  • I got a K1200S at the mo....the kids' university fees just got a little further away

  • nice video

  • 7.01... no comment

  • Helmut Dähne was in the video @ 8:05

  • Very good lap. Some corners could have been slighlty better and I thought his acceleration out of some could have been better. Not criticising really, just jealous I only ever got around 8:00 BTG on my GSXR1000K4 ;-))

  • ghost rider done a 7;30 on a gsxr 1000 so considering the s1000 has tcs and abs its not realy that outstanding but still ,,,,cant complain :-) love the nurburgring :-)

  • @leachfish OnGR5 he claims an 8:20 lap, not even close to this one. Where did he do a 7:30?

  • Well liked. Good job, keep up the good work. Some people don't know that track. You rock it dude. It made my day!

  • it starts to sound like a giant monster crying..because it cant get out of that engine because of emission laws.

  • 7:17 bääääm motherfucker

  • Hmm, was some kind of warmup lap i think ... he could do that a lot faster, break a lot later and harder and get on the gas much earlyer, still a fast lap an quite a nice line. good work!

  • I want BMW to enter MotoGP and have Rossi ride for them!!!

btw, a 30 second straightaway?!?!..... Ausgefuckingzeichnet!

  • this bike has come in for story, the best of all......... it's is BMW

  • Hojnyheter:

You RIDE a motorcycle and DRIVE a car.

You fly a plane and pilot a shuttle.

    Or something.

    ;-)

  • Great bike except for the front forks. Get a pair of Ohlins and you've got a real competitor. Jurgen can ride anything fast! I wonder what his best lap time was.

  • Very interesting riding..Jurgen,that's was nice lap..

  • holy shit at the cones in the middle of the track at 2:24

  • new besttime?

  • my next bike! i am completely satisfied with all the reviews and performance, plus a 3 year warranty! if only the headlights werent so weird.... may have to wait for the 2011 model.

  • wow

  • The shifting assist realy make differece...

  • Lets put GHOSTRIDER on that BMW S1000RR... now i think it would be badass

  • O MY GOD! I've just found my seventieth birthday present. I've got to get one of these. lol

  • How weird, after playing "Need for Speed(shift)" on the PS3 I know this track like the back of my hand. lol

  • too fast for a bmw:) I like this new bike!

  • Great rider, Nurnburgring is very dangerous for bikes. Awesom bike too

  • Oh my god...

  • holy crap thats a long straight

  • Amazing video and bike. Can't wait to own one someday soon. I no longer want a Ducati.

  • Great ride! Great riding!

  • Pure music to the ears !

  • Bike doesn't even use half of its power until the Döttinger straight.

Then it looks like it's going to take-off like an F16

    and dissapear into the clouds.

  • I wonder what his lap time would have been if he didn't have to slow down for other riders? Someone must have timed him.

  • Good bike, but Ducati is Ducati!! (And Harley is Harley ;))

  • gotta love that factory quickshifter.. looks like so much fun..

  • With this BMW motorcycle shit to the whole Japanese and Italian

  • This guy must have balls made out of steel.

Seriously, one mistake and he's dead? Or at least severely injured?

Still, that feeling of acceleration must be incomparable to anything else. Even makes me happy just from watching :-D.

  • @omir1 if you think this guy has balls of steel, Youtube "Guy Martin TT" and click the onboard lap uploaded by Irish racer magazine. Un-frickin-believable!

  • It's riding not driving!!!

  • Best part, and its all great! No noise that someone calls music to ruin this excellent video with sound!Excellent all the way.The new Beemer is already the bike to beat in World SuperStock 1000 race series.3 wins,no losses, and Ten Kate is participating in that class this year thank you very much.

  • im with u bigger

  • and I think to myself... what a wonderful world...

  • Verdammt guter Fahrer !

  • best vid on yt

  • Great riding,, great vid. great mc.

  • Shit yeah! The S1000rr is a good bike.

