I have been getting this a lot. However, in my killcam death, it just doesn't show me shooting/doing anything harmful to the enemy. I'm using a PC though and average about 140 ping per game. Rarely, I will ever get 100 ping. =(
@navrozlal Yup I play on pc, when I play blops and get on a dedicated server I get a ping of 28, when I play mw3 I get 1-3 bars. I guess I'm in the bad side of lag compensation spectrum.

The lag compensation in this game is killing me! I'm shooting at guys directly on them, just as woody does, and they kill me! I look at the killcam, and supposedly, I was shooting to the right/left of them! It's total bullshit, I still do well on the game, going slightly postive (like 28/24 or so) but it still bothers the shit out of me because I know I could be doing so much better if it wasn't for Infinity Ward's efforts to make this game more "fair".
It wasn't lag woody it was the invinciblity glitch. You know it is because his screen was red the whole time in the killcam and he took no extra damage. At the very last clip you can see that you and your team mate clearly shot him and in the killcam we can see that he should have been one bullet of dying so it shows he was doing the glitch .
Whats,sad is I have the solution to lag comp only problem is it csn be used to exploit the network code ex user can set info sent to a level that makes the game fair or be a douchebag and set it to a level where u can be shot multiple times and bullet would'nt register I hope IW fixes this b4 the cheating portion of our community discovers

Great video but the clips showed were irrelevant to lag compensation. The guy who killed Woody was a dirty glitches and he did the invincibility glitch. This was not lag compensation.

Lag Compensation: Infinity Wards cheap way to save money instead of bringing out Dedicated servers or servers for each country / nation. If everyone from the same country was in one lobby together then the ping is generally lower(everyone stays close) but then say a UK host with Spanish players. The lag comp comes in and trys to balance it out for the player with highest ping (Spanish player) so in result everyone suffers. It's pathetic and we dont NEED to merge with foreign players at all.
Hate that intro music. Of course, I'm old and loud music annoys me anyway! :P BF3 on PC has the same issue. DICE gave us a network slider and if you have it in the wrong position you won't get a single hit on anyone. It's annoying to have to manually tweak it on every single server I join. I prefer auto compensation in theory, but the manual way works when you know how to use it. Be nice if COD players (especially on consoles) could get the same option.

I play on Verizon hot spot and get absolutely thrashed by connection. All if these montages you see on YouTube are on the good side of the connection. I never get the kind of kills they get. I dump whole clips into people and they just smile:), watch the kill cam and never even brought my gun up! Agh!

I agree it seems to have gotten worse, there was a period where it was ok a while ago, but now its back to being terrible, and the proof is in the amount of host migrations. About 8/10 of my games there is a host migration, why? beacause people know they are being screwed by the lag comp and leave, it's pretty obvious now you are host or lag comped, I quit out too. Why should I stay just for the benefit of others to only just get screwed continually.

By watching the footage from this video I have to concur that it is in fact a glitch that is commonly abused that prevents the user from taking damage. When the user's screen remains bloody and red throughout the entire kill cam, it is safe to say a glitch is being employed.
I actually think the latest patch has "toned-down" the lag compensation. My game (with a good internet connection) has improved dramatically and I feel like I'm actually in the game (and not a second behind everyone else). I agree with the other comments that IW should just get rid of lag compensation altogether.

It seems to me that IW wouldn't even need to perfect a lag compensation system or supply dedicated servers if they would just place people with similar connections in the same lobby. Of course there would be people who would abuse this system and artificially increase their ping to get in a lobby full of slow connections but they could be kicked. This seems to be a good middle ground between gamers' wants and IW not wanting to supply dedicated servers because they are greedy.

Lag compensation is a horrible idea. If I pay for a good connection then I should be able to play on it. I've been very close to multiple moabs and almost a double moab and died by lag compensation. Lag compensation has also saved me plenty of times but I wish I was still taken out.
@Doubledumbledoor why not just pay for dedicated servers? its not like activision makes millions of dollars or anything. even people with a good connection get shit luck when it comes to call of duty....its always been that way.

lag comp was never a good idea. people with good internet shouldnt be punished for having good internet. I pay more so that I can have an advantage, thats the whole damn point. every patch has made lag comp worse for me, thats why I cant take this game seriously. I feel like I'm a half second behind every match in every lobby from ever host. and im never host. i have 5 days played...

This has been happening to me more frequently as well Woody. On my screen i obviously would of won the fight but on his screen i didnt get a shot off. connections are worse then even from my experience.

