  • Wow he's got skills :) I know every autistic child has their own special talent but wow. All my autistic brother can do is play video games lol hopefully he will find something as cool as that to take interest in some day :)

  • This is one of those times that God chose to show up in one of His kids to prove that His power and His grace abound, particularly in the humble underdogs of humanity. God have mercy on the blind egotistical folk who can't get it.

  • A modern day Rudy.

  • That's incredible. Just one shot? No way. He's got much more in him than that.

  • Those shots were looking solid, thick, tight...

  • What a great video.

  • To meet more amazing coaches like this, check out Fellowship of Christian atheltes website-- my sosns coach and are active in FCA and they have had great men like Coach Jhnson in their lives.

  • applause to this coach! You are a true hero! and way to go Jason!

  • I keep getting shivers

  • which cheerleader took one for the team and gave him the night to remember after the game?

  • I think this was so cool,to see a child experience the joy of fitting it and being able to do the thing that matters to him is amazing, autism or not good stuff

  • This kid is a douche, not really that disabled, and the coaches instructed the other team's players to give him time & space to shoot.

And no I am not "jealous" of his "mad basketball skillz" I don't care about basketball, I care about the truth, and this story is a bunch of bullshit and half-truths.

  • @JonniDDR you might not be jealous but your an idiot i think, just saying!

  • @JonniDDR yes sure and the other teams players would willingly give him space so they could lose! also i'm sure the other team's players also helped guide all those balls into the basket. oh and before i forget jason is actually a pro basketball player and never had autism.

    is that all correct?

  • You Naysayers are true lowlife scumbags...unbelievable. I wanna see any of you make six 3pointers in a row....with no D...all by yourself and you still couldn't do it...

  • Well the problem with this story is that the coach Johnson set the whole thing up to get publicity for himself. The coaches instructed the players to give J-Mac the ball and give him lots of time to shoot and not to defend them. Notice how the camera footage is in fast-forward because they don't want the viewer to see how slow they are moving and how much time J-Mac had to set up each shot.

  • YOU GUYS ARE COMPLETE ASSHOLES? ITS CALLED AUTISMN FOR A FUCKING REASON, HAVE A FUCKING SOUL? THATS WHAT AUTISMN DOES TO YOU, GO READ A FUCKING BOOK & LEARN ABOUT THE CONDITION BEFORE YOU JUDGE.

  • @SMBBALLER4 sorry but your emotions are getting the better of you and make you unable to examine some of the other facts about this story. You also misspelled "autism" while telling others they do not know what "autism" is, that is pretty funny and makes you look like a real tard.

  • YOU GUYS ARE COMPLETE ASSHOLES? ITS CALLED AUTISMN FOR A FUCKING REASON, HAVE A FUCKING SOUL? THATS WHAT AUTISMN DOES TO YOU, GO READ A FUCKING BOOK & LEARN ABOUT THE CONDITION BEFORE YOU JUDGE.

  • Remember the coach of the other team told his players not to defend the j-mac, so he had lots of time to shoot. It is not a real game situation and if there was honest defending there would be no story. This story is a media circus. And the j-mac in real life is a douche, if you don't think so go watch him in action at the Greece Y or Greece Wegmans where he puts cakes on a shelf and talks to himself.

  • gay!

  • this was a kid who shocked everyone with his ability. a kid who was looked over due to his handicap. he made sports fans worldwide rejoice.....

tadwight30... u are a loser. going out of your way to tell people to tell others to dislike this kid. f**k yourself.

  • It is a great story of no matter who you are and what disabilities you may have nothing is impossible!

  • The person posting nasty comments on here about Jason needs to be hunted down like the filthy vermin he is. Lets get busy people!

  • His parents must be so proud of him. God bless them

  • IFknHateUTube u are fucking sick, the kid has atism n u wana break the kids knose, fuck u u piece of shit

  • IFknHateUTube u are fucking sick, the kid has atism n u wana break the kids knose, fuck u u piece of shit

  • @cjjj1216 I want to break his neck. As well as all other autistics. If Jason could get a job stacking garbage, all he would have to do is stack all the autistics as well as him on there, and he could make as much as Tiger Woods.

  • how are the 2 top rated comments on this video a couple of heartless d-bags.

  • ive watched this video many times and every time i still get a little teary eyed. great story.

