I dont understand the story at all because I cant find Drakengard(1) on store, I only played Drakengard 2, never the less, this game is cool, the story line(even if I dunno the Begginning) the characters and, THE DRAGONS XD

@Komyeta Personally I like the first Drakengard much better, the first game was about the war between the Union & the Empire, the Empire wanted to break the seals in the world and release evil eventually Caim and his Dragon Angelus had the duty to stop them since Caim's sister "Furiae" had a seal herself, after a long journey they failed and all the seals were broken BUT there was still hope after defeating Manah, Angelus became the new seal. (Manah was being controlled by the watchers)

@Kkyyrruu the Drakengard games are underrated gems, when the games came out I didn't know about them till last year because the people at Square Enix lacked publishing and advertising.. there's good examples of other underrated gems that did not sell when they came out like Sony's "Ico" or Ubisoft's "Beyond Good & Evil" if you like games with Dragons you should buy Drakengard 1 & 2 although my favorite is the first one

@behapy666 Drakengard 2's story only follows Ending A. The other endings are simply "what if" scenarios, although NIER continues its story after the last ending in Drakengard 1 :p

I got this from a shop in town (didn't know it was the second on so I haven't played the first) but I was really really shocked when I found out that Square Enix (the producers of the Final Fantasy games that weren't that good) made this XD I get it even without playing the first game so it isn't really a problem

Great game, if they ever make another for the new consoles id recomend more rpg elements, like a world with towns a cities where you can enteract and talk to people and do sub quest. Also player customization like armor and as the dragon grows u can choose how the body, horns, tail ect are shaped. The main thing is to make a world that seems alive. the only game i trully liked that the word seemed dead was Shadow of the colossus and thats cause it was supposed to seem like a purgatory or limbo.

Manah has been freed from her madness since her journey with Caim at the end of the first game. Nowe, the main character, is a knight who's suppose to protect the seal. Manah convinces him the seal is evil and they want to free the people from the knights and the seal. So it's not about good or evil, it's about perspective.

@Cloudboredforlife Caim was never really a good character. The whole point of the first game is that there's really no -real- hero in the sense that they're pure and righteous. Each character has their vices, has commited their sins, and are either on a path of penance or on their way towards destruction. In the case for Caim, he was evil as fuck as filled with revenge that never really got satiated.

Spoilers for Drakengard 2, in case you didn't know...

Inuart takes Furiae's body to one of the Seeds of Resurrection and enters it with her corpse. The Seed, a tool of evolution, causes them to combine and evolve. Legna, Inuart's pact dragon, puts some of his blood in as well. This is what creates Nowe.

Yeah, that's right, Nowe is a fusion of Inuart, Furiae and dragons' blood. He's not their son, or anything like that -- these individual elements literally combined and evolved to create a "New Breed." :D

@Thryhring technically legna can't be inuarts pact partner due to the fact that inuart dies and the rules of a pact state that both partners share their lifes (therefore when he dies the black dragon should have too)

I had high hopes for this game (what with it being Sqaure Enix, but Square Enix have lost their touch since the merger) and had really hoped there was some decent sandbox elements or perhaps even MOVING character models during cutscenes...To wish and not receive.

It's an ok game, gets pretty boring after a while and reminds me too much of Dynasty Warriors. The story is good but I just wish there was more to it than hacking and slashing.
