Hey thanks for posting all these Starcade Videos! What great memories! I recently went to Disneyland Resort and they have all the original arcade games at "Flynns Arcade" as part of their nighttime "Electronica" based on Tron Legacy. I was in heaven!
This game is as big as the movie on which it was based that it was featured in the recent "Tron Legacy" and has been featured as a high-score tournament game for events like the Houston Arcade Expo.
That Vic can play the Light Cycles and the Tower like a Tron master. For points, he shoots as many blocks on the tower a.s.a.p. before entering the cone, and in the Light Cycles, when he gets the enemy blocked, he slows down until the enemy gets destroyed.
As for Louise, man, did she stink at the Tank and Tower events. I mean, on the Tower segment, she just gave off 4 to 5 shots and get herself sacrificed to go to an easier phase. She'd been great if she practiced.
@internetotaku I agree with both statements. That poor kids mom was a mess. When she finally figured it out she missed clearing the stage at the buzzer. 3:37
Wow! I can't tell how many quarters I plunked into TRON back in the day! Also one of my FAVORITE movies and the SEQUEL, TRON LEGACY looks good, too. Wish this show still came on today-without reruns.
I love Tron...this is first or second in my list of game machines i want..Star wars being the main competitor..What these early games encapsulize for me cannot be adequately explained in 14 pages of print..

The problem with Tron is that these credits keep typing when you enter a room and it wastes time where you don't get a chance to get more points.

Tron is easily one of the best games of its era.
Pretty impressive for him to beat two of those screens in such a short time period