  • @bwshs sorry to say this but you're about a box of rocks for believing this entire farce at face value.

  • how do you dislike this video...? honestly.

  • I don't know about him, but I would have started freaking out if I were surrounded by so many screaming people, even if I had just scored my team 20 points in four minutes and knew that, for once, people were shouting because they liked me. Even if it's all positive, that's sensory overload waiting to happen.

  • YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE. DIDNT EVEN SPELL HIS LAST NAME FUCKING RIGHT. JASON McELWAIN. FUCK YOU!

  • You guys are such dicks be happy for the kid

  • Look at these angry little trolls, threatening violence, just because some of us point out the facts of this story they don't like. Truth is, this story is a media circus and a bunch of bullshit. First the kid is a douchebag and he's not even really that messed up, the other team was instructed by their coach not to cover this kid, and it really teaches the wrong values. It is better for these kids to do their homework than to waste their teenage years practicing shooting baskets.

  • and further more any time you coward hating punks want to pick on a weaker person, why not just pick on me, because their would be nothing on this earth, that would satisfy me more than to poke my fingers through your eyes, and pull your brains out. I mean I really want to go and find you and beat your head in you make me sick picking on this kid, I hate all you cowards, bashing this kid you have no soul, you have no kind of life to sit around bashing everyone, please go blow ur brains out!!!!

  • Maybe someday some jerk will take a bat to your hater heads, and then you will know what its like to be slow, or maybe your babysitter will drop your kid on its head and then you will know what it means to be retarded and play sports, because nobody wants your retarded kid on the team. This is a beautifull story and you hipocrits just tore my heart from my frickin chest, untill I went and read the other posts, and I realized who cares what any loser that needs to pick on retards thinks

  • @geovs20 the only retard here is you. J-Mac isn't even that messed up, he's just a bit off socially. Do you know what high functioning Asperger's Syndrome is? And look at you threaten violence, like a bully. We have facts and you only have threats of violence. Maybe you should examine your views.

  • @JONNIDDR, do you know what it is like to be a human at all? I mean I feel sorry for your kids and if you call that a high road your walking on let me do you a favor and tell you maybe you should try crawling first, its sad people have to find something bad in every part of life, you hand them something good and the haters will tear it down and pee on it. Its not about the defense letting him take open shots, any idiot can see the other team is nowhere around him, Its about him even being there!

  • The problem with this story, is that it is like a commercial. They want you to believe one thing, when really it is another thing. Jason made those shots because of the lack of defence and effort from the other team. People think that Jason is so great, but ask yourself. Can you make a few jump shots undefended? Especially, when you have spent and wasted years of your life and energy on something that has no true value for American society.

  • @JONNIDDR What is wrong with you the fact he made one shot is awsome and the school loved him look at the crowd, f^%# hater stop being mad at a disabled kid, that probibly accomplished more in life than your sorry hatefull sad punk!

  • @geovs20 again, here is an angry little troll comment with personal attacks and name calling. I will continue to take the high road and point out the other facts the media does not want you to know about this story. J-Mac wasted his entire teenage years shooting baskets instead of doing his homework or learning any manners. Yay, he shot a few baskets undefended. He is still a douche who can't even put cakes on shelves properly at Wegman's. These are facts, and you only have lowly name calling.

  • @JonniDDR Well said

  • @JonniDDR you want a fact? Here's one; you are a jealous douche bag. Sorry that won't get you a story on ESPN but if you keep wasting your time slamming this kid, honing those douche bag skills of yours, I'm sure the Jealous Douche Network will be calling soon.

  • @kejaby sorry, but pointing out facts of a story isn't "slamming" someone, they are facts. My side has facts and your side has childish name-calling. If you need to resort to lowly name calling and even threats of violence like I have seen from many of you, then you lose, and obviously you don't have any good argument, so you resort to lower levels of dialogue (name calling & threats of violence). Maybe you should examine all the facts of the story before commenting.

  • @JonniDDR Your bashing a disabled kid and you want to make it seem like your taking the high road? You say your side has the facts. What your pointing out are opinions. No matter how awesome you think you are, your opinions are not facts. Furthermore, you accuse "my side" of childish name calling. Maybe you forgot that 5 days ago you called a disabled person a douche or just 18 hrs. ago you called him a douchebag? So your not only a jealous douche (my opinion), but your also a hypocrite (fact).

