  • THE soundtrack to the absolute end of the innocence..the '60's.. the best of times..the worst of times (viet-effin-nam..public executions of political leaders) every one kwuel in the arts, music and fashion have tried to harken back to that era since that time ..and for good reason...beck and radiohead are my fave 21st century embodiments of this spirit....^^^^^^ ****** thx

  • Great german version:

  • @123456734459- you are very welcome!

  • This song has such an old sound to it. I know the lyrics, but the song itself just sounds of better times even though I don't think the '60's were all peachy. Not with 'nam. Hard to put into words, but basically just a melancholy beautiful song.

  • Love that song. I'm only 22 ^^

Noticed that lots of songs of 1963 are really awesome. That was a great year for the music.

  • Remembering happy high school life........

  • Just beautiful, Ron!! Mike Pender is doing lead, Chris Curtis comes in and their voices, together, are sweeet!!!

  • @ChrisCurtisFan- hi Cheri! Thanks for stopping by! Ron

  • First folk-rock ever - two years before the Byrds.

  • @Hippie1944- thanks Hippie! Ron

  • I love this song; great harmonies and a meaningful message.

    Thank you.

    5*****.

    Jennie.

  • @Kittielips- you are very welcome Jennie! Ron

  • My mum used to love this song and I think that it would go down well in their live shows, especially since so many soldiers have been at war for such a long time!! THEY SHOULD SWAP IT FOR YOUNG GIRL and could maybe slow it down a bit and I'm sure the audience would join in!!!!

  • @rich88b-hi Rich, yes I bet this song would be a better concert song than "Young Girl" for the Searchers and their audience. Ron

  • Say There

    Ron...

This is a first for me!!! I am more familiar with the Kingston Trio's single...but The Searchers work up a fine harmonic convergence in their own way for sure.

    Thanks,

    Max

  • @stewballmax3-glad you liked it Max! Ron
