However, being an entertainer in the Florida tourist zone I am aware most people don't know much - SO - if they associate ANY Hula with Hawaii, then it is advertised as Hawaiian ,-] There are a bunch of "raggae" bands that do "commercial calypso" - the tourists think it's raggae. They would likely hate real raggae. So it goes! Tahitain is way sexier and more fun - but in the real world of marketing, "a rose is a rose - by any other name would smell as sweet" ,-]

people often think its hula because thats the most porpular island dance inthe states. its well advertised and the word is easier to pronounce.

Hawaiian Hula are slower dances, every movement telling a story. The very fast form of Tahitian Dancing as shown in the video is called Otea. Slow style in Tahitian dancing is called aparima.
