  • His blockers are amazing as well

  • @ 2:43 it just looked like a perfect natural fit running into the longhorns end zone. Sick three headed monster at running back now, and o-line is gonna be good. Can't wait to see UT back to the running days. CANT FREAKIN WAIT!!!!! HOOK EM

  • @xBlackeyy. They're not related.

  • "So when can you start?" whispered every Longhorn fan to their computer screen.

  • HOOK EM HORNS!!!!

  • Oh and it's going to be weird having two Malcolm Browns!

  • This is amazing! Glad he committed to Texas! Hopefully him and Brown can give us a great running game this year! As for the 2nd rate aggies, I think I will enjoy watching them suffer in the SEC! HOOK'EM!

  • Nothing but good blocking FOH

  • @44ABALL Stupid comments. There was good blocking but he made a lot of good runs on this video. Go away, Aggy.

  • Get um

  • I wonder if he can break tackles....... I mean here, we watch him for nearly seven minutes of him scoring but.... I don't think he even got touched by one dude the entire video!

  • @darkgoob it doesnt matter if he can break tackles because no one can catch him

  • @darkgoob I counted 58 broken tackles which includes juke moves and spin moves to avoid any contact at all.

  • @PelionHurdles5 breaking a tackle is not the same as avoiding a tackle... ricky williams broke tackles.. reggie bush avoids them

  • Is he related to cyrus gray by any chance?

  • @Gdick1193 his younger brother

  • its impossible to keep this guy from scoring... :O

  • Glad to see Jonathan committing to Texas. Been scouting him since he was a sophomore.

  • Check out Joaquin Ross C/O 2013

  • i got bored so i watched a vid of trey williams...gig em bitchez

  • @aggiewhoop1 Trey is going to carried out on a stretcher when you faggies get your asses "whooped" in the SEC. HOOK EM HORNS BITCH!

  • @aggiewhoop1

Trey Williams sucks. Just saw a couple of his vids... No comparision to J gray

  • @MrGavster2004 Longhorn fan here. I love J.Gray but for you to say Williams sucks is idiotic. They are both great backs and will do well in College.

  • Did his parents really have to add the extra "h" in his name?

  • @EveryNameIsTakenFFS2 they are black of course they did

  • wait, He had 50 tds his sophmore year. 65 td his senior year what is wrong with this kid

  • @jjjjeklellele I'm guessing you missed the under armour game?

  • johnathan gray is the truth

  • Would of liked to see him play at a higher level of competition.

  • @jjjjeklellele you will next year at Texas. hah

  • @jjjjeklellele you'll be able soon as he goes to a ncaa school, then pro.

  • No he is a great back with still more time to develop into a true athletic machine. Underestimate. Fact is I have seen him play many times. He is a spectacular athlete. Has the potential to do some damage in college ball. Give him a chance.

  • how do you pull the playside tackle and still score, he plays no competition...

  • Comment removed

  • @hofftraining true, true, that was bad football IQ by me, but im 14 so calm your little youtube shit down, and hell yea i could have ran for 80,000 yrds with the blocking he gets, but i could play runningback, but its saftey all day look up robenson therezie

  • @malex305 im not 14*

  • Any chance he'll change his mind and come to LSU? man this kid is great!

  • I believe he's great but I have to say I think that dekaney's running back is better and has more potential. Any body else think so?

  • Can't wait to see this guy play for Texas next year:)

  • The blocking is great, he has great speed- but anyone who says that he is not exceptional is not following high school football records. Great blocking sometimes comes from great backs setting up the block. He has not played a down of college ball- what he does at that level remains to be seen, but in high school he was all that.

  • ut \m/

  • Anybody that down plays this kids achievements doesn't understand the level of competition of 4A football in Texas.

  • Don't hate just appreciate.

  • TO ALL OF YOU HATERS: You are just jealous he is a three-peat state champion. Without a team a running back is nothing. Not to mention all of the records he has broken; including nationwide. Yall are just mad he is going somewhere in life.

  • GREAT blocking+GREAT speed= this highlight hes nothing special and had no moves boring ass video ive seen waaaaay better

  • great blocking+horrible tackling+really GOOD back=this highlight. he's a really GOOD back, not great.

  • welcome to UT

  • I like how EVERY run is for a touchdown until the 6 minute mark.

  • Number 1 in the nation not bad

  • STATE FINAL:Aledo 49 Manvel 28 Gray:break national record for touchdowns rushing

  • D1 scholarships everywhere for him.

