The KFC is an early and simple example of what is called product "integration"..They actually wrote KFC product into the script...This is becoming more common today as product "placement" is being replaced by advertisers preferring to be part of the script itself rather than just be in the shot somewhere..I work in television media and so I see this all the time. Jay Tarses couldnt have done a better job as the Coach..Reminds me of Coach Ron Amy at Yorba Jr. High in Orange, CA..to a TEE!
"what happened to the kid?"...."i don't know he quit, he was a third stringer, I didn't need him." hahahahaha...and the speech at the end was so random. Michael J. Fox was thinking to himself..."what the hell???." great movie.
I like how when the team is losing he is wearing sweats to the game, but when they start winning he starts wearing the suit. Nice attention to detail by the movie crew.
I found Bobby Finstock character in this movie very hillarious in this movie too. It's like he don't want to hear about teenage problems, so he contrives this absurd dialogue with Scotty in the belief that Scotty wants to borrow money. Only to leave Scotty more confused than when he went in to see the coach. I think the reason we like this character is because he can bs his way out of a sticky situation, without seeming uncaring and cold.

Looking back it seems somewhat ridiculous that a guy MJ Fox's size could be a basketball player at all no less one who had any credibility.

that guy would be a cool PE teacher, he would give full credit to you even if you took 25 minutes to run a mile.

Yeah, I met a guy named Albuquerque Slim once. Unfortunately, I thought New Mexico was in Mexico (like NYC is in NY) so I played him and lost big.
"Strip Pinochle" doesn't even make sense and I would recommend no one ever attempt it.
