New to handgun loading and have a question about the 'bell' Believe I have station #2 correctly setup, the casing matches the picture in the setup guide. The bullet will sit perfectly on the casing (just testing) I can with pressure push the bullet into the casing. Is that a no-go?
p.s. Thanks for the info on the bullet, primer and power.
@MsQuestor The bullet should be sitting slightly in the case, not on top, and when you run the ram up it should seat without any noticeable force. I had that problem once but its just cuz I had my bullet seated waaaay too deep.
what is the cheapest i could get something like this for? I heard i can save lots of money reloading 9mm and the bigger the caliber the more i will save when i get to bigger calibbers. Right now i buy my 9mm for like 10-11 at walmart
@bobiscool308 Cause that Tool Head I normally use to load for my SKS. I hardly load any 7.62x39, so I swapped the dies out for some 9mm dies. I usually like to have a Tool Head with dies for each caliber and keep them calibrated but that can get expensive. So I'll just swap the dies sometimes.
@myantispambox if you go to gunbroker or several places online will sell them if you look hard. you can get approx 4000 for $400 plus like $15 shipping the last time I looked. Good luck!
@rage801 To re-size the cases I usually use Midway Spray and size or Dillon case lube. On the press its self I use Barricade or 3 in 1, any gun oil works fine.
I'm trying to decide between a 550 and a 650. I shoot about 500 rounds of .223, 1,000 rounds of .40 S&W and 200 rounds of .45ACP per month. What do you recommend?
The 550 and 650 both can do .223, .40, .45acp. Over all the 550 can do more calibers. The 650 puts out more rounds per hour though. If you want the ability to do just about ever round out there, get the 550. I use lee dies on my dillian, the shell holder or covertion kit have to be dillian. Lee dies cost less and are equal quality.
I use Winchester 231 power. I buy it in bulk 8lbs. I buy bulk perjectiles from Montana Gold, 1000 115 grain FMJ. I buy small pistol primers by the 1000. What ever primers I can find. I pick up ones fired brass at the local range. I save alot of money or you could say I shoot alot. It comes out to be half the price of Wal Mart ammo.
Will this work with any brand die set?

why is there such a shortage of primers
Jordan327E 10 months ago
Hey nelsonboy707, Some denatured alcohol or (with a little more effort) rubbing alcohol will remove that ink off the toolhead.

what polish do u use?
jkatz44 1 year ago
@jkatz44 I use a Dillon Vibrator with Dillon Rapid Polish and Dillion Walnut Hull polish. That mixture works great on the really dirty old brass.
