  • I hate to be one of those assholes who writes in desperation to have people hear his music... But I genuinely think you'll enjoy it. I'm a premed student at the University of Miami, and my goal isn't to blow up off youtube. I just want people share the love, jam to it and say "yo that's some good tunage." So if you like the acoustic feel then check my page.

  • @TRAVISMA70 bro i was just thinking the same thing...

  • I just burnt one down. Haha

  • hippies at a festival? do you really think they are truly representative of the environmental movement and what they stand for? how small your mind is.

are you really comparing trash after a concert to the industrial complex's pollution of our air, water, and food. your ignorance is astounding. but only because of it's level, not it's source.

  • @Timmy3364 This is ridiculous. I don't care if I get rich or not. Freedom is what matters to me. Why do you trust the government more than a big business? You can change which business you use much easier than which government you use. We have such a basic disagreement on how life is playing out right now...but both of us agree that is sucks...I say freedom, you say security...who wins?

  • @shatfick i say freedom. Well put man

  • We don't have endless resources on Earth, you are correct. We also don't have endless time on Earth. This planet will be destroyed sooner or later. If we don't move off of this rock at some point we will be going down anyway. We are humans. We will adapt and learn to survive or we will perish. It doesn't really matter. What else is there to do?

  • well, they're keeping theirs. and if they aren't giving theirs up, where did you think yours was going to come from? endless growth? not without endless resources, which we don't have.

  • I weep for this country too. Because people like you think that there is a free market, and that it works. there is no free flow of information. there are companies large enough to control the market and direct it. and to fix either of those situations, we would need rules. a free market is a practical impossibility. just a lie told by the ruling class to make you think that you have the same chance they do to have what they have.

  • Capitalism is slavery. Slavery to the ruling class. You have been blinded by greed, and the unfounded belief that one day, you will rise to be one of them, and when you do, you don't want these rules dragging you down and sapping all of your wonderful money. But you will never get there. You stay in the class you are born into in a class based society. Very few make it out. That's why they end up big news stories. If it happened all the time, it wouldn't be news.

  • and i'm glad the world has you in it. now i have something to compare my intellect to, in order to realize that i am intelligent and reasonable. other wise, how could i be sure? simple ideas from simple people, that don't stand up to even the most cursory examination.

doesn't really matter though. the only way Ron or Rand are getting anywhere near the White House, is on the tour. probably wouldn't let you in though.

  • @Timmy3364 I weep for this country...it is rotting from the inside out. You cannot see the distinction between freedom and slavery and for that I feel sorry for you. I really hope that whole "now I know I'm intelligent" defense mechanism works really well for you. I obviously cannot get you to see the light through a youtube conversation. If you would like to continue debating I'll be around, but I have to go do something else right now, you are making my soul hurt.

  • we ARE born free & equal. and we were smart enough to draft a constitution and other laws to make sure those things are protected. allowing discrimination, is a blow to freedom, not a protection of it.

that's like allowing people to imprison others, because we don't want to step on their freedom by stopping them. you have to consider the other person. anti-discrimination laws ensure everyone has equal rights. not just the people with property, or money.

  • @Timmy3364 You don't make ANY SENSE. FUUUUUCK. Discrimination is MY RIGHT. I have a right to be a BIGOT. I DON'T have the right to steal your stuff or kill you. I DO HAVE THE RIGHT NOT TO LET YOU INTO MY HOUSE. FUUUUUUCK. My business is my house, they are the SAME THING. They are my personal property. I can let whoever the fuck I want into it. You don't have a RIGHT to come into my place of business. I ALLOW it to happen...how is this difficult to understand?

  • @Timmy3364 You have a right to life, property, liberty. You DO NOT have a right to come into my house. I have to allow you to enter or you are breaking the law and I can kill you. How does this not transfer to my business. It is essentially the SAME THING.

  • Heroin is dangerous. It is also a refined man made product unlike Marijuana. which is subject to breeding experiments, but is still grown naturally. in my view a plant can't be made illegal, and if i want to smoke it i should be allowed.

other controlled substances would cause an unnecessary burden on our health care system and should be controlled. they should be decriminalized however, to end the ridiculous war on drugs.

  • @Timmy3364 Ahakffkdsf If the government wasn't paying for our health care it wouldn't matter!!! sdkdhfkdhfkdasfkdf I can't handle this you just can't see the light...

  • Oh no it's dangerous, people might hurt themselves, now I need to make a bunch of laws to protect them because I know what's best! Man I am so glad that the world has you in it to make everything better! THANKS SO MUCH SO SO SOSOS OSOSOSO SMCUCHDAH FDLSK

  • discrimination interferes with the people you are discriminating against, exercising their rights. you do not have the right, to take others rights away. you can feel that way if you want to, but you can't force your beliefs on others. which is exactly what discrimination does.

when property rights come in to conflict with civil and human rights, human rights and civil rights win. people before property. sorry that had to be explained to you.