  • not to down play him cuz yeah hes helluh fast but his blocking is amazing

  • Its like playing madden with adrian peterson on rookie

  • Shouldn't his touchdown been waved off for unsportsmanlike conduct for taunting (raising clenched fist) before he got into the end zone at 1:25?

  • @DiscoTony, I hope you're joking because otherwise that's a really stupid question to which the answer would be of course not.

  • @jdlund @jdlund Sir or ma'am, I was making a reference to the Boston high school football player whose TD was nullified for doing exactly the same thing. I know they are in different states, but the question was more rhetorical than literal, spankwad.

  • @DiscoTony, you obviously don't know what "rhetorical question" means, but leaving that aside it was still a stupid question. There is no rule in Texas like the one in Mass that was the basis of the call you are referring to, so what happened at the Mass state championship is irrelevant.

Besides, the refs call at the Mass State Championship was widely panned and was clearly a bad call.

  • or its non of the above you mentioned...im a buckeye fan...let me guess sam mcguffie had all of that went to scUM and had to transfer cause he wasnt shit...i respect hes good but i think as of right now till i see him play college ball hes over rated...see i said hes good and i respect that but hes not great

  • Damn this makes me nervous! Manvel better have a tight defense on saturday!

  • He has good vision

  • "The Most Colorful Show on Turf" you ask??

Well that would the likes of "Brown - Ash - Gray Dressed in Burnt Orange"!!

Oh and a very ironic connection.. the color of Ash's definition:

    Ash-colored

Ash"-col`ored\, a. Of the color of ashes; a whitish gray or brownish gray.

  • na this dude aint all that !!! Give me the WR's an lineman over the RB anyweek !! that blocking is what did it all

  • Man I could average 8 yards per carry with that blocking.

  • @RaiderRed64 You couldn't average 8 ypc if the entire Defense became paralyzed from the neck down so GTFO!

  • Great looking runner, but he doesn't have the speed or cutting ability of Keith Marshall.

  • There was excellant blocking, but this kid looks like he knew, and even anticipated where they were going to be. He is a disciplined runner, hits the corner with speed, runs through arm tackles, and when he gets out in the open, he's gone.

  • 50 touchdowns in a season, 8 in a State Championship game doesn't impress you? Man, you are really strict!

  • Cameron washinton !

  • he might be national player of the yr man but anyone could be player of the yr if thy got holes and a line like that...and the players running after him look like thy run 4.5's lol...another sam mcguffie lol

  • @str8upballer07 Dude, you don't become national player of the without being good. This guy is so much better than sam mcguffie (who was ranked 9th best running back in the nation) it's ridiculous. This is his sophomore year, if you forgot. He's only gotten better.

Texas will have a veteran line next year and will be able to run him with Malcolm Brown and Joe Bergeron. This kid's gonna be nasty. Bet on it.

  • @str8upballer07 You don't notice the vision, the uncanny knack for the endzone, the ability to cutback on a dime, the strength, etc.?? If you don't, then you my friend are one of 3 things.

    1) OkeyPokey fan

    2) A&"Let'sGigEmTheHellOutOfTheBigXIIBeforeUTbeginsTheirColored(Brown & Gray)Era"M fan

    3) VERY limited knowledge of what it takes to be a successful RB in the College and NFL ranks

    4) A UT Hater

    5) (and probably my guess) A combination of both

    HOOK EM!

  • gatorade national player of the year, holds the texas career rushing touchdown record, he's on track to break the national points record and if it wasn't for his ejection for high stepping he would be on track to break the national rushing yards record. This guy can start at any university

  • okay his highlight tape aint that impressive...ive scene way better highlights that actually took talent to get them long runs...look up jammal berry and he aint even a starter at osu

  • Comment removed

  • oh my god... his line is so god damn amazing

  • Especially like the clips from DKR...I can get used to seeing that!

  • wtf is that block by the lineman right in front of him at :44 ? he just dove and grabbed the defenders legs haha

  • Joe Sadler is better.... just sayin

  • @PHELONY187 Gray is crazy good tho, Glad he will be wearing burnt orange.

  • Wish he'd go to Texas tech!

  • 2:47 I can't stand it when PA announcers think it's their job to do a play-by-play. Drives me NUTS!