  • Keep in mind that the other team was instructed by their coach not to defend this kid. They laid off of him and gave him time and open shots. In person this kid is really rude and obnoxious. All he did during his childhood was practice shooting baskets instead of learning manners, math, or anything else important. I think this story is very misguided and glorifies the wrong things.

  • Well you know it's good that they wanted J-Mac to feel good about himself, but remember the other team didn't even try to defend this kid, and he wasted his whole childhood and teenage years just practicing shooting a basketball. If you examine the facts this story is just not that extraordinary, and the kid J-Mac is extremely rude in person.

  • What a pretentious jerkoff DURRRHURRR HOT AZ PISSDHOLE. Bitch is lucky I wasn't playing I would have blocked that shit right back into his retard face and sent him home crying with a broken nose.

  • @IFknHateUTube Thank you so much. Finally someone on here who has some sense. The people who like this video don't know why. They're just idiots who want to have one of their own make them feel better. Like my comments on each of his videos if you hate this son of a bitch

  • @tadwight30 Glad I'm not the only one who is sick of hearing about this overrated tardfaced prick.

  • @IFknHateUTube I know right. Well, keep disliking these videos. I just can't believe that making a couple of shots gets you to meet the president. If I got that kind of treatment, I would be going on a special trip to the moon. Just because he has a supposed condition, means he gets special treatment from the media. Jason is an asshole really. He has no job, still living at his parents house, and his personality, I have heard from friends, is nothing you can get along with

  • @tadwight30 and you forgot to mention that your a huge douche.

  • Comment removed

  • @tadwight30 i agree with you, a girl I talked to worked with him at restaurant and she said he is sooooooooo cocky about what he did. he thinks he's a fucking celebrity and is straight up rude about it. mental illness or not, fuck this kid.

  • @tadwight30

well, the president is a retard...so is it that large of a surprise?

  • @tadwight30 you really are a knob aren't you? do you even know what autism is or do you just like to play the victim mentality for shits and giggles? prick!

  • @tadwight30 I will keep praying for people like you.

  • @IFknHateUTube 2 haters, 2 bitches. Fuck you and Tadwight.

  • @IFknHateUTube Well, at least you're one of the people who see through the serious flaws of this story. Good for you.

  • @IFknHateUTube and don't forget that you're a massive douche

  • I will say a prayer for you tonight....you are a sick sick person.

  • @kimbigmix So loving the sport and not betraying the integrity of the game for anything makes me sick? HA! People like you have no principles. You'll betray anything as long as you feel sorry enough for somebody.

You play to win the game. Hello? YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME. You don't play to just play it. Thats the great thing about sports. You play to win. You don't let some kid put 20 points on your ass just cus hes retarded. If he liked the game he woulda wanted someone to try and stop him

  • Again...I will be praying for you. That story wasn't even about winning or losing! DUH! It is not about betrayal, not about calling somebody a 'retard' (have some RESPECT)... and it really isn't even ABOUT basketball. It is about life.

How old are you, might I ask? If you are a teenager, I will give you the benefit of the doubt. Since teenagers are clueless. (I once was one, so I know)

  • And how about you do some research on Autism...knowledge is power......

  • @kimbigmix So your argument is that I only disagree with you because I don't know enough about autism and if I did know enough about autism then I would feel sufficiently sorry for this kid that I would happily betray the very foundation of competitive sports?

  • Conversation is over. you don't get it. Take care....... (and who ever said anything about agreements or disagreements? My original post was that you are a sad sad soul for saying such negative things about a human being (a child for that matter) and a community that rallied behind him........)

  • @IFknHateUTube man, you have to be a sad sack of shit to be talking crap about a kid that everyone else is inspired by. he found one thing that he could focus on, that he loved, that would keep him awash in positive energy, both giving it to his teammates and getting it in return. and then the suiting up and making the shots? it's a great story, and most people that aren't maladjusted like you can see that. you need to look inside and see what makes you hate.

  • @IFknHateUTube ur a dick with no respect for other peoples achievements. What have u done with your life? It obviously inspires enough people to get nearly half a mil hits. And you dont. STFU u jelous shit covered ant. U are such a waste of space and a pathetic cock with no dignity to write shit like that.