  • @Timmy3364 Ahadfkfhjhfdas;kfdhsf;kdsf;kd;kfask I can't handle this. My business is like my house. I have the right to tell you not to come into my house. I can KILL you if you do. My personal business is no different. That is MINE. I have the right to tell anybody I want to get the fuck out for any reason whatsoever. This is so crazy, you cant comprehend it, there is nothing else I can do...

  • He's wrong about taxes, though. Tax the rich. They take more out, they can put more back in. They didn't get that money without my hard work. They can help me out by building some of the roads their goods travel over.

  • @Timmy3364 Tax EVERYONE an equal %. I don't know why this is even a discussion...

  • less spending by government in a recession is a bad idea. another in a long line from the doctor of dumb, and his special olympics winner of a son. smarter spending on sustainable jobs are what we need from them.

Ron's right about one thing. Hey, law of averages. It was bound to happen sooner or later. End the wars.

  • @Timmy3364 I just don't even know how you can type the words you just typed. The government creating jobs does NOTHING for the economy. This has been proven countless times throughout history. FDR showed us this is the Great Depression. He wasted money on bullshit jobs that did nothing but keep people's morale up for a short period. FDR loved power and he loved making people think what he was doing was actually helping, when in reality it sank us further and further in.

  • I've seen Ron Paul's America. It's China.

  • Once we have no representation anymore, who do you think will be in charge?

Not you. Not me. And we will have torpedoed the only organization that could have represented our side.

Getting rid of government is not the answer. Getting it back from them is. Make it small enough to drown in a bathtub, and they'll drown it. Then where will you turn? Not to your new corporate masters, that's for sure.

Rugged individualism, is just a nicer way of saying everyone for themselves. Not interested. X

  • @Timmy3364 It's not a nicer way of saying everyone for themselves, It is saying just that. People understand that cooperation will help us in the end though. However, I will cooperate with the people of my choosing. There are too many evil, pieces of shit people in the world. I am not going to waste my time cooperating with them...

  • He wants to legalize Heroin too. He would have voted against the civil rights act because telling people they can't discriminate is too much government for him! Ha!

People who think government is useless, end up with a useless government.

The rich took over our only avenue of redress. And now they are convincing people that we don't need it, and moreover, it's in our way.

  • @Timmy3364 Why shouldn't heroin be legal? Why shouldn't I have a right to discriminate in America? This is a FREE country. If I don't want someone to work for MY business I shouldn't have to hire them, regardless of the reason. If someone doesn't want me working for them because I'm tall or white or they don't like my shirt, that is THEIR right. We are ALL born free and equal, but the way we live our lives should decide if we are treated as such.

  • @Timmy3364 How could I possibly harm YOU or anyone else but myself by shooting up heroin? I live in a supposedly FREE country. How is this possible that I cannot inject a drug into my veins? How is this not taking away freedoms for me? Why do people feel like they have a right to stop me from using my freedom? This is so crazy, I can't even wrap my head around it. Do you feel like you are protecting people? Does it make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside?

  • Right. The disciples of the sociopath Ayn Rand. Who would have us go back to the gold standard, switching the illusion from paper to shiny rocks. Yep. That would fix the economy. We'd need to get enough to cover the money currently in circulation. Not too mention that we would have to pay for it with the same money he calls worthless because it's not backed with gold. Doh!

  • @Timmy3364 I'm not saying going back to the gold standard will solve our economy. The ONLY thing that will solve our economic issues is less spending by the government and more innovation by entrepreneurs. That's it.

  • Ron Paul, and his son, are both idiots. They must both be smoking something to come up with their, let's call them, ideas.

  • @Timmy3364 That is why this country is failing. Ron and Rand Paul say it how it is and people just can't handle reality...

  • you can always download acurate rips of audio cds if the best quility is your problem ben :p

  • does anyone know where i can find just the song on here?

  • Love that you just see the smoke oozing up from the audience

  • this is my official smoking theme song.

"if i'm causing no harm, it shouldn't bother you"

    -best part of the song

  • "Come on baby light my fire"

"and if you dont like my fire then don't come around"

Thumbs up for legalizing marijuana worldwide

  • thumbs up if u want to burn one down and play guitar round a camp fire with this guy

    hes fucking brilliant

  • 27 people think this is a curse.

  • the closest things to hippies we have today. :) who wants to start a revolution with me?

  • @ChromaticaShags

I'm with you my fellow :D

  • @ChromaticaShags I will always be up for that my friend, things just need to change

  • @ChromaticaShags Hippies pretend to love the earth, but they trash it more than most people I've met. You even been to one of these festivals? Thousands of people singing, dancing, partying, maybe 5 people cleaning up, everybody leaving their campsites trashed. Nowadays, the whole "hippie" movement is a bunch of punks running away from life.

