Does disneyland rename the peoplemover? or did they just re name the ride? Oh and by the way the deaths of these people on this ride were there faults, not the rides.
@KanyeWestGlasses1 Disneyland's PeopleMover was taken out in 1995. Many fans want Disney to put it back but they just announced at the Disneyland Hotel due to the California state law and OSHA's safety regulations it can't be returned.
@Benstudio13 is it because the People mover isn't Safe? at WDW Nobody got killed on the TTA so I don't see any reasy they can't they just got to use the same tech like they do on TTA at WDW.
@sideslide23 It's just the new laws. Back in 1967 the technology was considered new and completely safe. But since the laws are updated every now and then the PM would need major updating. On todays standards there would need to be more stairs, possibly enclosed vehicles, and a new track.
@Xenomorph237 The only reason anyone dies on the Peoplemover is because they are idiots, like me, who jump from car to car and misstep. People dying from that is sad, but it is also a process of natural selection.
Well said! Unfortunately we seem to be in the process of reverse natural selection these days. The intelligent are being phased out and stupid people are inheriting the Earth... probably because their mistakes effect other people. For instance, people driving around with their heads in their phones not paying the fuck attention. They always walk away unscathed, of course, after killing an innocent family of 4.
Darwin would turn in his grave if he knew the way things were today.
My friend heard about one of those deaths and told me a scary thing. IF YOU GET NIGHTMARES FROM HEARING ABOUT GHOSTS DO NOT READ THE REST OF THIS.
He said a person fell out and got their head broken in half by the ride. Then he said that one time he went on the TTA and looked into The Buzz Lightyear ride... floating above the robot he saw something like a person, only it was a pale white. It whispered "heeeelp" and its head split in two... :O I never saw it myself and I don't want to.
I like the Tomorrowland Transit Authority's current narration and spiel a little bit better, although they should add in references to both Laugh Floor and Stitch's Great Escape!
ORAC-1 was the best incarnation of the ride. The audio here is some of the best recorded that I've heard. Someday I want to get my hands on the source audio... ahhh, my one true Holy Grail. :)
And to second the previous comment - WED = Walter Elias Disney, and WED Enterprises is what became WDI (Walt Disney Imagineering).
do you know how long i have searched for this audio!!!!!! THANK YOU

@Xenomorph237 Must be a long time ago because I havent heard anything recently. And they have better equipment now to prevent just that.

@Xenomorph237 They died on the Disneyland version, this version uses magnets and such and could never crush someone.

@Xenomorph237 That was at Disneyland's. No one has ever died on Walt Disney World's version.

@Xenomorph237 I think it was Disneyland's ride where the casualties occurred.

I miss the old narration with the "Now approaching....."
G2red89 1 year ago 7
@G2red89 me too. "Now approaching Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress" :) also Iiss the beep (or "bing") sound effect before the voice says something.
DisneyfanBeckers 1 year ago
@DisneyfanBeckers I know the beep sound before the voice was original compared to the new generic sounding narration.

this one is in 1991 though, this isnt the new speil, but yes, they did get a new narration in 2009.

I love this ride.
It's nice if you just want to get off your feet and rest.
Also, Tomorrowland is SO beautiful when it is lit up at night. Isn't it?

omg! this voice over sounds a lot like the new voice over that was added just a few weeks ago. i wonder if that was done on purpose ?!

From what I understand, it's in the archives in Anaheim. But the people I know haven't been able to get their people to leak it. Yet. :)
MasterArcher 3 years ago
It was named The WEDway people mover bcause Walt Disney Imagineering used to be known as WED enterprises, named for Walt's initials
DarthNocturn 3 years ago
Wow, ORAC-1 one sounds more human than the current narration.
Coastergeekperson04 3 years ago
question why is it called the wedway people mover??
Beautifulpoet12 3 years ago
we used to constantly make fun of the lack of synchronization of the narration...something I sadly miss today
