It's no different from eating a cow, or horsemeat, pig/pork/ham, chicken.

It's just shocking because these foods aren't traditionally served in the West. Really, these meats aren't eaten at all in western countries. 

(I'm vegetarian and an on and off vegan, but don't judge others for their food choices. You have to eat what's best for you -whether it's meat or salads or whatever.)
