  • The irony is thick here, trying to teach the fundamentals of safe riding by "searching" & "avoiding dangerous situations" and at the same time lane splitting which though many of us do it clearly increases the risk of getting clipped by a car making a sudden lane change or a whacko purposely trying to block you because he's offended you're passing him in that manner..

  • THIS VIDEO SHOWS WHAT "NOT TO DO" WHEN YOU ARE ON A BIKE. THIS IS A STUPID GUY SHOWING A STUPID VIDEO.

  • I changes lanes really fast, cause i pay attention to the cars around me. If you were to come out of the middle of no where with me not knowing you were there... well sucks for you. So if i ever hit you... I hope you get it on video. So it can be uploaded and see how it is NOT safe to do.

  • this idiot will die on a motorcycle...just a matter of time

  • @zone7 you suck and i hate your voice and i hope a fucking car hits you

  • @grow2slowly U R A FAGGGGGGG hes awesome and u have some problems

  • im a sucker for a hot thumbnail....

  • dude u r spliting lanes and talking about safety? lol, dumb ass

  • Lane splitting, I heard (not a rider) is legal in Califormia beacuse bikes can overheat. Is that true that bikes overheat more easily than cars when idling long? Also, lane splitting is not dangerous when done right (i.e., between two cars that cannot cross into each other) and for driver's it pisses off, that's juvenile of the driver. Why should they care if the bike is getting ahead?

  • @herelookatthis exactly. I´m no rider either (yet), but all this talk about "if you do that in my lane, i´ll drive over you with my truck."-shit is immature, childish and absolutely ridiculous.

My girlfriend´s father is a rider and reminded me that motorcyclists have no aircondition in their protective gear, so standing in midsummer in a traffic-jam between 100 cars is not funny for them.

  • @herelookatthis . Lane sharing is legal in California as long as you're not wreckless. And yes, an air-cooled motorcycle can overheat if it runs at an idle for extended periods of time without air flowing over the cylinder heads. I think the the guy in this video is riding too fast though.

  • if i see you do that shit more than once around me on the freeway you aint gotta worry if its illegal or not.....cause thats gonna be the last time you do it. truck vs motorcycle....i win

  • @Koopa512 Why be a nice guy, in control of oneself if one can always be a childish asshole, eh?! It´s waaayyyy easier!

  • I'm a beginner...and would never attempt this lane splitting. BUT this guy is a seasoned rider...he obviously knows what he is doing!

  • Goofy impatient rider pissing everyone off with lane splitting. You shouldn't be instructing anyone.

  • @redriverbluesman Lane splitting is legal in California because it decreases congestion. Lane splitting also saves the wear and tear on air cooled motorcycles. Texas was considering a similar law allowing lane splitting at speeds under 20mph but it died in committee. Lane splitting is common practice in Asian countries where motorcycles and scooters are common place. Yes.. SEE should also apply to cagers. Ignorant Raging Cagers (IRC) kill motorcyclist frequently.

  • @roninmd And we all know what great drivers Asians are.

  • Jesus Man! All These Rides And You Haven't Redlined A Gear Yet!

  • fail

  • SEE: How about that truck to the right, shit flys out, people scattler your way or the stuff flies in your direction. Im constantly doing the SEE. Zone! again with the whitelining! You make me cringe, guess I ride really safe. Again thanks for the ride.Oh and love the pics.

  • is lane spilting allowed in all states?

  • wow! commuter commentary. totally worth 4min and 43 seconds!!! he even posts bikini pics every thirty seconds!

  • Defensive riding its called !!

Ride as if all other are blind..idiots

  • The official website of the California Highway Patrol includes a page of frequently asked questions. Among them: Can motorcycle riders "split" lanes and ride between other vehicles? Lane splitting by motorcycles is permissible but must be done in a safe and prudent manner.

  • great vids mate keep em comin

  • i like the pictures

  • How can you confince your parents that you will be responsible with a motorcycle? My parents arent to happy that im into them.... xD

  • lol those women pictures!!

  • Filtering between 2 relatively fast moving cars with little space is dangerous. But don't confuse lane splitting with constantly changing lanes. That's completely different. You can constantly change lanes without doing it in a dangerous way as long as you check that there's no one coming from behind you and that you also have maneuvering space to the car that will now be in front of you. And when you move you have to be aware and cautious of the driver that was previously in front of you.

  • There is nothing wrong with lane splitting as long as you do it while cars are either stopped or moving slowly, and that you also move slowly through cars. That way there really isn't a security risk.

  • i dont have my motorcycle license yet (im 16), i was wondering if its legal to lane split like that? like just go inbetween lanes?

  • most states consider it illegal; some states don't address it but some cops either consider it illegal or ignore it.

  • @zone07 It's illegal & pisses a lot of 4-wheeled drivers off, but if you pay attention to the lesson in the video (SEE) & include cops in the "Search" aspect of things, you can get away with it & do it somewhat safely. It's a calculated risk. You never know when someone will change lanes without signaling & you're much harder to see on a motorcycle than in a car, but it sure is nice to pass all that heavy traffic.

  • California Vehicle Code allows lane splitting.

  • An idot that lane splits shouldn't be giving safety tips !

  • Kudos dcaniglia. you right about that

  • @dcaniglia From a cager point of view he may look reckless. From a fellow cyclist point of view, he's pretty safe.

