@KrimzonFX I got in 2 years ago (not attending though) with a 2240 SAT, 800 in maths and physics subject tests, 10 A* at GCSE and 45 IB. People get rejected with better stats, others get in with lower. Make sure you put lots of thought into your essays. The whole application process is online so it's quite efficient and you have complete control over it. Good luck!

Oh my gosh! I went to Mitty and Berkeley, too. Good luck getting into Cal! I actually had a really high gpa at Mitty, but I think you should be able to get in with that. If not, and if you are still set on Cal, you can always try transferring. I hope you get in! Compared to MItty, I found Berkeley very challenging, but it sounds like you've taken enough AP/Honors courses to enjoy the challenge. Good luck!!!!

But i know that it's extremely expensive to study in Berkeley, I know that you will pay $46,708 a year, so... But Berkeley is one of the best in California, ther are 7 proffeser teaching who received a Nobel prize :)

Berkeley is not expensive at all for in-state tuition, although Out-of-staters do have to pay a pretty penny. But, it is an amazing institution situated within an urban region, mountainous country hills, several suburban sections. It is also very close to Lawrence Berkeley National Labs, Richmond Field Station, and fairy close to San Francisco.

Not too many yuppies at Berkeley. Haha, Berkeley's got a mix of everything. Some yuppies by North Shattuck (near safeway/the cheeseboard), and other yuppies on South College (by Icee) , but immediately south of campus is Telegraph (very NON yuppy) and immediately north of Campus is a residential hillside section. Climb up the hills behind Berkeley for beautiful views of San Francisco.

But the difference is, I actually chose UCLA [b/c I lived in LA and I hated long driving] and up until now, I still have my regrets. Not because UCLA sucked or something. Congratulations from an alumnus. Is there any better place to study engineering? No, I think not. Just remember to stay sane, organize your time, and not get cynical. This place will push you very very hard and you will run into your fair share of neurotic weirdos in the CoE, but it all forces you do dig deep within yourself and show them what you are made of. This sense of never letting anything stop you will stick you forever. It is a great time to be an engineer. Congrats again and Go Bears!
