  • This is just another example of trying to make the Dems look bad because someone opposed it. This really means nothing.

  • And what? Does EVERY green organization haev to agree with the tax for it to be okay? Does everyone who might be related to a subject have to agree that its okay to do something before you do it? Can I eat before the approval of McDonalds, Burger King or Olive Garden?

This video is just another way of saying, "Well its not okay if one person says no."

  • The truth of the matter is that the Republican party is more uninformed than the Democrats. The unfortunate thing with Democrats is that they cant just stand and speak up, rather than keep everything to themselves. The problem with a large sum of Republicans (not all) is that they are either uninformed, or they try to find one small bit of information from a larger subject and make it look like it's a big deal.

Shouting at people does not mean your correct.

  • ScarlettKnights is a perfect example of somebody who just says they're "in the middle" and speaks with no info other than saying "where's your proof" when the proof is right there.

  • Is that a threat? Not all Republicans are rich you know. I could say that all liberals are tree-hugging commies, but that would not be true. Next time, try using some actual facts before criticizing half the nation. It may actually help your invalid argument for once.

Now I will leave you this quote.

"I am a republican because I didn't want to spend my life poor, waiting for the government to rescue me." - Mike Huckabee

  • And one more thing.. There are plenty of liberals who live behinde gated communities...

  • For example?

  • Wow.. I'm a Republican... never been near anyone's sweat, but my own sweat you obvious liberal prick...

  • Educated people usually wish to read for themselves to gain knowledge and this is something Congress is preventing Americans from doing by not posting complete bills in an appropriate manner for revue. Amercians need government transparency to regain trust in our elected officials. I hope you support this view since you appear to support learning!

  • Have you read the H.R.2454 bill passed by the House? This bill has little to do with global warming and much to do with Special Interest Groups and greed! Perhaps thats why it wasn't posted to the Thomas web site until after it passed. Some members of the house didn't want American's to read this bill prior to their vote knowing it was just a hugh tax on Americans.

  • which member's and where can i see this proof?

  • Well, all I know is that it's more important than MJ death!

You can bet Gore,Clinton's,Arab's,Markey,Waxman,Monsanto,Oil companies,etc.. Have there sight's on getting rich!

  • Congress should be required that bills be posted for all members as well as, American citizens to read giving an appropriate amount of time for revue prior to being put up for vote in order for everyone to have time for comments. Congress needs to control itself in a more appropriate professional and educated manner. They represent this nation and I for one do not like what the world is witnessing which appears to be more greed and dishonesty than managing this nations needs.

  • Our congressman voted for it; ee ran as centrist, we all believed him even though he is a dem and he sold us out! I wrote him a letter letting him know we will NEVER vote for him again.

You know who is in favor of this bill - Communists. Go to their little websites and labor sites and you will see how happy they are!!

Conservative representatives need to speak up and speak up loudly and call it what it is......... redistributive, Marxist , liberty killing garbage.

    Tea parties anyone!

  • Is it true the tea party people got their inspiration from the worldwide Iraq war protests in Jan/Feb 03? God, what a miniscule issue Iraq was.

  • I wonder which energy companies Obama has his eye on and will buy up once he causes them to fail, and which he just wants to fail completely.

I wouldn't worry about unemployment too much. Come winter, those of us not chopping wood will have jobs arresting people for chopping wood.

  • i fully support cap and trade. this should have been done 39 years ago when we had two arab oil embargos and americans were replacing their gas guzzlers with le cars, golfs, hondas, and toyotas which got great m.p.g. and we were reducing the national speed limit to 55 m.p.h. and we were just beginning to see how solar power could be the wave of the future. and all of this technology was CHEAPER than would be today. but big energy and the big 3 automakers stood in the way of progress.

  • Devalued inflationary dollar + 25% increase in energy costs = "Brother can you spare a dime?" Seriously folks, in the best of economic times this is pretty risky but passing this BS during the middle of a recession is downright dangerous.

  • I don't want to think bad motivations (like bribery or blackmail) were behind those who voted for this, but I'm really trying to think of positive reasons to vote for it & just can't think of any...I'm trying to believe they were just ignorant, but could they be that stupid? This just seems so obviously of enormous detriment to invidividuals & the nation.

  • I said it 10 months ago!

"What ya gonna do when unemployment hits 15%"?

    LMMFAO!

  • People, collect up the addresses of your legislators now. When the dollar finally crashes (and it will), you will know what to do.

  • Comment removed

  • Grab everyone of these bastards and hangum high!

  • Get ready for more massive unemployment. Then, while you're waiting for some kind of job, your energy costs skyrocket driving you into foreclosure. I can't wait till this Obama nightmare ends.

  • The communists seem to love this bill

  • even some of the more radical lefties are scared of this one.

  • edgemanll2:

Absolutely, however, if you go to some of the communist sites on the Internet they couldn't be happier!

  • @ScarlettKnights

Do you know what the Republicans like? That you are ignorant and uninformed. Funny thing - this is the same Boehner who in Sept 2008 met with Bernanke and Paulson to craft the legislation that bailed out the banks. And the next day he cashed out of a mutual fund that was going to crash. He (emphatically) claimed his broker had no inside info. Oh, but that was when Bush was in office, so it was okay then.

  • @jbugko

Firstly, I'm a libertarian, however, I do believe that republicans

are better informed than dem's. Dem's rely upon keeping a large

pool of people reliant upon government to meet their needs which

    has created 1) a welfare class 2) a quasi-slave class electorate who

believe they are being given a hand up when they really have a boot

    on their necks.

Secondly, you had better have some proof before wildly accusing others

of crimes. Let's see your proof.

  • @ScarlettKnights Who in the hell are you and where do you get your info from? Your asshole?

  • @ShowRStudios

People who have nothing to add to the conversation other than cursing and personal insults do not get answered.

  • I swear this truly is the funniest thing I have ever read - Check it out:

The proposal -- frequently referred to as a cap-and-trade plan -- would establish an emissions trading system that would permit companies that emit fewer greenhouse gases than they are allowed to sell the excess portion to companies that exceed their allowances

I can't wait to see what happens after the September Bank Holiday!

  • Imagine if, in 1966, then President Lyndon B. Johnson had tried to determine what the emissions levels of America should be 42 years into the future. Even if he had gotten together the best and brightest minds of the day, it is unlikely that his advisers would have come up with data that could have anticipated either our energy needs or our standard of living today. Lawmakers wont admit it but, policymakers today are similarly handicapped when it comes to predicting our future needs
