negative "ground" to the frame, they mean any metal surface that the car is grounded to, only do this to the car with the dead battery, the lip where the fender is bolted to the frame will do nicely, also remember, negative first then positive to avoid arcing, "sparks"

Thats a good way to blow a battery or kill the cars computer, this is coming from a professional mechanic, if you do not know what you are doing get help from a professional

IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING DON'T JUMP START, my next door neighbor burnt his car out by getting the polarity wrong. also I noticed someone say don't worry its all off anyway, but what you obliviously don't realize is the battery its 'hot' even when the car is completely off.
