  • hey dude< need help putting a trunk on mine< so far they say I cant do it but you have one please help me<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< you can get me on yahoo im at unit10

  • thanks now ima go n try it now... next time take the stupid song off and talk!

  • Don't you also have the locks under the rear seat that the newer bikes have?

  • Geez I have struggled with this, thanks for the help! I love my solar yellow 2007 EX 500! What a great bike!!

  • How do you not burn the shit out yourself when you reach behind the exhaust to lock it in?

  • fags

  • thanks for this - have been struggling to figure this out for a couple of months now

  • What trunk do you have on that bike?

  • thanks this helped a lot i went do it right away and it was easy, the pipes touch the helmet but i dont think it will mess anything up

  • I usually just carry mine. It doesn't bother me at all, and if some jackhole sees the helmet on my ninja, it's just more of an incentive to screw with it. Even if they can't get it off, I don't want somebody kicking her over.

Call me paranoid. Go ahead. I don't mind. :)

  • thanks but it does not quite work on my 2007 becasue the exhust is bigger. The helmet strap will not physically get close enough.

  • Thanks. It took me three tries to get it the first time, but now that I've done it three more times in a row, I feel a little better about locking up on the road. And I managed to get the helmet to not touch the exhaust, even!

  • Thanks for sharing.

Would've liked to hear the pipes!

  • nice. Thanks alot. love the music too.

  • Is the helmet touching the exhaust?

  • Nah, you put the passenger foot pegs down and the helmet sits on them... I actually stash my gloves in the helmet and close the visor.

  • This bad quality for anyone else?

  • surprisingly, i think this is the first time Johnny B. Goode has ever been used in a youtube video lol

  • I run a small wrench through the D-loop of my helmet, then lock the round end of it into the helmet lock.

  • do they come stock on every ninja?

  • You are the man! I burned myself a few times and had just about given up on it...

  • son-of-a-bitch!!!! I have been trying for four years!!! Tank you very much for posting this video!!!

  • God damn man... this is so mind numbingly stupidly simple that I can't believe I didn't think of it (resting the whole helmet on the footpeg on the right side of the bike).

  • That is what i always wonder because i figured that the exhaust would ruin the helmet... That is why I never locked my helmet when i had this bike...

  • yeah that's all good untill you've been riding for about 2 and a half hours and the heat from your exhaust fucks up the design on your $250 scorpion helmet. I just bought a combo luggage lock and lock it to my grab bar now

  • I use the passenger pegs to keep the helmet off the exhaust.

  • double sick, i was about to buy a helmet lock

  • sick, i'll try that on my ninja 250

  • noss? did you mean NOS? you have a nitrous oxide system on your bike? and a twin turbo? first off i would LOVE to see pictures to prove it and if you aren't full of shit then maybe you should spend more time reading a damn dictionary instead of working on your bike. shit. and while you're at it try growing a penis instead of attempting to make up for what you're lacking genetically. bitch.

  • Thanks, I couldn't have figured this out myself!

  • and then you go back to your bike and your helmet is all melted on front? :)

I rather take my helmet with me though.

Let me tell you some stories.

A chick checks out a guy at the store with a fuzzy hair. "He looks homeless and ugly."

A chick checks out a guy at the store with a helmet next to him.. "that guy is HOT."

  • That's why the hat was an awesome invention for bikers. lol

  • You got something against hewmut hurrr? :-P

  • hi, good vid. This is the trickiest bike to lock a helmet too. What kink of exhuast do you have? that looks dope!

  • lol it says in the title, but agreed, the video is very helpful, i couldnt lock my helmet to my 50 now i know how ;)

  • thanks for the info it helped me with my new 500r

  • if you think your bike is so much better than a ninja why are you looking at all the ninja videos posted on the internet?

My friend has a cbr600 too and it really didnt seem much faster and the rear passenger seat sucks, the passenger is leaning on you banging their head against yours and they have to reach over further and they sit on a little tiny pad. so WTF?? I guess hondas arn't worth shit cus they have a bad seat?

  • first time I tried to use that helmet lock I burned my hand, so I either just strap it to the rear grab bar or just carry it with me. I was thinking of getting a lock and just lock it to the rear grab bar.

  • Haha, you have no idea what you are talking about! Your CBR600 won't 'pwnt' anything, except you when you crash it into a cement wall you loser!

  • good video by the way Ethio. I always wondered if the lock worked.

  • "Haha, you have no idea what you are talking about! Your CBR600 won't 'pwnt' anything, except you when you crash it into a cement wall you loser! "

    +1 hahahaha

  • The best solution is to get a lock that bolts to the end of your handlebar. I have one on my bike and it works fine.

  • Yeah problem is if the pipes are real hot youl burn your hands and your helmet in the process, I actually cant beleive kawasaki hasnt changed this yet.

  • Get a set of extenders for the helmet rings ($5) and extend the rear footrest to set the helmet on. Quick, easy, and no touching the exhaust.

  • BTW, what the frig is "Noss"???

Nitrous would be correct and "NOS would just be lazy, but NOSS????

Your intelligence must be measured in negative integers.

  • Foldcusion, you're SO right. It makes so much sense to buy a whole different bike because you don't like the friggin helmet lock. We all know how important that component is for the performance and longevity of a bike. I'd LOVE to hear the conversation between you and a salesman. "Nope, it redlines on an odd number. Everyone knows the engine will blow up easier if it redlines on an odd number". The rest of us will ride, you just sit there and play with your new lock...and yourself.

  • I have the ninja 250, and my helmet melts on the hot exhaust. Any tips?

  • shut the hell up

  • I have the bike and I know how bad the ergonomics of the helmet locks are...It just goes to show you that when an instruction video is posted to the masses...something is wrong. The locks work, but you must admit they are poorly placed. You have after market exhaust which might make it easier. I however have a problem sticking it on my scalding hot exhaust. Love the bike though

  • I partly agree but mainly disagree: they're somewhat poorly placed purposely. We'll see if Kawi changes those location in the third generation of these bikes.

  • @EthioDude They're the same on my '89 GPZ500S. They're pretty much the same bike and I only tend to use the left side lock due to the position. Dont want my skid lid sticking to the pipe

  • Thanks!!!!!!! This drove me nuts!!!

  • Can't believe it!! Bought a new 500 in '04 and this lock has drove me nuts! After 4 yrs and being competely fustrated i just gave up. Now i don't have walk around w/ my helmet every time i wanna stop. THANKS VERY MUCH!!!

  • I wonder if this'll still work with my Ninja 250. I never really tried because of how the hot exhaust might fuze the helmet to it.

  • Nah, it shouldn't touch the exhaust. Just extend the passenger pegs to rest the helmet there.

  • THANK YOU!! its like 10 at night, but im still gonna go try it rite now!!
