I love this scene.

This is that heart of the show that I keep telling people when I say why the show is good.

Behind all the laughter, all the recurring jokes and throwaway characters, there is an emotional side that very rarely shows in american animated shows.

Scenes like this, Fry giving his clover to his buried nephew, the montage of his dog Seymore. All of it.

It's that heart that makes this show worth watching, not the comedy.

The few American animated adult shows that are not comedy shows that i can remember right now did not live very long so seems it must be a comedy show to get popular.

@floritka85 Oh, the scene at the factory was him recalling when he saved Bender, because the episode revolved around him bringing Bender on an adventure to find his origins. The scene where he leaves his house and it's burnt down is in the present day, where the scene at the factory was in the past.

@floritka85 They is the corporation that created Bender...she doesn't like failures or people, and covers up stuff like that by killing the robots. They followed Hermes and Bender to the old house and started destroying it to cover up the truth, Hermes ordered Bender out and while the house was being shot at, he faked Bender's death so they'd go away and stop looking for him. So I guess basically they wanted to kill Bender and Hermes so no one ever knew a defective robot survived.
