  • Yes- Yes, Man. I want the lid! I live in the U.S. and I.. want.. that.. Lid! It looks like a nice one, is it stainless? Let us know where to get it and how much. Thank You very much.

  • @makkdot1 - it's made of aluminium, was made by a guy on the BCUK forum a few years back, not sure if he makes them any longer, dead easy to make yourself though if you have a sheet of ali and and a hammer?

  • @makkdot1 heavycover inc in the US now makes a stainless steel one for the crusader cup

  • Dude, what was the forum where you got that lid from? Cheers

  • @Slash28ACR - BCUK, not sure if the guy on there is making them any more though

  • @maveraver Thankyou man. For everyone's info, the dude is still making them, I'm going to get myself one in the near future unless I find a specifically made one somewhere else.

  • aaaahhhh the brits....

  • @spartanthree8 - yep, what about them?

  • @maveraver nothing i like the british. i was thinking how much better your guys' canteen system is than ours (US)

  • why is the crasader cup stove "junk"?!

  • @GhillieNova - because it is, even the designer of it admits it's junk

  • Thanks for the video.

I agree about the green heat - it's rubbish for cooking on but makes a half decent fire starter (good with wet wood).

I use Hexamine - boils 0.5 litre (with the lid) in about 5-6 minutes si it burns slightly hotter but for much longer.

I disagree about the cooker. i think it's simple, compact and fits nicely with all the other components. I've used it to boil a litre of water with a billy can in under 30 minutes with 2 hexi tabs.

    All the best.

  • hmmm I find the cooker works great! It does suck with that green heat stuff. But I use mine with esbit, trioxine, the newer US military gel fuel, hexamine and even alcohol. Works especially well with the US gel fuel.

  • From what i have been told even the designer of the Crusader thinks the cooker unit is junk, it is handy for a quick warm drink though and yes Green heat sucks big time

  • Thanks for you honesty & information ;o)

  • i thought that green heat was only a fire starter??

  • nope, can be used to cook over as well, think of it as a liquid hexi block

  • lol i never knew that well you learn every day

  • where can i buy the lid from i use the bcb plastic lid,it does the job but not any good when put into a fire, thanks,

  • I got mine from a group buy on BCUK Bri, they were made by one of the members on there a while ago.

  • thanks,

  • I am trying to get those in stock at the canteenshop, what don't you like about the green heat, I haven't used it?

  • it's like burning a packet of snot and the heat output is about the same, not that ive ever burnt a packet of snot, it's kinda ok in the summer when the ambient temp is high, in the winter time forget it, you wont even get to a simmer, let alone a boil.

The mug & bottle etc are great and nigh on indestructible, the cooker is well, just a piece of poorly designed junk.

  • Rob , i purchased the BCB set about a year ago and other than the cooker is limited because it really doesn't have room for natural fuel (I.E sticks and stuff ) the set is great i have the us set as well and like the BCB the best . also greenheat works fine as long as your not trying to cook to much water at once . And when are you getting the delta gear stoves back in stock ? been waiting for ever now .

  • Nice review 5*

  • Well done Kepis you got a pretty fast boil time!

    5/5