  • Good video, a little reckless but I do like the part where you must assume no one sees you. Very true, people are extremely incoherent while driving in their cars and you can easily get hit riding. People that don't ride just don't understand motorcycles, idiots are always tailgating and cutting you off.. if only they had a bike..

  • Dude, when you split cars like that, they might not realize your there because your in their blind spot and they can turn right into, someday this will happen to you, so for your own safety stop doing that, also that pisses drivers off, it really does, because those drivers have to suddenly react to you spliting down the middle

  • why would they turn right into me when there is a car next to them? It is more dangerous when passing someone on the left in my own lane; that is a more likely scenario. Drivers don't have to react to me lane splitting because I'm not as close to them as you may think. The only ones that react are the ones that have seen me and get pissed off and try to scare me when I approach their car. There's no reason for drivers to get pissed at lane splitters; that just shows ignorance.

  • @zone07 no, the ignorant asshole is you. just because your little motecikle will fit dont mean you are allowed to do it. I will open my door as you come past me

  • Stop giving people lessons, this video shows right in the beginning how unsafe you are, you keep going between cars, people that are new to riding are going to try that and get killed. How can you preach about how to ride when you don't even do it correctly and from 37 sec to 50 your completely reckless. We all need to use SEE to look for your ass

  • lane splitting is nothing new; I like your completely reckless comment. And you're right; even in your car use SEE. Everyone should look out for everyone unfortunately no everyone does. Lane splitting is a long debated comment among people that understand it; so explaining it to you would be a waste of time.

  • @zone07 you ride like a limp dick

  • @CrashmagProductions Hate to say it, but his conversations are talking about important aspects of riding in an easy-to-understand, uncharacteristically easy to relate to manner. Is lane-splitting safe? Not exactly, but, he's doing it properly (for the most part) and he's making his pieces worth learning.

  • @CrashmagProductions Lane splitting is legal in California because it decreases congestion.

  • @CrashmagProductions if you're not prepared to split lanes then you might as well be in a bloody car! nothing wrong with it as long as you're prepared for the unexpected.

  • thanks man. that was a nice refreshment on riding safely. i need to pretend like no one see's me more. i forgot about that. peace

  • usually a big scare reminds us; especially when we get cutoff.

  • Getting my bike next week. Took the MSF Basic course last weekend. Your vids are a great complement to that course. They should consider adding something like this to the course. It's good to "see" what the road looks like while riding.

    Keep up the great vids.

  • congrats on the bike.

  • When i ride i use the MIA game...you look for the Morons Idiots and Assholes...think of everything that that person could do and if they do it you will be prepared.

  • zone07 you are just too damn funny. You think too much and contradict yourself. But hey thats cool if you help someone out then Hola. Oh yes I loved youre countries smoke before Reagan dicked it all up. Be careful goofball lol

  • so its safe to go in between all the cars

  • sometimes; if you know what you're doing. It can also safe your life; but that's a very touchy subject. There are many forms that discuss that subject.

  • THANK YOU very much for the MSF Manual.

I think you may have a 'splitting' addiction.

Your camera view is beautiful man! That's probably the best angle for a helmet cam.

    2:31= Nice Subaru

Great job explaining the SEE acronym.

  • Great video. I'm not really sure why you always put the clip art in. It's kind of annoying, but I love your videos and I just subscribed.

  • the clips are thumbnails to make the vids look different on my sites (LV and YT). They were starting to look too similar. Plus I like hot chicks on bikes; or off them.

  • will you b my driving instructor? lol(too bad you're not one) i like how u take the time to explain everything n stuff. great vids

  • another gr8 vid full of "how to ride" tips thx a lot 4 that m8

  • thanks; glad you enjoyed it.

  • you're in a pretty high gear while going pretty slow... why didn't you downshift? just curious

also ever consider getting an Italian breed?;)

  • Was probably in second and didn't want to dive in between cars while shifting into first or shift gears while splitting. Bike response well in second as far as taking off.

  • nice vid , good advice to new riders, common scence is the most critical thing to keeping safe imoho but everything that was said is correct

  • What's 'imoho'?

  • i meant "in my own honest opinion"

  • Ah.. ok. I've never heard that acronym before.

  • WOOOW what you said about "drive like nobody can see you" thats how I learned how to drive a bike.. the first thing my friend said was.. "drive it like you and the bike are invisible!!"

thats crazy!!! good vid! looking forward for the new ones!

  • thanks. Yeah it's crazy; folks have made eye contact with me and have cut me off regardless.

  • I knoooow!!!! It happens soo much! Like you said in another video of yours.. ppl look at their cel phone and dont even care whats happening around them! its sad!

  • Well done! Some of your best video blog info to date.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • thanks; I have a couple more similar vids coming up. Next is T-CLOCS followed by proper breaking

  • Good Job! I think a lot of new riders will be riding Motorcycles this season. Fuel is getting outta site. Its great for you to take the time and try to help some of the more inexperenced rider.

  • thanks. I know the MSF teaches this section in the classroom but is not part of the riding exercise. SEE is very important for every day riding.

  • i've been reading through the FL moto handbook getting ready to take the msf and just covered that acronym. it helps a lot to see theory put in to practice. thanks, and keep it up!

  • thanks. The MSF course should be a lot of fun; well the riding part :o)

  • i just downloaded your book.

    very good one.

  • well it's not mine :o) ... That's the basic rider book from the MSF. I think the course is great for new riders.
