  • The songs being played are as follows.

    @ 1:14 " Ecco la Primavera"

    @ 1:52 "Trotto"

    @ 3:06 "Lamento la Rotta"

  • First saw this two years ago-- still love the choice of action shots and great music. Ever consider expanding it?

  • I miss pennsic!!! I swear I'm going badk one day. Its my goal. Great job on the video ;)

  • I've not been back to Pennsic since # 26. *sigh*

Miss that place. Don't miss the long drive to get there though. :)

  • My last was XXIV, and I believe I still have a Walsyngham Way cassette somewhere. I miss Pennsic and House deLondres.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • i am a swampy and i must say the topsider video was awesome 5 stars see you next year after my 50 week town run.

  • What's the source of the music?

  • CD by Walsingham Way, a long-defunct early music group from Winnipeg. (Percussion by the then-Baroness of Castel Rouge.)

  • Ummm...if you ever want to sell that CD..... :D

  • What a sweet, gentle look at Pennsic! That's by far my fav. video compendium!

  • i wanna join the SCA but i cant :( no cash at all paying rent comes first sadly

  • That was a nice video!:-)

i can't wait to go this year!!

  • I haven't been to Pennsic in ages. What's the headcount up to now?

  • According to the Pennsic Independent, last year's total was 11,595. It's generally higher in "anniversary" years; PW35 had over 13k

  • That's really old footage. I saw Countes Chelsea walking through the merchant area scantilu clad-her last Pennsic was 29 so far as I know. Sir Geoffery reading a book at the Mid-East imports booth. They haven't done a booth in like 5 years because now all their drums get sold online and i think Geoff hasn't been back since he stopped getting paid to go.

  • As it says in the notes, PW 27,

  • Nice compilation! Good sampling of various aspects of the War (and nice to see northshield up there by Master McGuire's Bridge :-))

  • Mater McGuire? The drawbridge was built by Lord Corydon Rathbone at Pennsic 25.

  • Not the drawbridge, the plank bridge closer to the road, with the railing on one side. Master John McGuire built that one for Pennsic 23

  • Thanks for clarifying that. My first Pennsic was 22, but Northshield didn't start using N-19 until PW 25, so that bridge had always been there far as I knew. I would stand on that bridge to brush my teeth every morning, so I could spit into the creek.

  • I've been in the SCA on and off, on and off, for over 20 years now -- and I've NEVER been to Pennsic, despite living that entire time in the Midrealm. Currently I'm in an "off" phase with a 2-year-old son, but watching this video makes me think "Hmm.... He'd probably look good in a tunic." :-) Maybe in another year or two we'll be ready to tackle it! Until then, post more videos! I'll have to live vicariously.

  • Pennsic ist ein love!

  • Just wondering...what is happening in the video at 3:52-3:53? Is it some sort of wrestling or swordplay maybe?

  • The man with the shoulder tattoo (Viscount Niklos) is a former professional wrestler. He and Sir Cecil were just showing off for the crowd.

  • this was great, it was my first pennsic, i flew in from lochac(australia), i remember this all, met some great and kind people from northshield, i am in the USA now, i live in Atlantia, black diamond, Salem Va.

  • Hey, I remember you. I'm the guy with the camera and the silly drum song. - Berwyn

  • sca kicks ass, my friend and i wish we could do this kind of stuff, right now where making our own armor. working on some chainmail at the moment

  • Good job! Wish I could go again. I went in 1992 and 1993. Had a blast!

  • nice work. i am impressed.

  • That was great! Really makes me sad that my ENTIRE family is going to Pennsic this year except me. Ky

  • Hi Berwyn - I can't believe that the bridge that Lyneya and I painted is featured so well ... and that you didn't get more video footage of the beautiful women. I mean, why else fight the "evil" Sir Tarrach?

    -Ravenna

  • Actually, the original version did show you while speaking those lines (which can stilll be heard) but I figred that from a PR perspective, showing ladies tied to a post would be inappropriate.

  • What a nice surprise - I am in this video! I am the woman with the spiral on her forehead at about 03:11. And here I was trying to remember which war that was and if I had been there.

    -- Brigit of Clanne Preachain

  • And here all these years I've been wondering who that was. - Berwyn

  • Hey! I painted that Circle Gate! Thanks for including us in your compilation, it was very enjoyable to watch and brought many a smile to my face.

  • Absolutely grand, going to Pennsic 35 for my second event and now I'm more psyched than ever...

  • captures Pennsic brilliantly!!!! I can't wait to go back!

  • Hey great video i have yet to attend Pensic but this is the first video I have seen on it looks great

  • very enjoyable video. makes me want to trek all the way up there one day!