  • could hit 7-13 experts reckon kudos to bmws first real superbike effort!

  • this would of been aboutt 7 minutes 10 or something

  • Did no one else see this bike coming? BMW have a long history with highly tuned N/A engines then they launched the boxer cup and had a lot of bike chassis development with it. The tech has been theirs for ages so how come everyone's shocked when they come out with this and blow the rest of the biking world to one side?

  • Its not Japanese?

  • true, but bmw motorrad has not been producing bikes with the sole purpose of being all-out super bikes until this one. it's not a shock because of doubt that it could be done but rather that it would be done since their core products have been enduro and touring (sport & luxury) bikes in recent decades. plus of any class of bike produced by bmw, this is probably the only one that is truly (& surprisingly) competitively priced. In fact, it is probably a loss-leader for bmw...lucky for us.

  • Am I the only one that finds the lack of rev matching when down-shifting disturbing? I mean... slipper clutch or not... please... blip the throttle!

  • 18k I'm buying it peace.

  • 18k? why am i seeing it for 14k

  • @Polskmofo it's 18k with all the goodies,ABS,traction,ect.

  • Great riding by Jurgen " crazy as " Fuchs

  • prob the best superbike ever, m division need to launch the best supercar to match.

  • Man amazing ride

  • HMMM, let me think...Ducati Desmo $80,000 and 181HP at rear wheel vs BMW S1000RR $18,000 and 183 HP at rear wheel....$62,000 buys a lot of tires, fuel, girls, track days, l new truck, home down payment etc. etc. etc...

    btw...Damn this rider is Good!!!

  • @biggerthanyourface1

and cos its a bmw it wont breakdown like the ducati.

  • @biggerthanyourface1 : of course he's good. Jurgen Fuchs was team HB rider back in 87 riding GP250 with Ralf.

  • @biggerthanyourface1 u are 100% right nice math ;)

  • @biggerthanyourface1 , I completely agree! and yes, Jurgen Fuchs kicks ass!

  • @biggerthanyourface1

    193 hp.....+++

  • @biggerthanyourface1 lol.. well said my friend.... its like the corvette and ferrari.. lol..

  • @biggerthanyourface1 ducati overpriced! voila

  • 7:11 +1 to extreme induction noise!

  • eh ..m8 the head line ..you dont drive a bike

  • With a rider that has great circuit knowledge and a 'racers' skills, probably a 7.15 lap bridge to gantry, maybe a bit less. Pagani Zonda carbon fibre super dooper does it in about 7.20 or so. Only cars that generate significant downforce will be faster due to higher average corner speed and braking. Bet this bike has a good showing at autocars 0-100-0 test this year!

  • @bladeboy2041 Probably about right. Would love to see that video. It's time the official full-lap bike record was taken down - no disrespect to Helmut but this record is ancient!! The RC30 was great but bikes have come on a lot since then.

  • 0:45 xDD lölz

  • Will we ever see a full official lap time by this thing on the "Ring"?? If it can officially beat the 17 year old bike record held by Helmut Dähne it would be some publicity coup by BMW.

  • Awk doo fucking leeber!

  • Great video, great sound, slipper clutch sounds awesom

  • sehr guter fahrer und moped :P

  • I bet I could take him, LOL! Seriously though, watching him push that beautiful BMW to the limit around the worlds most demanding track is a true pleasure to behold. Thanks for posting, A+++.

  • WOW, great vid 5*

    that bike is scary fast

  • Beautiful circuit, beautifully ridden...and that BMW is some special machine!!

    Thanks for great video.

  • fock fast 5*

  • 5:40 :D wie er die GSXR versägt^^

  • Fucking awesome

  • Ist einfach sofort zu kaufen!!

    Brutale machine...

  • what the hell with all the writing on the pavement anyone know?

  • I think that the track is so huge, that there probably isn't any way to keep it entirely cordoned-off - probably just graffiti from kids

  • @Obzy77 You got it.

