  • The drummer is Charlie Quintana not CHARLIE QUINTERO ... he is a photographer conception artist type. yes i agree though Mr Quintana rox here ... better than ever --- but SD and Cracker was some smooth stuff too ... the 7/8 tyme signature (this tune's chorus) would throw most young drummers for a "loop" ... he pulls it off rockin' and swinging through the whole thing !!!

  • wow! the female bass player is playing an Epiphone Viola (BeaTLes) electric bass guitar...awesome, cheers!

  • This song wipes your ass with sandpaper and makes you like it.

  • Joan TOTALLY kicks ass on this one. Love it!!!!

  • Love me some Joan! Cool, thanks!

  • THAT DRUMMER IS CHARLIE QUINTERO :) HE WAS THE DRUMMER OF CRACKER THEN SOCIAL DISTORTION , ROCK ON JILL

  • DAMN, I need a cigarette!!!!!!!

  • I never realized 7/4 timing could sound so approachable. But perhaps I'm comparing this to a rather extreme standard. (Animals as Leaders)

  • @temporaryonesix Good observation about the 7/4. When it clicks it's very powerful and natural-sounding. I love it in this song.

  • Really cool tune with a frustrating beat...and she just kills it here. Just a great singer at work.

  • You're truly pathetic

  • 名曲だぁね☆

  • she didn't sell her soul; she was blessed with raw talent. She has evolved into a class act and woman

  • I love her! Every one tells me i sound like her.

  • awesome!!

  • Love it jsut saw JO in Standing in the Shadoows of Motown" and she killed a verison Broken hearted Fn great!

  • I just love this song, and the album Relish....Joan is a truely amazing talent..so in other words..she wouldn't get a record deal today...too much talent!

  • You Got That Right!!!!!!!

  • I was at this show in 96 as a guest of VH1 and it was even BETTER than this video! The Janis Joplin of our day - Joan it Awesome!!

  • grrrrreaaaaaattttttttttttttttttt song.

  • That chick bass player sure does play.

  • As I heard someone once say;

"She must have sold her soul to the devil to get a voice like that..." and of course, THAT was a compliment... I never get tired of listening to her.

  • joan is the most underrated female vocalist in the industry.she is the real deal especially with the funk brothers

  • yup. i think maybe her hit music video confused matters and that's why she's under-rated. i dunno.

  • GO JOAN

  • Isnt that Social Distortion's drummer ? Charlie Quintero?? :) I think he also drummed in Cracker before helping out Joan Osbourne...oh well, keep on rocking MR RIGHT HAND MAN

  • this song is scary and creepy

  • She's just out of this world, no one can sing with that much soul in music buisness today.

  • Joan Osborne - The Real Deal When she sings the blues there's no holding back.

  • she rocks!!and is BEAUTIFUL too-cant wait for her new cd in Sept

  • Is this song about masturbating?

  • This is a great song. I wish Joan Osborne had more songs that sounded like this. I don't think it's about masturbation. But I think it's a funny coincidence that Joan Osborne's initials are J.O..

  • Indeed! I remember seeing Joan and this band on TV. Probably this very same performance. Great song. Great voice. Good feelings! Thanks for posting!

  • I agree with you all - she has a one-of-a-kind voice. I listened to this album over and over when I first bought it, and still love it to this day.

  • This song brings me back to the mid 90's with memories of Alanis Morissette, Melissa Ethridge, and Sara McLachlan, and Natalie Merchant, and the Lillith Fair Tour.

  • This is the sexiest white woman i have EVER seen in my life besides Brooke Shields. I love her nappy hair and her raspy voice. The firs ttime i ever saw her was in 1995. Even now in 2008 she is STILL sexy as hell, and she can still sing her tight little ass off.

  • Amen, freddystubbs...amen!!

  • @freddystubbs3001 You had me till Brooke Shields.

  • I love this woman, I was 13 when I got her album Relish, it's one that changed my views on music, it was the first time I heard a woman with soul and was wailing

  • cool vid, great sound, awesome Singer & fantastic Band! tank u fer di vid.

  • Just about the sexiest song I have ever heard. When I saw her perform this on Letterman in 1995 I was blown away. I was lucky enough to see Joan perform at our local blues festival several years ago. She is so beautiful!

  • Hot damn! Another blistering performance by Joan & her band.

    Derek, thanks x100!

  • Can't wait for the new "rock" album from Joan and the RELISH boys. As mush as I love all her stuff-that album is still her gold standard.

  • one of the most energetic songs ever. only Joan can pull this off!
