Makes me sad reminds me of when my wife died in my arms on 2009 it should have been the other way around. Any way he is one of the best song writers and singers that ever lived
His stage presence is just immense. I saw him a couple of years ago and he can capture the entire audience just as one man with a guitar and the wrong harmonica :-)
Without doubt one of the greatest song writers ever. Maybe his voice isn't great but who cares. His songs fit his voice perfectly. He sings this beautiful song from the heart. Listen to the words, they ring in my soul.
@richardguitar1 I dont agree with you at all. I find it very relaxing to listen to him He might not sound like Jose Carreras or Josh Groban, but thenagain, who would want him to? To me his voice sounds perfect to the lyrics he wrote, and imo thats all that matters.
Kris, his songs, about life - love and war, his voice, his special charme, will live forever. I'm not alone loving him..Thanks for sharing..Love from Norway.
I love his singing. Someone said "his voice is honest". He's presenting wonderful thoughts in the best way he can. He's not singing for us to admire his voice. He's a real "writer"...with a degree in English literature, was an officer in the military, is a helicopter pilot...in his life has accomplished more than most people.
It does not matter what his vocal capabilities are. The best songwriter ever does not need to be the best singer. I have a double album called singer/songwriter. One CD is Chris doing his own songs and the other CD is everyone who has done his music - Johnny Cash, Janis Joplin, etc. and the only CD I listen to is Kris doing his own songs.
Well Kris isn't exactly known for his vocal abilities, plus, this was an outdoor show. It was freezing cold, raining, windy... He's one of the greatest songwriters ever and I'll take him over the shit that's on the country music radio stations nowadays - off key or not. Did that sound like I was defending him? I hope so, because I was! :)
So sorry girl!!! it's still a great piece of camera work though. thankk you once again, if you like Chis you'll love a blues singer named Chris Smither, he's also on youtube sings a lovely sons " I dont know and Surprise surprise!!
he's a part of all of us if we admit it. not ashamed to be free with how he feels and thinks. hopefuly we'll all learn to be free like him. he's amazing. lead the way mr. k. xxx
I love this song and this man. To hagtar12 - so true. I just had my 30+ Gibson Dove retro-fitted by one of the best lutharies in the country - Ron Pinkham. Incredible sound.
somebody commented, "too bad hes a liberal". What a shame. Listent to his words. He is a man whom has walked the path before we have. He has written music from his own life. His rights and wrongs. The man is a true modern day "King Soloman". Ecclesiatstes. Read it, understand it! God bless
This is the first song of Kris's that I heard on the radio way back in early 70s. I have loved his songs ever since. He is a giant. I saw him earlier this year at the Royal Albert Hall and he was as awesome as ever. God Bless You Kris.
I still miss the girl this reminds me of

Kristofferson may actually sound better when he is off key or sounding a little rough--it seems to make the words more believable!

I love the simple way he sung this song. A way a man would speak about a love, that was the love of his life
