No nation is absolutely advanced if they don't do something about the pollution they create.
The oceans may be filled with oil, but the risk of an oil spill is extremely high. Drilling should be located at oil spots that are NOT located near environmentally sensitive areas, i.e. deserts.

Actually I Disagree. The Parties can only Govern WITH OUR CONSENT. If we get a Grass Roots level Voters Revolution going and TAKE Back the Party's and KICK OUT the Corrupt Assholes. Palin (Like her or Loath her) and Jindal have taken on the BOTH Parties at State Level and succeeded to a certain extent.

If you are referring to Ron Paul, I understand what you are talking about. Ron Paul though a Good man, is Not the one to Lead. Unfortunately (being realistic) he has the Charisma of a Brick.
I looked at Ron Paul early in the Race (as I did with ALL Candidates (inc GOP & DNC) and found there was a lot to impress. He is a Good man, helped Hundreds of people and is a man of Honor. I then looked at his Policies and record. Ugh. I beleive in SMALL Government, not Anarchy!

what the USA should do is try to use less oil, and investigate on new, renewable energies, and anyway, opposite to what most people think, the usa government's main priority isnt security against terrorist atacks (which is ironic because more people die murdered by other americans than they do by terrorists!) but mantain the american way of life, which means-PETROLEUM!, and its never been so obvious!- bush, condoleeza rice and dich cheney all worked for the petroleum industry at some moment!

If you really believe that giving the oil companies even more control over these resources will bring prices down, I have a bridge I'd like to sell you. These oil companies are just like a liquor store owner selling bottles of water for $20 after a hurricane because his store is the only one left standing. Price gouging with impunity throughout the Bush administration. Cheap last second political ploy to keep the gravy train rolling. Thanks Democrats for keeping us from being screwed even more.

The price gouging as you call it is done by OPEC and Speculators driving up and down the price. Fact, the oil companies profits are only about 7-8 %. At the same time the government is taking in 16% or more in local taxes. All this BS about Bush is just that BS. Big Government dummies don't want to understand supply and demand logic. Look at the facts, not the rhetoric, children. 8 vetos by a president who turned a surplus into a deficit, and also allowed the enron loophole which allowed specualtors to 'game' the system. Quit being angry. you had it your way(all of it, war, taxes, everthing) for 8 years and things are worse than ever.