This is the shit that sends me into a ballistic rage while playing this game. I get BS 'd exactly like his slo-mo, except It will happen 8 times in a row. My KD thanks to MW3 and how much of a piece of shit it is due to connection issues and lag comp is now a laughable 1.45-1.5. I get punished by being sent a bunch of lag to try and "Even out the connections" which in turn makes the game near unplayable for me, and rage inducing as all hell. Sledgehammer games in my opinion can suck a fat dick.
@mrfamas5. I pay a lot for my high speed and the game shows I have full bars, but this whole trying to make it equal for everyone is causing me to always be lagging. My bullets don't register, I'm running in directions I wasn't heading all of a sudden. So I'm being punished for having a good connection
@Pupster64 You do realize that a lot of the people have the same internet provider and pay the same amount of money, but live in an area where their signal isn't as good. And absolutely not, just because you spend more money it doesn't mean you should have an advantage over 60% of the online community. Like I said, if you can't play on connection on par with everyone elses then you are a bad player, anyone can play on a good connection while everyone else is 2-3 baring the whole game.
I had the exact same problem before, but i have a better internet connection now so it's kinda better, however it still happens 6/10 times i play, i don't consider myself a bad player, but this is the reason my kdr isn't higher.

Lag Compensation: Infinity Wards cheap way to save money instead of bringing out Dedicated servers or servers for each country / nation. If everyone from the same country was in one lobby together then the ping is generally lower(everyone stays close) but then say a UK host with Spanish players. The lag comp comes in and trys to balance it out for the player with highest ping (Spanish player) so in result everyone suffers. It's pathetic and we dont NEED to merge with foreign players at all.

Hate that intro music. Of course, I'm old and loud music annoys me anyway! :P BF3 on PC has the same issue. DICE gave us a network slider and if you have it in the wrong position you won't get a single hit on anyone. It's annoying to have to manually tweak it on every single server I join. I prefer auto compensation in theory, but the manual way works when you know how to use it. Be nice if COD players (especially on consoles) could get the same option.

I play on Verizon hot spot and get absolutely thrashed by connection. All if these montages you see on YouTube are on the good side of the connection. I never get the kind of kills they get. I dump whole clips into people and they just smile:), watch the kill cam and never even brought my gun up! Agh!

I agree it seems to have gotten worse, there was a period where it was ok a while ago, but now its back to being terrible, and the proof is in the amount of host migrations. About 8/10 of my games there is a host migration, why? beacause people know they are being screwed by the lag comp and leave, it's pretty obvious now you are host or lag comped, I quit out too. Why should I stay just for the benefit of others to only just get screwed continually.

By watching the footage from this video I have to concur that it is in fact a glitch that is commonly abused that prevents the user from taking damage. When the user's screen remains bloody and red throughout the entire kill cam, it is safe to say a glitch is being employed.

I actually think the latest patch has "toned-down" the lag compensation. My game (with a good internet connection) has improved dramatically and I feel like I'm actually in the game (and not a second behind everyone else). I agree with the other comments that IW should just get rid of lag compensation altogether.

It seems to me that IW wouldn't even need to perfect a lag compensation system or supply dedicated servers if they would just place people with similar connections in the same lobby. Of course there would be people who would abuse this system and artificially increase their ping to get in a lobby full of slow connections but they could be kicked. This seems to be a good middle ground between gamers' wants and IW not wanting to supply dedicated servers because they are greedy.

Lag compensation is a horrible idea. If I pay for a good connection then I should be able to play on it. I've been very close to multiple moabs and almost a double moab and died by lag compensation. Lag compensation has also saved me plenty of times but I wish I was still taken out.

I pay more so that I can have an advantage, thats the whole damn point. every patch has made lag comp worse for me, thats why I cant take this game seriously. I feel like I'm a half second behind every match in every lobby from ever host. and im never host. i have 5 days played...

This is the shit that sends me into a ballistic rage while playing this game. I get BS 'd exactly like his slo-mo, except It will happen 8 times in a row. My KD thanks to MW3 and how much of a piece of shit it is due to connection issues and lag comp is now a laughable 1.45-1.5. I get punished by being sent a bunch of lag to try and "Even out the connections" which in turn makes the game near unplayable for me, and rage inducing as all hell. Sledgehammer games in my opinion can suck a fat dick.

@mrfamas5. I pay a lot for my high speed and the game shows I have full bars, but this whole trying to make it equal for everyone is causing me to always be lagging. My bullets don't register, I'm running in directions I wasn't heading all of a sudden. So I'm being punished for having a good connection

@Pupster64 You do realize that a lot of the people have the same internet provider and pay the same amount of money, but live in an area where their signal isn't as good. And absolutely not, just because you spend more money it doesn't mean you should have an advantage over 60% of the online community. Like I said, if you can't play on connection on par with everyone elses then you are a bad player, anyone can play on a good connection while everyone else is 2-3 baring the whole game.

I had the exact same problem before, but i have a better internet connection now so it's kinda better, however it still happens 6/10 times i play, i don't consider myself a bad player, but this is the reason my kdr isn't higher.

Woody ur not the only one complaining, really MW3 sucks ass! I expected a lot more from IW but they let me down again, I cant believe it but Treyarch innovated a lot more with BLOPS. I look forward to BLOPS 2.
