So much so they outdid Bad Company that night.

It used to be one special, but then for awhile they had 1 guitarist featured on an episode. 11 - 13 years ago or so? My comment above isn’t clear. Guitarists who are his age weren’t influenced, but all say what a fab musician he is. Huge influence on guitarists younger than him. No need to agree with his views, but they give credit for what a great musician he is. You = good taste!

Guitarists before him, (BB King, Eric Clapton, etc.) all say he was the first guitarist they’d ever seen who played like the guitar was part of his body. Contemporaries, Ace Frehley, and Angus Young in Nugent’s prime cited him as the best. Then Slash, Eddie Van Halen, Malmsteen, etc. all cited Nuge as their biggest influence. 50 million albums sold, and a heap of influence on guitarists means nothing., Oh but if you hunt you'll never be in the HOF.

@24SweetThing - Well put! If you've ever seen the VH1 specials on Guitar Gods, they all say the same thing. It used to be one special, but then for awhile they had 1 guitarist featured on an episode. 11 - 13 years ago or so? My comment above isn’t clear. Guitarists who are his age weren’t influenced, but all say what a fab musician he is. Huge influence on guitarists younger than him. No need to agree with his views, but they give credit for what a great musician he is. You = good taste!

Damn Yankees were damn good. Nugent is definitely one of the best of all time. He could make a guitar fucking talk. Ive always loved Nugent. Todays music doesnt even come close to this music. Plzzz bring back the 80s, where life was a hell of alot simpler. Just burn one and enjoy the music.

Three years ago or so, some network interviewed Nuge about the HOF, and he actually said something similar to you. “Ehh. They don’t want me in because I hunt. Hunting is fun. Entry to a building that has no standards is not.” Then he did go off about some of other artists he believed should be there. KISS, Crue, etc.

@caulinrocker Read my post again. Frehely, Young & Perry were contemps & said, “He’s the best I’ve ever seen.” Never an influence, same age. Nugent’s first LP in 66 with the Amboy Dukes. Yes EVH had already learned, but was a drummer until he heard Nuge. Slash, DeVille, and many others all considered him an influence. BB & Clapton always said he was the 1st guitarist they’d ever seen who played like the guitar was part of his body. On VH1 Guitar Gods, and mentioned in several metal mags.

All of the guitar player’s I mentioned said that. King & Clapton said Nugent was the first guitar player they’d seen who played like the guitar was his body, and who played like that. Frehely and Young WERE NOT talking about influences, but who they considered the best (other than themselves) at the time. And VH and Slash definitely gave him recognition as an influence.

I USED to respect Nugent but here is why the fuck I dont anymore : 1) He defered the draft by the following methods: enrolling in community college, disavowing hygiene by eating junk food and both defecating and urinating in his clothes, 10days before evaluation 2) He admitted to High Times he smoked pot with the MC5,dropped LSD a few tmes and even tried cocaine DESPITE proclaiming to be staunch anti-drug. 3) He adopted a 17year old hawaiian for the sole purpose of sex (pedophile). Fuck Nuge!

Never a mention in the R & Roll HOF of Nugent. Guitarists before him, (BB King, Eric Clapton, etc.) all say he was the first guitarist they’d ever seen who played like the guitar was part of his body. Contemporaries, Ace Frehley, and Angus Young in Nugent’s prime cited him as the best. Then Slash, Eddie Van Halen, Malmsteen, etc. all cited Nuge as their biggest influence. 50 million albums sold, and a heap of influence on guitarists means nothing., Oh but if you hunt you'll never be in the HOF.

@pedraw R&R HOF is a sham. Many musicians should be in, and aren’t. So many have said they won’t appear at an induction if KISS isn’t in. People think “all show, can’t play” BS. Listen to their albums. When Dick Clark says they are one of the top 5 musical acts EVER and by the best far live, his words mean something. Then they all come to the defense of NUGE, who should be in on talent alone. Madonna in and neither of those. Maybe she’s good, but that’s not R&R.

On “Guitar Gods” on VH1, Nugent was cited by many musicians as one of their biggest influences. Therefore, he is not in the HOF because he hunts and his views.
