  • I was expecting more of a Google Chrome notebook type of netbook... Isn't this just a laptop? What's the difference between this thing and a laptop...

  • @WorldlyMusi A Netbook is just a laptop. It also happens to be very very small. Designed for ultra portability and made exclusively for browsing the internet using a full computer interface (as opposed to a smart phone or the like). I found one of these fantastic as a student on an extremely tight budget, and it easily lasted me about two years before I upgraded to an HP Probook

  • the only problem with using the brightness full blast is it kills the battery

  • would this be good for playing on full tilt poker

  • I really got entertained by this one.

  • How well does this unit perform on SD youtube videos and iTunes music playing?

  • Very nice reviews! It´s really helping me decide between this and the 1005HA model. Thanks

  • i'll rarther go with the 1005 at the moment...

the 1101HA is lacking a few things at first lol but i'll probs get the 1101HA wiuthin the next yr seeing as a new model will be out

  • I bought this 3 weeks ago

After hack into motherboard and upgrade the hd to SSD, then reinstall win 7

this machine start up window applications in no time, such as MS office.

the most poor thing is about runing flash, not even handle smoothly with 2 youtube video running at the same time, Not to mention about playing game.

The performance issue do resolve when CPU "over clock to 30%", super hyper engine to super "high perform", and power option "high perform" . win exp index from 1.9 to 2.5.

  • try it out with any distro of linux ubuntu... it gets the most out of hardware... it's easy free and fast... it's up to you.

  • its a netbook man.... what the hell do you want ? to play games? LOL....

  • Who cares about Windows 7, will it run Linux?

  • Of course. Any computer that can run Windows can run Linux.

  • since its an atom z520 processor, this thing is paired with a intel gma500 gpu, and linux does not have support for the gma500 so no linux.

  • I'm thinking of buying this netbook or the Samsung N140. I prefer the N140 because of it's non glossy screen, but I like the Asus becaus of its 11.6" . Can anyone tell me how bad the reflection of the Asus screen is? I'm going to use it a lot outdoors, in the train and in the garden. Whats the best buy?!

    Greetz, Allaar

  • Allaar that will not be a problem because you can maximize the LED screen light and then almost no reflex. Of course it makes battery to run out faster but now you have 10 hours of it xD

  • I just got the 1101. Love it!! For me the glare has not been an issue at all. The screen is so sharp and gets so bright it really makes a difference. I have not, however, used it outside in the bright sunshine. I've used it indooors in various lighting and have been quite pleased.

  • As you can see it at the end of the video - the reflections are very bed even if the scene on the screen is not dark... if it is... you have the feeling to look at a mirror which just drives many users mad. What a pity - the screen resolution appears for the first time usable for a netbook. Of course it is slow - the only chance to power such a big display using the same battery was to make the processor slower. I won't buy it because of the reflective screen.

  • its back-lit by LEDs of course its the brightest netbook... its a fact

    RTFM !

  • you are the only hwo says that the Eee 1101HA have a bright Display

  • i heard it can be with a 1.66 cpu.. can anyone tell me if it;s true??

  • No, the 1101HA comes with the Intel Z series Atom processors which start at 1.3 GHz (Z520) and max out at 1.60 GHz (Z530). Although there are several advantages of having the Z series processors over the N series.

    :)

  • Could you tell us a few? I know it´s better to overclock. It gets 30% higher and the N270/N280 gets 10%. But in the end, if both overclocked, they´ll get very similar. Any other point you´d mention? Thanks

  • thanks, good reviews.

  • nice

  • Dave's the God of reviewing!!!!

  • good reviews..