  • 533 people couldn't find the dislike button, they were all fucking autistics so hard. You have been reported Flagged. A movie for god's sake?? Bullshit

  • Someone needs to make a movie about this kid.

  • 9 people couldn't find the "Like" button because they were crying too hard.

  • he has a fucking amazing shot. the 3's were going in so cleanly. wet

  • this gave me chills

  • 9 people have no heart

  • lol...Greatest story in NY State!!...Go Jason!!!!

  • J Mac has proven that nothing is impossible, I´m getting his jersey!!!

  • Who would dislike this???

  • The coolest part of this story is the fact that the crowd stood and cheered for him before he even had his hands on the ball. As soon as he got in the game, they went nuts. That, alone, is telling about what kind of support this kid has had and how much he deserved that kind of attention.

  • how is this inspirational? It's just a retard shooting off some 3s unguarded.

  • @barbedwirebat111 Your an ass, man. Fuck you.

  • This guy seems like a fucking arrogant douche. "hurr durrr hot as a pistol i kicked ass im so great" what a self-righteous prick. He's lucky I wasn't playing against him because I would have blocked that shit right back into his retard face and sent him home with a bloody nose.

  • @IFknHateUTube he has autism u insignificant wanker. Get a life.

  • @IFknHateUTube You are probably the biggest douche bag in the world!

  • @IFknHateUTube and you seem like a pussy talking from behind a keyboard.

  • @sintzu101 say that to my face fucker and not online and see what happens

  • @IFknHateUTube I'll laugh after I say it. then you'll try to hit me with some wild right and I take you down and hold you until the cops come and you'll be arrested for assualt. then I'll laugh even more when I hear about your inevitable rape.

  • @sintzu101 well see about that faggot. i work out every fucking day and i wrestled in high school. we'll see who's left standing faggot

  • @IFknHateUTube okay tough guy keep typing. I'll keep laughing at the empty threats.

  • @sintzu101 hahahahaha you so mad

  • @IFknHateUTube wow dude you're fucking delusionally pathetic aren't you? u keep typing out all these empty threats to that sintzu guy saying he's a faggot and that you'll fuck him up, then he says he'll just keep laughing at ur insults and suddenly you say "hahahhahah you so mad" r u fucking mental?

  • so nice to give him a chance, he will be remembered in his communality for ever...

  • wow good story

  • Rain Man was raining 3s that day....

  • I dont understand why people have to downgrade such an inspiring event.

Its amazing, you dont fluke out that many times. If you cant manage to see any good in anything in the world then it doesnt meen you have to downgrade it for everyone else.Absolutely amazing...

  • I love this...listen to the crowd's support...very wonderful!! Jason, you are fantastic!

  • This was a very great story...It's touching to see how things like this make the biggest difference.

  • i'm crying. That was awesome. Great job Jason.

  • I know people that have seen this 3 or 4 times and still get all choked up an cry at the end. I showed this in a class tonight when i was talking about mainstreaming students in high schools and several of them cried.

  • VERY AWESOME AND WONDERFUL VIDEO!! Even those with Autism and Disabilities can make a great and amazing difference in the World and even they can fulfill their dreams and goals as well!!

  • Amazing... why cant there be news like this all the time

  • Dude...That's amazing! A guy like that truely deserves some attention like he's getting.

  • Wow, now that is inspirational...i watched in 3 times in a row.

  • I was hot as a pistol

  • I needed a hanky each time I watched this video....what a great story!!!

  • He deserves it man!

  • Whoopsy... Did I just rack up 20 points in 4 minutes? Lebron didnt even do that in high school. But what can you say, he was hot as a pistol.

  • That guy is awesome!

  • damn the corwd is going crazy.

  • it jus caught fire

I WAS AS HOT AS A PISTOL

  • Oh wow are you ever wrong - What this kid did was nothing short of absolutely AMAZING, this young man is completely terrific....What a great kid.....

  • did they win?

  • ya they did..thats how he got in the game, they were up my so much the coach let him play.

  • that was awsome. did his team win?

  • Yup. The final score was 79-43

  • I first hear this story from my science teacher in 6th grade. She showed me the video because I also have autism. My grandma also showed me this. I became a basketball player in 7th grade because of this story.