  • must be aliens i guess...

  • that is from all the fans from the 24h race...

they write the names of the racers, the teams and the car producers on the track. and their fan-club names as well!

they are allowed to do so

  • Great video thanks for posting!!

  • I do not even imagine the taste that has to give it when you give him fist in these curled straight lines.

  • 7.15 sound like an airplane :)

  • @FryChicken i dont speak german but all i understand is Deutschland > Japan. and i agree +1!

  • @FryChicken

    :D:D:D

  • @FryChicken Italian>Detuschland haha

  • @FryChicken Kein nur Japan. BMW uber alles....I liebe BMW Motorraden. Sie besser als dem auto sind.

  • @FryChicken word!

  • pretty close to the laprecord with a bike, shame he couldn´t finish the lap..

  • Nice bike and good riding!

Why are there cones on the track at 3:02 ? Slippery road, repairs or something else?

  • And the driver at 5:10, ideal example of wrong body position

  • @cRuNkSB

The track was closed at that day...It is a help to show you the racingline...Espacilly in this corner (called kallenhard) it is very important to stay as long as possible at the outside!! I was there at that day (look at my photo, i am sitting on the prototype bike in black)...Great sound, engine and feeling...The BMW will be my new bike-that is sure.

  • Nice :)

  • One Bitch'in bike!

  • It sounds like an F1... I love you BMW!!!

  • cant wait to see this bike in a shootout against the competition, then we will know how good or bad it is

  • the shift gear is the same as they use in formula 1 thats why the sound is unique

  • @fanaruvalentin What do you mean the shift gear is the same as forumula 1. The bike uses a manual sequential box like any other. F1 cars use semi-automatic gearboxes that electrically change gears at the driver's command. It's not the same.

  • Wow, sounds like a jet engine around 7:00

  • My only concern is that the bike sounds cheap (ish) on paper but an R1200GS sounds cheap until it gets a load of extras by which time it is £11 or £12 K......

  • I sell BMW bikes, and i'm off to Spain this weekend to ride it in Barcelona...Guess what??..I can't wait!...I've sold 5 already, and the UK has sold 34% of the 2010 allocation....this is going to be awesome!!!;-)

  • Meet the new "Leader" of the Liter bikes!

  • Where' Sabine

  • the sound at the first time he revs up to to max rpm full throttle brought tears to my eyes :)

  • That's a pretty hot sounding whine that develops near top speed from about 7:00 on through the straight....

I've been waiting for a ride video of this bad boy and it doesn't seem to disappoint. Looks like the Germans are going to shake up the sport bike market.

  • I went to the unveiling of this in my local town just the other week and it truly is a work of art. Also one of the most comfortable sports bikes I have ever sat on and say that it'll probably be my next bike.

  • I agree that this is a masterpiece! The looks and the specs are great .... ! I have heard that bmw had problems with the abs, have you heard anything on this? And how about the price? It is said that it will be around 15.000 euros...

  • This was incredible !!!!!!! The sound is awesome,it reminds me a bit formula 1 !!!! And the power....the bike is accelerating on 5th and 6th gear like it's possesed by some demon!!! It seems it will be a great bike,i hope it will have the price they say it will....

  • Probably some type of DOT sport tires. And my guess would be, under 8 minutes for a lap, but the record isn't much less than 8 minutes.

  • @HC130P8419

There hasn't been a Street Legal bike that brok the 8 Minute barrier for the whole 20,832 meters . The Honda CBR 1000RR came the closest with a time of 8:12.62

  • amazing, could these be stock tires? What would a laptime at this pace be roughly?

  • quite an impressive machine for the price.

not too sure about all them new fangled electronics tho...

  • Well, we'll have to see. BMW has something like 25 years of experience in ABS, and their traction control seems a lot smarter than Ducati's (which still gets great reviews on the 1098R and 1198S).

I'm really looking forward to this bike, hope to get it when I'm back from Iraq this time next year.
