The main points of the bill are well known. It will help over 50,000,000 people who have no health care insurance. It will save billions of dollars in health care costs by lowering premiums. There is nothing unconstitutional about the Federal Government helping people to stay alive. In fact, that is the most fundamental obligation of the Federal Government. I am not mad, but quite reasonable. You need to broaden your sources of information and obtain better role models.

Now, because of this bill, we will be able to get coverage for her. So the way I feel, President Obama and the Democrats who voted for this bill saved my wife's life. I owe them big time.

the bill before congress as it stands is a give away to the insurance industry. How? The mandate that all employers must provide insurance for their employees and all individuals are required to carry insurance. What sector of our economy wouldn't die to have such a mandate? Health Care is too important to be left in the hands of private insurers. The government has to guarantee that every citizen will be covered and get adequate health care. The failure of private health care insurers has led to this crisis which is getting worse year by year.

Generally, I feel that there have been governments that help people (with programs like social security, public education, roads, water systems and governments that hurt people (by starting unnecessary foreign wars, cutting off benefits, lowering taxes for the rich so they become more powerful, etc.).
Having taught at both private and public colleges for the last 15 years, I must say that the quality of education at public colleges is higher and the cost much lower.
No, I am not angry at President Obama for sending more troops to Afghanistan. It seems to me a reasonable thing to do, to try to stabilize the situation before leaving. I am happy that he has set a reasonable timetable for the return of troops.

I've had private insurance about 12 years. I can handle the premiums. That's because they SCREEN. I question why we who have congenital health conditions are treated unfairly. Insurance companies dictate what states we live in (and we'd all be best off living in Mass now). If a person is trying to get somewhere and some people block their path, you do not blame the person for not being able to get where they want to go, you blame the people blocking their path. Pres. Obama is trying to get all 47 million covered, at the moment, the Republicans and some Democrats are blocking that proposal, so we can only get 23 million people. Hopefully, these obstructionists will be voted out in 2010 and we can move forward.
Premiums will be lower for all when the bill passes.

The main points of the bill are well known. It will help over 50,000,000 people who have no health care insurance. It will save billions of dollars in health care costs by lowering premiums. There is nothing unconstitutional about the Federal Government helping people to stay alive. In fact, that is the most fundamental obligation of the Federal Government. I am not mad, but quite reasonable. You need to broaden your sources of information and obtain better role models.

Now, because of this bill, we will be able to get coverage for her. So the way I feel, President Obama and the Democrats who voted for this bill saved my wife's life. I owe them big time.

Generally, I feel that there have been governments that help people (with programs like social security, public education, roads, water systems and governments that hurt people (by starting unnecessary foreign wars, cutting off benefits, lowering taxes for the rich so they become more powerful, etc.).

Having taught at both private and public colleges for the last 15 years, I must say that the quality of education at public colleges is higher and the cost much lower.
No, I am not angry at President Obama for sending more troops to Afghanistan. It seems to me a reasonable thing to do, to try to stabilize the situation before leaving. I am happy that he has set a reasonable timetable for the return of troops.

From 1950-1980, the rise was .1 degree
From 1980-2010, the rise was .5 degree.
Knowing the catastrophic effects that small increases in mean temperature can have on environments, this is truly frightening.
We are already seeing absolutely the effects in the melting of artic glaciers, stronger storms and the rise of sea levels. This really scares me.

The status qua is the result of the government failing to fully pay for Medicare patients care. The current bill is designed to drive private insurance companies out of business and leave the federal government in control of it all.

I saw a story the other day about a NEWBORN baby that was denied coverage because it was too big. How many other ways are the health care insurers going to find to deny coverage? What about people who get cancer because they were just unlucky enough to be born with a predisposition to get it? What about people who get into accidents, but because they can't afford to pay for premiums, get turned away for having a preexisting condition?

Health insurance after tax margins are under 4%, the steps that the companies take that are considered outrageous are what keep the system from collapse. You remove preexisting and you remove caps (how many Ian Pearls will crawl from the woodwork?), tax medical devices, the only pressure relief valve is to raise premiums.

Stop trying to ram a goliath change down everyone's throat. "Reform" of this magnitude is something best done in much smaller increments, so that each and every part can be scrutinized justly. That also prevents a mortal shock to the economy and the population as a whole.

To date we have yet to have a single Judge willing to hear the Presentments and prosecute Obama for Treason and Fraud.
