Minnie Pearl Was the Gramma of hokie comedy. I loved that lady from the first time I saw her more years ago than I'd rather admit. And yes, comedy does get passed on from generation to generation, and sometimes the originators get forgotten.

Minnie Pearl was a great character actress. Old Hollywood was filled with them back in the good ol' days. You don't see that anymore. Today, everyone looks like your neighbor. She was playing the stereotypic simple country lady. There were women like that back then in simpler days. My parents came from a small town in Indiana that was alot like Mayberry. That world has largely vanished. The innocense is gone.
