Is that the "paint" used to make the guitar shine after painting? how do you do to sand the guitar so well that after the "shining step" you don't notice the "pores" of the wood, and the fiber of the wood?
Tucumalo - The colour paint is covered with Lacquer. It is the lacquer that is sanded down using fine sanding papers 800-1500 grits, and then I used the safe-cut compound which is like a paste but this also has an abrasive effect, but it is so fine that it brings the lacquer to a polish. You can get this in different grades too, but I only used one. Ronaldsmusicfactory (see Ron's comment above) has a good video on wetsanding. Also Jullysix has a good video on final polishing. Hope this helps.
It's a Ford auto colour - 'Arizona Gold'. It looked more Bronze-like on the can - much like the Fender colour they issued in the 90's. With the Rosewood Neck and the Tortoise pick guard I think it will look quite classy, but you are right, it is more of a Brown-Gold.
