During this, stand in front of it and point a turned on flashlight (or other light source) in the camera's direction.

ok, to do this. Get a camera. Go to the camera's options and look for shutter time. Set it to the highest amount. Point camera at yourself. Now the number you set the time to is how many seconds you have. So get a light, hit the "take picture button", draw whatever you want with your lights, and have fun. :)
