  • Johnette never had a relationship with Harry. All her best sad songs including Joey were written about Marc Moreland from Wall of Voodoo. He was a mega boozer who died from liver disease several years ago.

  • @6GUNSSOUTH Who are you to choose whats HARD on a person one of her songs was to a good friend who killed them self and one to her sister

  • It's pretty obvius all her love song's are about Harry(The drummer) correct. The way she's hangin on him while pouring out her heart. She is definitely one of a kind

  • Anyone have (anything of quality) of CB/JN/JM/GM/etc. that they are willing to contribute for a brief and private little sharing/trading/singing & paying back and forth.

  • I just listened to this on iTunes, but seeing her sing it... just gave me chills

  • I've said it before and I'll say it again... This is my favorite love song ever, and it's sung by my favorite rockin' role model, Johnette!

  • I had a friend sing this at my wedding just before we signed the register...

  • but really she is the best

  • love this vid!...yepp cb were here in Melbourne last night and sydney the night before - i wne to both! great show..think it was 22 songs amazing always will love this band

  • Love Johnette!~

  • From IRS the Cutting Edge.

  • the band that should'd been

  • was a huge fan of theirs, ever since the video of dance along the edge, which i immediately had to learn on piano (lol). Saw them in Tallahasse and they rocked so great (even if Johnette said "thank you Pensacola", when they finished, lol). Would love to hear them play again. Cant hear good music like theirs on the radio any more, to much style instead of substance these days.

  • love this love rose

  • wow the wow

    hugs xox

  • WOW!!!!! More of this Dave!...Please

    Thanks for the share Ed

  • Amazing loved that big time all the stars wee deborah sha sha xoxo ireland xoxo

  • I love it! *****

  • I know that Johnette has said that Concrete Blond is no longer together, which brakes my fragile heart into a trillion pieces, but I wish she'd reconsider and go on tour. I want nothing more in this world than to see Concrete Blond sing this song live in concert. And I'll be dammed if I'm the only one who feels this way!

  • @lhart99 the just did the bloodletting 20th anniversary tour in the u.s. there headed to aussie land in oct.

  • @arazmataz37

And when they got here they were fucking awesome!!!!! I've loved this band a long time and seen them every time they've toured Australia, it was a killer show and up there with the original Bloodletting tour.

  • very hot!

  • Fucking face-melter vocals

  • Holy Crap, this is brilliant!

  • SHES MY MUSE!!!!!Im a rock singer also and CAN NOT STILL SING HEAL IT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!I LOVE HER!!!!show on June 2010 everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is fantastic!!!

  • Maybe she could get on American Idol.

Simmon would say, " I didn't like it, I didn't like it at all". that's where this world has gone. These guys were great and should have been lifted up higher than they were. Shame on the music industry, those homos.

  • Fantastic. There are no other words.

I liked the 1st LP best myself.

  • saw johnette play solo in annapolis,,,no joke- she hasn't lost anything...honestly you could have taken the mike away , and that voice would still have rocked the place...

  • i love i love c-----blonde

  • Crazy the drummers wearing a Corrosion of Conformity "In the arms of God" t-shirt and that cd's playing in my living room as I watch this in the bedroom! Johnette looks trashed, =( that shit was hard on her.

  • @6GUNSOUTH - That's not in the arms of god t-shirt corrosion has had that logo since the early 80's...that has red eyes, it's probably from the eye for an eye era. Very cool to see that he at least knew who the band was lol.

  • @6GUNSOUTH What shit was hard on her?? Johnette was not a big partier,I no she had her heart broken by Harry the drummer. If you notice at 2:05 Johnette hangs on Harry, and Harry seems to back off ,she puts the hat on him,he takes it off.Because in the 90's Harry left the band "Mexican Moon" I think was recorded without him, then he came back(I think) Does anyone no the exacts on her and Harry" relationship because I even thought there biggest hit "Joey" was written about him???

  • Good call Matt. It is beautiful, flawed and full of emotion. Just like art is supposed to be.

  • Fantastic band and hugely underrated......I would take her wrong and make it right. Love ya J.

  • AWESOME!

  • I would love it if Etta James did a version of this song. That would be magnificent.

  • Is that Mofist at 115 in the back ground

  • i've listen to these guys a long time, i think they had too much talant for normal people. They were a dimond in the rough, for sure.

  • That's how I feel, they have so much talent Johnette Napolitano has such a beautiful voice. I really do wish she'd reconsider putting Concrete Blond back together to record some new material and tour.

  • Johnette!! Brazil loves you, and we know you love it back!!!!

  • This is better than the studio version, It;d be sweet if were available on CD.

  • Johnette,

22 years later I still have that crush. Just wanted to let you know.

  • I agree that the comments made about the band's clothing are idiotic. Don't forget these are artists, they express themselves differently than most. Emotionally they are on a different level as well, more insecure about their looks etc. These insecurities turn into unique song themes and the the rest is history. Don't judge a book by its cover.

  • This video was recorded in 1987. Wasn't everyone dressing like shit back then?

  • Yeah, kinda like little wannabe's with their pants at their knees today. Funny how idiocy repeats itself huh?

  • Wait. People aren't wearing pants at their knees anymore.

It's all about skinny pants and keffiyehs.

  • No, people are still dressing like shit, even shittier with their pants halfway down their asses....

  • I guess it depends on where you live. In the midwest, which is kind of sort of not the hippest place in the US, people rarely wear baggie pants anymore.

And what do you have against black people?

  • Who shat on your brain? Did I mention any black people???

  • subtext

  • I absolutely love this band and this song!!!

  • This is really great!

  • Ah, Johnette... my goddess.

  • Johnette Napolitano is singing her ass off, this is easily my favorite version of a classic song; And you bastards are concerned with what they are wearing? WTF? Watch some old Bowie then report back ...

  • She certainly is an incredible singer and she and the rest of Concrete Blonde are great songwriters and musicians. I was only defending them against sevenquiry and his criticisms. I certainly didn't mean to distract from the fact that they are one the best, most unique, and most under appreciated music groups ever! I'm also a huge fan of Bowie, especially in his Ziggy Stardust days.

  • Well put! She rocks!!

  • oh i think she looks hot in the video , lol ya i'm sure we will be laughing at what we wore now 20 yrs in the future

  • Thank you for this. It's not only a fantastic performance but probably the only copy of it available anywhere. Lucky us that you had your VCR running twenty years ago!

I wish you'd repost it in YouTube's new higher resolution.

  • Every time I get lost in my song writing or think I'm out of touch I can listen to Johnette and it all straightens right out.

    Just write.

  • Hey I'll say it. Today'd Janis.

  • The Lead Singer, Johnette, released a new solo album in 2007 (Scarred) she still touring and going strong.

  • Thanks for posting this. My favorite CB song... great lyrics and great passion in her voice. I saw them perform this at the Whisky in the early 90s as "Dream 6"

  • i fell in love with this song the first time i heard it. and that doesn't happen often. amazing voice.

  • She is doing a few one of shows trying out a new band and some great great *ss kicking music. If you get a chance you should go see her.

  • I think her nose is cute. There is something Mary Poppins about it.

  • I think she's fucking adorable!

  • Damn!!

  • Admit it,sevenguiry, you thought it was cool at the time. I still do. Screw fashion trends. Ten or twenty years from now people will be laughing at how people dress now.

  • WOW...rcd

  • Fuck'n amazing!!!!!!!

  • I love her real Micheal Jackson turn-up nose. I kinda wanted her to moonwalk a little with her hat on.
