Dude wouldn't it work to give the thighs a double joint the same way that you gave to the knees? Wouldn't that fix your problem with the gap? Oh and dude. That figure would be the the coolest lego built thing I've ever seen if it were the same color scheme you didn't finish in the drawing.

Currently, Dike, is loose on the stud friction hips. But the arms are composed of the brick swivels and plate hinges... I can't explain the parts and that' why I want people to look closely and imagine similar moving pieces.

Back then there was a lot of trail and error on the two modes, he used to be a cybertronian fish looking thing, he took me 3 day about 10 hours to decide how he would finally look like. It really depends on the parts at hand.
