@millerusaf that is funny since I train panic shot all the time. In fact many Federal agencies train it all the time, so do many specialized schools. This technique has also been used in the old west. Next time know what you are talking about before posting.
@Warpath2198 I do know what I'm talking about. I've been trained by many professionals. It's great to practice that kind of draw, but if the target is that close, you need to focus on unarmed combatives in order to disorient your opponent and gain distance to draw your firearm.
Just providing feedback, that's all. Take it or leave it. :)
@Warpath2198 Nope, not standard issue military training. Like I said, it's great to practice that draw (I do), but practicing close unarmed defense would be also very beneficial.
OMG ok I rated video 5 stars only so people can see what not to do. Dude man you almost shot your hand. Good drill but...dude you put your left hand in front of the muzzle of a chambered firearm... and then I saw your finger slightly go back onto trigger as your about to stuff it back into your pants. I have some videos also so I'm not talking blindly.
His comment was regarding the safe action of carrying a Glock while chambered. Glock doesn't use external safety that needs to be clicked off before firing, yet the internal safety of the Glock makes it safe to carry chambered in a semi auto handgun. Has nothing to do with a hammer.
ouch.... look were her hand is, was he pulling his shirt on trying to shoot himself, go watch some front sight training vids... in a real fight, you might of shot your hand.
you dont have the time or the distance to aim if the target is right on top of your weapon. Thats why the gun is tucked into the shooter's stomach with the slide angling out away from the body and the other hand is tucked up and away from the gun, close to the chest. I see very little wrong with what they did. I dont carry like that but it is a faster position to draw from. Just not comfortable if you sit down alot.
true that.. gabriel is too big to need a gun, you smell me? after seeing this video again, looks more like a close call... but good control of the gun...peace..
Go watch some Gabe Suarez training videos and learn "real life" tactics. Front sight doesn't compare and I have DVD's from both. Gabe won't try to sell you a condo either.
This kind of drill is pretty good in my opinion. Notice he is seeking to draw the weapon from concealment and shoot by pointing not aiming as fast as possible. This is exactly the kind of thing that could save you in the unfortunate event that a bad guy is close to you with a deadly weapon.
I know he got a lot of thumbs down feedback, but I wouldnt stick a gun without a manual safety or exposed hammer into my pants anywhere near my cock and balls either. Those things are too important to me to trust to a trigger safety. Maybe all the people that gave him thumbs downs are chicks....?
Don't try that with a Glock or other "Finger Safety" firearm or you will end up shooting yourself like an idiot.

Try that with someone that close to you in a real fight, and you may wind up dead.
Not a bad drill to do for practice, but you may want to think about creating distances before drawing your firearm.

@millerusaf I hope you are not talking about the military because quite frankly they hand out terrible training when it comes to sidearms.

Glock is not the only maker of hammerless firearms.

Good demo for Gun shooting, but are you using Glock? If not, are you carrying your gun loaded and safety off?

I wonder if this guy realizes he almost shot his dick off? HOLY SMOKES GUY KEEP THAT FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER before and after you fire!
biosbasher 3 years ago
His finger is indexed until the muzzle clears his body. His gun handling is fine.
ViEtRiCeR 3 years ago 7
I agree with you but would like to see him index his finger on the frame of the gun and not across the trigger guard when holstering.