  • haha texas what a joke

  • @mbbeast13 Let me guess your just jealous you dont got THE top ranked recruiting class or THE top running back johnathan gray so shut up and go run your mouth somewhere else

  • This kid is gonna be raw at Texas!

  • Hey give his O-line credit they open up big holes every time he gets the ball

  • So this was his sophomore season??? Holy shit! This guy will play on Sundays.

  • I GO TO ALEDO

  • Why doesn't he go to oregon?

He reminds me a lot of LaMicheal James. Runs a lot from the Shotgun too.

  • @ILive4saturdays Texas runs the spread

  • @ArikaANDTaylor not anymore.....

  • @ILive4saturdays yea texas could have got Lamichael too but missed out :/....he sure does look like a good fit for oregon but I'm glad i'll see him with malcolm brown and joe bergeron in the backfield next year but that seems like too much talent at the position haha

  • @Mozo901 I feel like he can take the position from everyone.... like Joe McKnight did when he went into a talent loaded RB corps at USC

  • Congratulations long horns!

  • 4:08 Holy shit look at that O-line wall. Damn those kids better be going to the next level.

  • This dude is beast! Kinda reminds me of AP the way he runs, cant wait to see him in college!

  • he had good blocking too

  • Wow he got tackled 3 times through 6 minutes of touchdowns haha! He's the truth

  • Damn we play johnathan gray and aledo this week. :/

  • the only highight tape ive ever seen where its 5 straight minutes of touchdowns...kids insane

  • Comment removed

  • I'm watching this guy too lol

  • im watching him play right now

  • I played against him when they won their first state championship. Got to say it was a heartbreaking loss in the state finals, but the boys a hoss. He took us for 252 yards and 4 tds (His four tds from this game were all at UTs stadium so yall can find those runs)

  • 2:34 amazing!

  • I got two things to say, one their stadium is college level and their only in highskool. at my sskool we have a dirt patch thats something green. second he also has a reallly good line, giving him aweasome holes

  • @liamprum ive played at their stadium not really college level...

  • @iboltsmytres its still nice

  • He's in my school's division, he scores like 4-7 TD's a game its insane

  • Seemed like every time he touched the ball 6 points #damn

  • I like the highlight where he scores the touchdown lol

Texas is going to go from burnt orange and white to Gray and Brown lol...thunder and lightning!! Hook'Em

  • I can't wait to see both Gray and Brown in the same backfield next year at Texas. They may help them improve to a better record then this year since they have a loss of two games already.

  • Hook'em

  • cool i heard from a friend of jonathans father he said that jonathon gray goin to them Texas Longhorns how awsome!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • his ability to make people miss is incredible he looks like Barry Sanders and OJ Simpson rolled into one. i also read on si.com about his off the field work with a leukemia patient and he also can be a Tim Tebow type in the locker room shit Texas hit the jackpot!

  • this is outstanding!

  • Brown and Gray all day.

  • @austinbfmv Now Bergeron too!

  • @ZwienerZ The Longhorns probably have one of the most extensive rushing offenses in the country.

  • @austinbfmv Look out for the "Colorful Show" (Brown & Gray) coming to a University near you!!

    HOOK 'EM!!

  • @austinbfmv Brown + Gray+ Bergeron OH LAWD

  • MASSIVE hold at 4:16 on the d-end.

  • TELL HIM TO COME TO SOUTH CAROLINA GAME COCKS

  • Dangg shoulda gone to Texas A&M

  • im amazingly impressed by this kid. the thing that really puts him apart is the speed, the angles that he takes AND, most importantly, how he avoids tacklers all together using his ability. he is much less likely to get injured. i think a lot of young kids, being talented, force hits to tacklers rather than trying to just avoid them. he is extremely mature. he doesnt have to be a bruiser to be great, he just has to score and he realizes this. a lot of young kids with talent dont...hook em horns!

  • Gray is good, but his blocking is unmatched, and those linebackers cannot tackle in open space

  • He does have AMAZING blocking, but this dude is just straight disrespectful lol

  • malcolm brown and gray are the next mark ingram and trent richardson except better

  • They love their Screen Passes hahahahahahaha

  • 2 words, great blocking.

  • this video will be 50 times more popular when he becomes a pro

  • I heard Brown will sit out next year, so he and Gray can play together for three straight years. Gray will carry the team in 2012, but from there on it will be Brown and Gray running wild for Texas. This is just a suggestion by someone, but maybe it could happen.

  • Brown and Gray in the same backfield for the Longhorns will be the best ever for any college.

