Man, I'm glad that I somehow watched this video and accidentally slide the player timeline to the part you said about 'parenting the hard to the bone and binding the soft'....it just helped me with my maya hair problem. :D Thank you very much, now I believe in destiny, lol. Great tutorial, and again, thank you. :)
What I wanted to add: If you skin bind everything, you can also select the components you don't want to deform -> convert to verts and then use the component editor, select the appropriate column from top to bottom and enter 1.0 as weight.
At least that saves the trouble of having to _paint_ the weight.
Yeah, I guess it's probably Best to try to stay under 4 minutes anyway. I'm not going to put up the rest of the rigging lessons that I film with the camera, I'm just going to try to redo them with the capture program. Well, take care.
You really helped me. Thanks

I've often wondered how to blend soft bind and rigid without separating the hell out of the geometry, and you're right, it will save a lot of time!

Glad you got the capture program to work.
4 minutes is very workable.
As far as the work goes, it's amazing the similarities in functionality between the 2D and 3D programming.
Be Well.