  • Comment removed

  • The real hero of this video is the coach that gave a young man the opportunity to display his greatness! We need many more like him in our schools. He encouraged the young man at each step of the way and did not remove him from the game--even after he missed twice! THANK YOU COACH and my prayer is that each child has someone like you to guide them to greatness. In Jesus' name , Amen

  • Why should the coach be a hero? He let the mildly disabled boy play in one game in four years, if the coach was really a good guy who gives people a chance he would let J-Mac play in more than just ONE GAME IN FOUR YEARS!

And they didn't even try to defend J-Mac, the other team was instructed by the coach to let the disabled boy shoot.

  • I see you going from video to video on this kid, finding ways to minimize an achievement that this entire community made. First, the school embraced him as a student, and as a vital, non-playing part of the team. Second, he was given the chance to play, all he ever wanted. Third, the other team showed great decency by not playing hardball. Fourth, the entire crowd - on both sides - was on his side. Fifth, its a positive moment for us all.

So, what is your problem? Your profile offers clues.

  • Amen to that!

  • Well Said! =)

  • could you do it, I have played for years and I cannot hit a shot with fans and players breathing down my neck could you, I can read and bake and have manners but I could not hit 5 threes in a row not even in a High school game, think about it. could you?

  • You are completely missing the point, I could care less about basketball, the story is a farce because they exaggerate the douchebag kid's disability, the other team didn't defend the kid, and he obsessively practiced shooting baskets at the expense of learning manners, literacy, or social skills.

  • I know your problem, you are high intellct child, who was neglected, at school you thought you should get more attention than you got, instead your "atttention" went to athletes there for you dispise sports accomplishments, and besides if you care less about basketball why are you watching this. I have no disability and I cannot do that in a game, IT IS HARDER TO PLAY BASKETBALL IN FRONT OF FANS UNDER PRESSURE THAN IT IS TO READ AND COOK!!!!!!! so you lose shut up and never speak again.

  • Wrong again, I played plenty of sports, just not basketball, and really what good did it do anyone to exaggerate someone's disability and then have them come shoot baskets undefended

  • sometimes its harded to hit open shots than contested, open shots you have to think about it, if someone is on you, you throw it up without thought, you dount have time to think about the miss, so quit trying to destroy a accomplishment you could NEVER do. go out hit 5 threes in a high school game off the bench and then come back and talk.

  • 6 threes sorry.

  • Also another thing you don't realize is this kid is a local douchebag, after this media circus he trotted around town making public appearances, and unless he had a handler nearby he was extremely rude to a lot kids and people who just wanted to say hello to him, and acted as if he was too good for everyone else, so this behavior didn't exactly endear him to the locals.

Yes, before he played, the rest of the kids in his school supported him, but after, he acted like a real douchebag.

  • You're still missing the point, I'm obviously too old to go play high school ball, and the coaches agreed to have the players lay off J-Mac and let him shoot undefended , so it's like playing in the special olympics instead of a real competition, the story is exaggerated, and a half-true media circus.

  • Even if noone guarded Jason, he still had to make all those 3 point shots with a lot of people watching. Even the best BB players would have had great difficulty coming close to matching Jason's 3 point display, guarded or unguarded.

  • "Let he who is without sin among you cast the first stone" - dont need to say who said it

if he had autism, and suddenly he had fame, i would not be surprised that he would be rude to other kids, he likely felt they had been rude to him for years, now he had the power.

but the event actually occurred, he did go on the court in a game for the first time, and was mass supported, to me it was the crowd that was incredible, not really the guy

  • My son has Autism.....it is a disability that you can never understand until it affects one of your loved ones. Your nasty comments show just what kind of a person you really are.....good thing that Jesus will love you even when the rest of the world doesn't. :(

  • whenever I am at odds with the world. whenever I feel there is no hope. whenever I am fighting against the odds and people are against me. I will watch this and dedicate my success to Jmac.

This video was wonderfully executed by the network that aired it and it proves to everyone out there, that there is a higher place we can all get too. If we want it bad enough.

    Go Jmac.

  • Don't EVER underestimate ANY human being! Regardless...

I cried on this one. We should see more stuff like this. This is true GOLD.

  • I cired also..I have a 33 yr old autistic daughter who lives at home..but even if I did not..this is a truly a heartwarming thing to witness and yes..we need to see more of this stuff on the news!!!!!

  • As a professor
