Thanks for the video, it's a good movie, though I know the book by heart and love it, and it's quite different... in the book, it's not war that changes things for Sarah, nor does her father come back from the dead... still, I feel this version is much truer to the story and Sarah's character than the 30's one. The 80's British adaptation is most like the book though.

This version of the LP is pretty good - the only thing is, in some ways it borrows heavily from the Shirley Temple version (girls wake up in decorated room, are accused of stealing, attempt a daring escape, father is alive but has amnesia and recognizes Sara in the nick of time). None of this is in the book, which I find preferable to both films.

Have you read the book? It not even close to what the movie is. The movie is based loosely on the book. Its so far different and better than the book imo. Sorry, but its true... In the book, her father actually dies! How sad is that?!
