Ive watched this so many times, Ive lost count. I love the way it stirs my emotions. Robert DuVall as Gus is my favorite, but the whole cast made it complete. Wonderful

This movie is absolutely amazing. Duvall is superb; no other actor could have played Gus any better. I never tire of watching this!

robert mitcum won for winds of war .fredric forrest was incredble as was danny glover.jon voight turned down the woodrow call role and the did the terrible squel,this should be in the library of congress..