  • @gn3ranger cant beat ingram and richardson

  • Hell yea this Guy is legit. Can't wait till he starts with UT..

  • haha love all the away fan videos "ohhh shit there he goes"

  • 50000 times better than keith marshall.. espn trippin! brown/gray = national championship REAL SOON! HOOK 'EM!

  • You know those crazy Reggie Bush / Noel Devine highlights from way back in the day? This meets, if not exceeds, any of those.

  • Brown, Bergeron, Monroe and Gray in the same backfield. No way unless one of them becomes a quarterback and they use the wishbone attack.

  • I can't wait, so I hope he doesn't change his mind. Texas is going to have a good year this year and Gray will help them to continue to improve next year.

  • You guys talking about tackling? What film were you watching? He never even gets touched by a defensive player in 95% of those runs! Give props to the Aledo offensive lineman too, he's running through mammoth holes. That being said, his speed and vision are unbelievable. I saw him play in person at Cowboys stadium last year vs LaMarque in the state championship game and just like this highlight film, he's a man among boys out there. He would dominate in 5A too. He's the real deal. Again, you gu

  • 7 people have obviously played him.

and a 50-7 win doesnt sound like you whooped up on them much. im just throwin that out there.

  • aledo may be back to back state champs but the kangaroos are gonna whoop their butts tonight

  • he also has amazing blocking

  • You don't score 8 TDs and 325 yards in the Texas 4A state championship game as a junior without serious talent. These guys aren't bad tacklers. He's that good.

  • @leaveyouinastretcher. Your right man, texas football is big and the teams he is playin against aren't poor tacklers, he is just that good

  • His vision is the most impressive ability.

  • Brown and Gray ...... Ingram and Richardson version of Texas. Hook'em!

  • @charruas10 hhahah thats what i said!

  • Nice tackling.

  • You know how I know this kid is special?

    1. It took 5 minutes and 50 seconds of highlight for him to get tackled.

    2. He makes it look EASY

  • sophomore HIGHLIGHTS this means he was 15 going on 16 doing this to seniors and juniors , jesus christ .

  • I also scrimmage him Friday... Guyer vs aledo baby

  • Jmenz your a dousche him and his bro are some of the best amatuer rb anyone has ever seen

  • All the credit is being givin to this mediocre back for his production. Truth is, he has a GREAT offensive line and great blocking wide recievers. If it weren't for them, he woulda just been another running back in a world full of em. The blocking is so good, and the holes so big that Oprah could run through them. Not to mention all the terrible tackling thats going on. Trust me fella's, this guy is gonna be a bust in the NCAA.

  • @TheJMenz

Did you not see any of the broken tackles?? The sudden changes of direction?? These things display is power, agility, and vision. You're an idiot.

  • @mitts281 I believe i made a note to the fact that there is TERRIBLE tackling going on. No good form, no wrapping up. I see alot of arms being stuck out, and lets face it, my 5 year old brother can run through someones outstretched arm. The only skill i see in this guy is SOME footspeed, ill admit when he does get out into the open and gets those legs churning, no ones gonna catch him. As for the "sudden change of direction" and the displays of power and agility? I've seen better. way better.

  • @TheJMenz did you ever think that the poor tackling has something to do with johnathan gray's speed? you try tackling the best running back in the country in open field. if you honestly think that he's not good you are a moron. that's why you aren't getting paid to evaluate recruits and rivals.com is. He makes everything look effortless against 4A competition in texas. so do us all a favor and please shut your mouth.

  • @TheJMenz

TheJMenz is J. Gray's backup at Aledo, no doubt.

  • am i the only one who thinks that hes not going hard

hes obviously way ahead of the competition

  • Great highlights! Add your video to highlightlinksdotcom now to get more exposure.

  • its like playing madden with adrian peterson on rookie mode

  • Malcolm Brown is the all-purpose (strength, speed, vision etc.) back that could very easily be a star. Jonathan Gray seems to have great vision and speed, but lacks a little in size from what I can see, but doesn't really do anything jaw-dropping like Brown. They're different backs, so we'll see

  • All i can say is wow to that talent. Johnathan come play in the SEC at South Carolina. It is great and getting better to be a gamecock!!! cant wait for the season.

  • 59 touchdowns is it true?

  • @centexhuntclub remember this is high school football..... definitely true.

  • Azle beating Aledo would be a change of pace.....it has happened so few times. Always nice to be hopeful though.