  • @shatfick hey man i hear you. im defiantly not saying the hippies were perfect. and hippies were for man than just saving the earth. but your right, alot of them (not all them) are hypocritical about polluting the earth. But they had the right idea about life. Im not saying that everyone should be into what the hippies are into but people should have the right to live how ever the hell they want to without others telling them how to as long as their not hurting others.that is what theywere about

  • @ChromaticaShags Listen man, I am not telling anybody how to live. I could care less. I agree with the "hippie" thought process of peace and love and everything. The thing is, almost EVERYBODY wants that. I hung out with a lot of these kinds of people and most of them are posers and followers, but they can do whatever they want as long as they causing no harm you know? Just keep your eyes open, that's all I'm saying.

  • @shatfick amen brother

  • @shatfick were for more than*****

  • lets do it!

  • @ChromaticaShags count me in : )

  • @ChromaticaShags love this song but todays hippies like the Occupy kids are not hippies at all they are entitled rich kids of middle class ex hippies of the 70s who were closr to the real thing than todays fake hippies will ever be

  • @Aegelana I agree. I would also say that even the "hippies" back in the 60s and 70s were mostly a bunch of punk kids also. There are always a few people who understand and a whole horde of followers.

  • @Aegelana weren't the 60's and 70's back when labor rights and government social programs actually functioned?

  • @frizzlefrie Musicians do what politicans cannot in this modern world of TV News, Texas Textbooks,, this nerfed world of ours; they speak the truth. Theyre should, and usually are no "politics". The etymology of politics; "affairs of the city", find me a musician who wants to rule us, no you shall not, as they recognize as we should, that we rule ourselves and always shall. All men are created equal, have respect for your fellow man frizzlefrie, and you will have respect for yourself.

  • @ChristopherZelIer Music and politics are both part of culture. They are interrelated. They may be different ends of the spectrum but they are affected by each other. What happens in the political arena can sometimes fuel the emotion behind art. Art can affect how people view the world. People's view of the world can affect politics. Everything that has to do with humans is interrelated.

  • @frizzlefrie Politics and music at its core are unrelated, political music is deeper than politics, are you dense? Music is so much more than politics you fool. Bob Dylan- Hurricane; Would one call this a political song!? NO it is about racism, and a flawed judicial system. These are not political issues such as taxes, entitlement programs., whatever other petty governmental issue politicans like to argue over so they risk not saying anything of importance.

  • this guy and anthony b. would be more amazing then ... nothing would compare

  • I strive to be as happy as the drummer (:

  • For anyone who loves bands like Ben Harper, Gavin Degraw, Jason Mraz, DMB etc and would like to check out some new, honest music, please visit my band Red Dust Road at reddustroad doht com and you can download our 6 track EP for FREE, or just click the username below. While you're there please give us a 'like' on Facebook too - support new bands and decent, honest songwriting! We apologise if you see this as spam, but we just wanna give out some free new music you might like! Much love, RDR

  • Thanks Ben!!!

  • Ps. Ben Harper wouldnt like it either.

  • Please don't taint music such as this with bickering people; Do you think Dave Matthews or Tim Reynolds would appreiate your arguing over issues unrelated to what they are singing about; love. Love each other and be happy. Politics and music are unrelated. Music is about freedom, love, and happiness, death and mourning, human feeling. It is so much more than we know. So please, everyone, shut up unless you have something positive or well thought out to say. Defeatism never helped anything.

  • @ChristopherZelIer Politics and music unrelated, are you dense? There was an entire music devoted to political unrest and teen angst-PUNK. Look back even further into the enlightment era i mean all those plays written in that era were devoted to sattirical pokes at government and all had music in them. Music is whatever the artist wants to make it's not all free loving hippie bullshit like you want to believe and yes DMB has plenty of political music hes from South Africa...that ends my rant

  • Free freedom! OCCUPY WALL STREET!

  • I find it puzzling that American people refer to Harper, or Obama, as "black". Beside the fact it's irrelevant when it comes to qualifying his personal, musical qualities, or in whatever possible way, apart maybe for describing him to someone (like he's tall, or blond, or bald) why the hell would he be more black than white? The moment you have African blood or DNA, you're black? If that's the case, as an anthropologist, I've got news for all of you: we are all black.

  • Stumbs up if zach Braff brought you there(:

  • @starhawks1 I'd rather follow a dirty hippy than a right wing bigot

  • @djembeweaver well that's your right and your problem

  • @starhawks1 It is my right, but it is not my problem, because I don't follow either. I was just saying that given the choice.....

    <
